Lol that's exactly why they scheduled the nightcap show to be in Houston at the same time as the event with Stephen A and Steve Harvey. Because Unc was not trying to have to answer those questions of did you and Steve have a conversation about the Katt Williams interview.
One of the worst things to happen to sports analyzation is this QB vs QB debate. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that conversation is almost never apples to apples. The game is far more nuanced than that.
I remember in the early 2000’s when sports conversations were a lot more informative/nuanced. Now it’s just a bunch of screaming matches where they say so little
I agree with you to be fair. I’ve been saying it for a while now. Let’s say a QB gets his team off to an early lead. His defence is managing to hold the opposing offence to zero. The gameplan changes. He doesn’t have to take risks pushing the ball far downfield. Running out the clock etc etc takes priority. Securing the win. On the other hand there’s a QB who’s engaged in a shootout and had to throw for 4 touchdowns to get the win. Let’s say that happens every game in the season. The QB with more td’s isn’t necessarily better than the one with less. However people will talk about this QB had this many, the other ran for that many etc etc It matters. Only to an extent. Context matters more. Football is situational more times than not.
@@greenbay3164wym how he’s already accomplished 😂? Don’t get me wrong another ring would definitely boost him up but Lamar and Josh ain’t win 💩 yet? Like what are we talking about
@@Dre4tfaccomplished to be where he’s at correct, along the all time QBs? He’s not there so yes winning a ring helps him at least move up the ladder. But the jets ain’t winning 💩
For those who don’t know, Mahomes has the same ingredients that got Tom Brady more than 3 rings. A legend at TE, a HOF coach and playmakers around him. It’s no one challenging the chiefs right now
Say what you want about Rodgers in the nfc championship game but in over 30 years nobody has been to more conference championship games besides Tom Brady. To write the jets off is just haters hating considering they have two elite options of on offense around Rodgers and an elite defense
I've never heard of many issues on a Greyhound bus, but many are on airplanes. Also, planes crash, and more malfunctions are happening. It was why John Madden never flew on planes.
I think means like if he can get past him, along with whatever else he can do in the rest of his career. If he means that then I think he would crack the top 10 by the end of his career.
I think it's gotta be Allen at 1. AFC Championship was the first time Lamar played Mahomes in the playoffs. Allen's had like 4 chances to take out Mahomes and has lost all of them. If he loses to him again, we gotta start talking about him differently.
Hearing Molly talk is serious torture Edit: let me add🗿 it wasn’t bad until she started to talk over people and forcefully insert her opinion, don’t get me wrong I respect her opinion and work but when she forces herself into conversation it drags my brain ☠️
I hate when she trys to insert herself in the conversations. She's a mediator, not an informed insider or serious sports journalist. Sure she's nice to look at but know your role.
Both him and Sterling Sharpe don't like Lamar Jackson. They don't like QBs with legs like him because they would get fewer catches. There are also personal preferences why they knock Lamar Jackson. They're not QBs so I don't care what they think. I'll take the words of Steve Young, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning over anyone else. Ratings and clicks are why Lamar Jackson gets disrespected.
I’m with SAS on this one. Allen has had the most opportunities against Mahomes and have yet to defeat him. All losses aren’t his fault but he most definitely needs to beat him more than any other QB in the AFC
This is prob the best group first take puts together these days. Wish we could get stephen a, Shannon, and Dan on full time. Mad dog is entertaining in his segments as well. Show is so good when these dudes come on. Instead espn gives us random throw ins 2-3 days a week
So, SAS saying Lamar’s offensive talent let him down. Meanwhile, Mahomes receivers had the most drops in the league. When you’re great, you overcome. If people want to put Lamar in Mahomes’ class, then he should be able to make it work with Zay Flowers, OBJ, Agholor, and two great tight ends.
You probably want to re-think this take. Andrews and Flowers are the only players that provide consistent production. Speaking of drops or bad fumbles, did you actually watch the AFC Championship last year?
I'm pretty sure they give him such a hard time because he DOES make so much money. He's got some real NFL money from being a QB for 12 years. Not to mention ESPN pays pretty well. I think it's an inside-the-office kind of joke
@@builtbybenny I have a friend that has been working at ESPN for over 10yrs, and on-camera personalities do rake in the cash. Btw, radio personalities do so as well, if they get listeners. However, the difference between pay of the on-camera personalities is immense. There's a reason why they let so many people go recently.
Allen isn’t the right answer. He has Less weapons on O and on D. No one expects him to beat Mahomes in the playoffs. The right answer is Lamar without a question
The worst part of shows like First Take is the ignorance of context. I get they don't have all day to get into the nitty gritty but Allen played out of his mind in that last divisional game. Stefon Diggs had one of the biggest choke drops I've ever seen on a deep pass that landed right in the bread basket, the defense was shredded with injuries, and don't forget the shanked field goal to end it. Did we also forget 13 seconds?
@deandrejohnson4348 How many did of those same throws did Mahomes make? I've been a Chiefs fan all my life but a spade is a spade. I'm just giving credit where it's due
Man, Allen has to be the guy to get the most respect out of not one, but TWO loses ever. Heck, I feel like Burrow at times gets a bit too much glazing for one win, but at the very least it was a win, Allen doesn't even have that.
It doesn’t matter if Josh Allen had 600 yards and Mahomes had 1 yard .. The question is who needs to DEFEAT Mahomes not who performs better .. If Josh Allen does all that and loses and gets sent home none of it matters
Unc makes some good point when it comes to ravens defense only allowing 17 points in the playoffs but let’s not forget Lamar never had a WR or RB who rushed or received for 1000 yards. Mahommes defense gave a lot cuz his earlier team were stacked offensively and they were built for shootout. Context matter.
