🚨| Vatican expels founder of Peruvian movement Sodalitium 

The Vatican's process on him is advanced. Pope Francis changed a rule to make the process against him possible.

@@matthewjoseph9897 I stand with the now retired Cardinal Sean O'Malley who spoke out against the Vatican's persistent usage of his artwork on their website. It is also noteworthy that the Holy Father also has Rupnik's artwork on display in his room. Rupnik has already been expelled from the Jesuits. So, what's keeping the Vatican? And despite the credibility and severity of his crimes, he can happily continue his priestly ministry somewhere, and his artwork receives continued endorsement from the highest authorities in the Church.

@@anthtan I have not been in the Holy Father's room, so I do not know whether he has or used to have one of Marko Rupnik's images in it, or whether this is just another false accusation spread by those who try to undermine Pope Francis, and by people who believe them. I used to have official images for the Year of Mercy by Rupnik, long before we heard bad things about him. The issue of religious art and its maker, who is later accused or even proved to have done wrong, is complicated. Use of art by a sinner does not imply approval of his or her sins. If public art works by Marko Rupnik ought to be removed, a refusal to remove them does not imply anything about the seriousness with which such sins and their consequences are regarded. Although the Jesuits were able to expel Marko Rupnik, reducing him to the lay state is a graver matter, and Pope Francis has changed the rules to make it possible. A priest can't be laicized summarily, but Pope Francis decided to lift the statute of limitations so that the case can be dealt with satisfactorily. The process has begun and is in an advanced stage.
