Lucked our way there, 45 mins of good football all tournament, leading for 34 mins the entire comp, one shot on target in each euro finals. Under Gareth we are passive, ponderous and absente of structure and attacking ideas. His loyalty to underperforming players and in ability to react in game is a huge issue. For a start when the BBC tells us Southgate has 'revitalised the English team' is almost laughable. In stark contrast to Spain the 'Play off' stages alone the English team has scraped wins against nations with a COMBINED population of just 45mill compared to 60mill in England. None of whom have any pedigree in Footballing terms .. that is the sad reality. When you also consider the 'pool' nos playing the professional game in England, the first class stadiums, training facilities, the money that is poured into the game that attracts some of the best foreign players and coaches the result is still the same ... abject failure.
