MBNA Europe bank, Halifax, RBS and Lloyds bank, all come under lloyds group. This is why you should never keep above 85000 pounds in more than one of the above banks. In an event these banks stop trading, all you will get back is 85000 even if you had one million in lloyds, 1 million in Halifax, one million in RBS. Better keep your funds in separate banks owned by different owners so that your eligible deposits are protected by financial conduct authority.

Hey Ritwik, Hope you are doing good. Its been long time I came on Dream UK as all is going well at Manya's end and she already have lot of exp by herself. But today I felt very nice after watching you. Hope your studies are going good. Being parent, I transfer the fee to her bank account from my India bank account and its good good since beginning. I am not sure, if I told you or not, she had been elected for UoM Student Ambassador for her stream, for India home country as well & also now UoM as a whole too and that to for whole 4 years and she is also earning good and with lot of fun. There is no limit on how much you send to India. How much you can send in one transaction depends on if your account is verified or not (sending online) You may have to pay gift tax once you have sent more than 14k $ equivalent.