Not sayin Dan right but he got a point… how many years yall banking on Aaron playing? Yall know the discussions surrounding his career and the 4 mvps but the “1 ring, and an entire decade of failures”, another ring for Rodgers, especially beating Mahomes in the process?? That catapults him into a goat discussion because he has the numbers and stats and longevity, but everyone knows him only having one ring is what everyone talks about
I wasn't thinking Rodger's either. But in all honesty if he doesn't get another chip you can't say his career hasn't been underwhelming. 4 MVPs yeah but he's come up short in the playoffs a lot. To be considered as great as he's been regarded
🤣😂😂🤣😂 everybody go to mark 12:00 when Dan O got his finger tips touching each other like a proud new villain like “yeees yes mate, now I must watch YOU TOO DEBATE!! Wonderrrful” like if that’s the funniest part
Facts bro if he was just losing to Mahomes then I would understand, he constantly plays bad every playoffs and lost to titans, and burrow. I won 6k off that titans game. But Lamar overrated he not better than mahomes, burrow, or Allen,
@@Brandon-cp1nv Which is why the answer is Josh Allen, not Lamar Jackson. Allen is the better QB in terms of an actual QB in many people's eyes. Allen has had many opportunities to get to the Super Bowl especially against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs and whether it was him, his offense, his defense, or his special teams, he's failed. That window is gonna eventually close if you can't get it done at least ONCE.
@@Brandon-cp1nvhe never played burrow in the playoffs Burrow barley beat Tyler Huntly And I could of sworn Lamar did good against the Texans in the playoffs last year but ig none of that happened
@@fisherfoster6032 Who cares. They already did it. Mahomes scored 0 touchdowns in Raymond James Stadium that night. And don't give me the O line excuse because he OBLITERATED the Bills Defense the game prior to that Superbowl with the same O Line..
@@bigchungus1848 and mahomes since has won the same amount of rings the bucs franchise total in the last two years. But celebrate mediocrity with faker mayfield now.
So all Lamar has to do is beat 1 guy? What if he doesn’t even win a Super Bowl? What if Allen does win a Super Bowl but doesn’t go through the chiefs? Does it not count?
the answer is literally everyone lol, but if one person its Josh Allen but its never going to happen with McDermott as coach, Allen plays good every year in the playoffs but McDermott is always out coached and out classed by Andy Reid and the one game against Zac Taylor, the Bills defense always gets torched in zone coverage in the playoffs since like 2017 and they never once changed the scheme and get picked apart by the elite offensive coaches every playoffs. they wasted a lot of years of solid vets until injuries derailed them the last 2 seasons
It’s crazy how chiefs beat ravens 17-10 And Shannon gives all credit to Mahomes But when that was Brady everybody always brought up he had the “greatest” coach in bill and a really great defense before they would give him any credit
I think your arguments are outdated because after seeing Bill without Brady nobody is seriously downplaying Tom's affect on winning. Had Bill retired after From left then they could've kept that argument alive but not after what we've seen post Brady.
I swear KC fans have no idea how good they have it with Reid as a HC, as soon as they hired him (and before Mahomes) he had them averaging 10-12 wins a season with an average quarterback! Go ask Philadelphia how he turned Mike Vick (who could barely complete half his passes) into a Pro Bowl passer who completed 60+% of his passes. Heck, Andy Reid led the Eagles to 5 NFC Championship games (and 1 Super Bowl) with Donovan McNabb as his QB. That same McNabb that folded faster than a cheap suit when he left the Eagles. These fans clearly can't see or acknowledge that they have the best offensive coach in NFL history (and top-5 all time) with an All-time QB, oh and top-5 all time defensive coach. But nope IT IS ALL MAHOMES...
Dan was absolutely right. All the Ravens had to do was run the ball, they barely ran the ball knowing the chiefs defensive strength was pass defense and ravens receivers was a poor matchup for chiefs dbs
Lamar has played against Mahomes once in the playoffs lol, why Shannon acting like he’s been a roadblock for him like Josh Allen. Lamar has lost to Tannehill, Allen, and Rivers (their teams I mean). Fact of the matter is until last season, Lamar was flaming out early in the playoffs so he never played the Chiefs.
Harbaugh has made the ravens a defensive team aslong as I can remember, they are always in games. Fired is crazy.. yess they should’ve ran more that game.. but don’t forget the game was full of mistakes.
@@missile87redefined25how can he be the greatest dual threat QB when after 2 MVPs we still question his passing ability? If you contain the QB scramble can he pick you apart from the pocket? Be real
@@missile87redefined25 "IF" he wins a SB it's not crazy. At this point considering his inability to produce in the playoffs that's a huge hurdle. I need to see him make a tight window throw in the playoffs when he has to have it to even say he's dual threat.
8:06, Stephen A. is FULL OF IT! with that take. The THREE playoff games Josh has had the lead in ALL of them. In the "13 seconds" game, that's a WIN. Josh did not call the STUPID prevent defense that cost us the game. Last year in the Divisional playoff game, Stefon Diggs FORGOT how to catch the ball, and dropped a pass that WINS the game. The FG kicker MISSED a 44-yard FG that ties the game, and we win in OT. And even in the 2020 AFC Championship Game, Josh took us down to what should have been a 10-0 lead, Bass missed the extra point. GIVE JOSH the kickers that the great Patrick Mahomes has had with Butker and GIVE JOSH what Joe Burrow has with his kicker, McPherson, that WINS the game. But you will see in 2024 Josh has, REMEMBER this name Khalil Shakir!!!!!!!! The next Andre Reed in Buffalo!!!!! And REMEMBER this name, Dalton Kincaid!!!!!!! Let Josh throw THAT PASS Diggs dropped to Shakir or Kincaid with the game on the line against Mahomes or Burrow!!!💯LET'S PLAY!!!💯
