as a computer science student, I would say mac has helped way more for than my win Lappi reasons being : 1) 10 hr battery - good for college 2) light weight - good for backpack 3) full performance even on battery - no need to carry charger to unlock performance 4) ports less? well i bought pendrive and hard drive supporting type c 5) linux terminal available on mac 6) android studio works better on mac 7) ios development only possible on mac only down side 1) expensive and in video you also argue that softwares are expensive, so i have been using cracked softwares for past 5 years, no problem yet. easy. Edit : you dont need to buy ms office, as mac has their own free softwares and its possible to covert to pdf or windows .docx as well.
Fed up of people comparing mac with 40-50k laptops. There are expensive windows laptops perform better than mac, have 8-10 hr battery. Durable and good quality keyboards. Apple keyboard isn't even spill proof. Boy, you didn't explored the laptop world very well. The only thing good about mac is display. Thats it
I agree with all the points. If your budget allows and you can bear further expenses on accessories and software then you should go with it. Apple products have very good longevity and very rarely someone faces defects in it but from reparability point of view , MacBooks are very difficult to repair especially outside Apple warranty. Parts are not replaceable, whole motherboard needs to be replaced if just HDD or RAM is gone whose cost is almost half the cost of laptop.

*YOU FORGOT 1 MAJOR DRAWBACK - Repair costs - Repair costs can be very high for damaged macbook - although unlike iphones, macs dont get damaged easily - but once damaged - the repair costs are so high that buying new laptop is cheaper(and no - you cannot go to third party repair shop to repair for cheap as it apple intentionally bricks your device if you use non-apple parts)
As a MacBook pro M1 user I can say some of these facts are true. actually all are true but the solutions you used for those weren't good. 1) The first adapter you bought for HDMI, is expensive as compared to features that it gives but if you only want to connect HDMI (since that adapter has other ports also), you can go with standalone type-c to HDMI adapter which would cost you around 1K if you go for the good quality. 2) USB connection ??? You can simply use a smartphone's OTG and that is it . Upgrading is definately an issue. Softwares are quiet expensive but the one's that I use for programming are either free or have the same license price as for other OSes. Video editing softwares are way expensive
i mean if you earn 2lakh per month and need a quality product with no hassle, sure go for it, but for anyone else that doesnt has that class and buys it and those 1-8k of extra investments mean something to them, then they are probably stupid and just a showoff

Bro i will highly suggest you to buy a gaming laptop at that budget as there are laptop which can perform better then mac books. Or my best suggestion would be like to buy a custom built pc and a normal average laptop. like if your budget is 2 lakhs then invest 140000 in a gaming pc and buy a high middle end laptop. and you can definitely go for accessories but cutting the cost on pc or laptop

Harry I am also not a apple fanboy but I own a Macbook Air let me clear some facts 1. Expensive : the apple macbook air m1 costed me 70k last year and it is value for money , it performs better than 1 lakh windows laptop so this is not expensive. 2. Software : I haven't purchased a single software in last 1 year ( I am in IT ) , if you need photoshop/MS office , you have to pay in Windows also 3. Accessories : the only accessory I purchased in one year is a connector (dock) by cable creation and it costed me 3k , working fine till now (yes this is a drawback) 4. RAM : You don't need a mac more than 16 GB Mac 5. Warranty : Yes this is an issue , Macbook repair cost bomb . 6. Gaming : Agree , this is not for gaming

Go for cheaper options for accessories original ones are always high in price even for windows. 4. Ram and storage is not considerably fast and optimised. 5. Parts are high in cost (accepted) 6. It is not for gamers literally 🤣 it is for production Consider if you are in development : Flutter 3.0 is there and you can develop apps for android iOS windows macOS and web But on windows you have to suffer because Xcode is not there so you cant make builds for mac os and iOS For rendering it is best Ecosystem is made for coders and developers .

You're talking of software only. What about hardware? Linux can be installed on any machine, including MacBook itself. Moreover, for Android development, MacBook is the cheapest option and for iOS development, it's the only option
Yeah, I agree MacBook has some amazing performance and the cheapest option when is come to app development, but when it comes to repair it is very expensive. The cost of screen replacement for MacBook alone is around 48,000 & When it comes to screen replacement for a windows laptop, the maximum cost under 10,000 and here I said about replacing the screen because the Macbooks screen is very sensitive and it can easily shatter.

okay as a mac user , i want to tell you , why you should buy mac 1 - if your budget is near 80-90 k 2- if you don't enjoy playing games 3- if you want a machine which will not heat up and give you topnotch performance 4- you want an awesome display , and sound quality. 5- you want to run the machine for 7-8 hrs straight with heavy usage and without charging. 6- talking about ports , i have purchased a dongle for 1300 and it works very well , i made my purchase in 2020 and here i am in 2023 its working very smooth , never faced any issue with any application , downloaded almost every app that was needed. from my side , the conclusion is IF YOU HAVE THE BUDGET < GO FOR IT >

