I've loved these guys unconditionally since hearing Diamonds and Gasoline for the first time. Easily my favourite album, and their other music is also very wonderful. More than great news to learn about a comeback!
Right on! The first time I heard Turnpike Troubadours years ago, It was “Every Girl” and I immediately thought “wow this is the sound that I feel like popular country music should have ACTUALLY progressed toward”, then I listened to that whole record and that become furthermore justified in that stance. Incredible band and songwriting.

I got into Turnpike Troubadours during Covid and I feel like Beary Barrington in the Country Bears movie. I have been listening to all of the old songs and performances and finally seeing them get back together like the Country Bears did. What a time to be alive. Country Bears is a great movie. I only discovered the Turnpike Troubadours in 2020, so I had no idea any of this went down. Wow. I'm glad some of the members got sober. I hope they continue to make great music! My favorite song of theirs is "Pay No Rent", as the lyrics "In my heart you pay no rent" reminds me of the few people in my life I keep in my heart no matter how physically distant we are.
Hey, it is what it is. Evan, hopefully, is back on his feet and has conquered some of his demons. I saw these guys in Wichita a few years back and they flat-assed rocked the house. I absolutely LOVE their sound and hope they have many years ahead of them.

As a 17 year old in Eastern Washington Wheat Country who grew up on beef and local AM, my music taste tends to lean more towards Jimmy Rodgers or Hank Thompson than most. I had heard Down Here, but never really looked into TT. I looked at Kyle Nix's album on Grady's recommendation, and really liked it. I think I'll give them a shot now, especially after hearing Easton and Main. Cain's Ballroom is probably the birthplace of Texas/Oklahoma Country music, and is on my bucket list to visit. Bob Wills (formerly of the Light Crust Doughboys) put together the Texas Playboys in '35 to play for a Tulsa radio station out of Cain's Ballroom, and the rest is history. I Just about fell out of my seat when i seen they where coming back and didn't believe it until I seen the Instagram post today. just listened to a Long way from your Heart album last week and was thinking the world needs Turnpike Troubadours right now.
It is an amazing day. My sister and I were leaving for their show at White Oak Music Hall before they cancelled an hour before the show. The next day they announced their hiatus and it was so sad. Turnpike is my favorite band. Glad to see Evan thriving again with Staci and their baby girl. On a side note, Grady, thank you for speaking openly about your mental health here. It is really tough. I hope you find healing and are able to thrive again yourself. Having been through severe depression in the past (basically from 2015 to 2018 with a few positive months interspersed) I know how hard it can be. There is hope though ❤️ I will pray for you.
Evan’s last performance was at a benefit playing on stage with the Teague Brothers Band. You should check them out, they have similar writing styles and seem like a breath of fresh air.
I’m so stocked! However I’m sad because I’m just now seeing they played @Love in War in Plano Texas on Sunday but I’m just now seeing this… I can NOT wait! So glad Evan is all good and his wife so happy they worked things out. I know she helped him and they are in love now more than ever with their beautiful baby girl❤️
I just discovered them this year, so I guess a good year to become a fan! Grady, I'd love to see a video on country music artists getting sober. It seems to be a newer trend (which I very much respect) that goes against the stereotype of country musicians as a bunch of beer and whiskey- drinking cowboys. Also heard you say you're sober now too, so I'd be especially interested in your take.
I can't begin to explain how happy I am! As a long time fan of Turnpike and being from the north, I've been kicking myself for never taking a trip down south to see them live, and thought I lost my chance. Can't wait for their new music and I guess I have a road trip in the works whenever a tour is announced!

I discovered Turnpike Troubadours the beginning of my first deployment. It gave me amazing flashes of growing up in southeastern AR. A band like them comes around once in a while.

I got really into them right before they went on hiatus and it bummed me out thinking they weren’t going to come back but glad they all got clean and they will shine even brighter now! Can’t wait for what’s to come
Still remember showing up to the House of Blues Chicago and getting told to go home. Absolutely brutal timeline after that, glad the bands back together and didn't let this tear them apart forever.