Either learn any simple library like RayLib, or some other traditional c++ library to display graphics like SDL2 or SFML. Or if you are beginner and don't wanna start from scratch with a library then learn Unreal Engine.
Points are true, no doubt. And these were the reasons I switched from my 2017 iMac to a windows desktop pc. And I've to say, my pc is just amazing! Although I had to tweak a lot of things in windows 10 to make the experience close to what I was having with macos. But let's be honest, M1 macs are insane and when you buy an apple machine you buy it for experience and performance. Especially for the fact, that you can get great performance without any fans and stuff is brilliant. I've plans to buy a macbook and a new tablet. But I'll do all of that myself. As Harry bro mentioned it's not a good thing to force our parents to purchase something for us which isn't even that required (which is macbook in this case). Btw I didn't get the software point Harry. I use my computer for different things. From music production to photo editing to video editing and now I'm learning to code. I already have cubase pro purchased (i use that for music production). But apart from that, I use Davinci resolve which is free. Visual Studio Code is free too. And adobe photoshop and illustrator are priced standardly for both operating systems (windows and macos). The big issue with apple machines is just their repairing part and their components upgrade part.

₹9000 ka hub aapne branded/costly liya hai. You can get a ₹150-₹200 type c to usb converter and HDMI+typec+usb hubs are available for ₹1000 and less as well. Well I've been using Mac for last 2 years and was Linux user before. I use a Rs. 2500 hub which has 3 usb 3, 1 usb C power delivery and a HDMI port. And with that I use an external logitech keyboard and mouse (wireless), which costed me Rs. 1500. I've been using my mac extensively, uptime being over 6 months, battery lasts for more than 11 hours. And the best thing is I can carry my MacBook Air 13 inch anywhere and I don't even carry a charger sometimes. What I think is mac gives you best power to cost ratio. I've used Windows (for 8 years), the only thing I did was to figure out why my laptop was not connecting to wifi. It's better you install some flavour of linux

I have both, and use linux in VMware (windows 10), i find myself using MacBook air m1 the most, battery life is huge, you can take it anywhere, taking it to college is no pain. My windows laptop (lenovo y740) was so heavy, it was a pain carrying. And tbh in MacBooks you will not feel the ram issue that much, i use Firefox ( 30+tabs) + vscode/sublime/geany or xcode, no issues. You can get student discount on buying the air m1 (89k), usually 92k EACH AND EVERY POINT YOU MENTIONED WERE CORRECT. But some people buy very expensive windows(non-gaming). One of my friend bought a zenbook for 91k, in that case better buy a MacBook air m1. And regarding docks, you can use cheaper one's. The one mentioned in the video is hella expensive. Tbh the dock is the only extra investment i have made apart from buying the laptop. I bought a hp type c dock for like 3.8k. The RAM is managed very well in this laptop, you will not feel any lack of it for 90% of the time. Xcode may push it. It's very difficult to explain how good the battery is. Stats from screen time :(top four & their primary tasks) 1)7h31m ( sublime+ firefox+terminal+ discord) 2)9h15( firefox (almost 4h) + music) 3)7h58( firefox+ vscode) 4)5h32m (terminal+ sublime text ) //These are subjective, if you keep playing 4k videos then time will be shorter. Drawbacks: 1) no gaming 2) machine learning maybe 3) i don't think using virtual machines will be a good idea in air m1 4) if you buy the 256gb one, don't keep movies etc, i have the 512 model, till now i have used 81gb in almost 1 year. Without xcode it will be very small, xcode is taking like 21gb. I have some .dmg(similar to .exe) files(installer) that i can delete to free up like 2 gigs more. I have 9 year old MacBook Pro. Only reason I am not upgrading is because of M1 processor. it's not yet compatible with many developer tools.Also, if you develop for iOS or Mac than Mac is the only option as Xcode is Mac OS exclusive. For web dev or devops , I would definitely recommend intel based PC. half the price, same power and full compatibility!

I have MacBook Air M1 from 1 year... I purchased it by considering it as a long term investment.. I know anything can get damage on any point even if it is expensive... But the reason to buy it even after that is - it will always going to last longer than a windows laptop.. I didn't said it will never broke, but it will always having an upper edge on smoothness, updates, multitasking, battery and built.. Software can be used as pirated and side by side we can also run Windows OS. And I also enjoyed a little bit gaming on it too like GTA 5, TOMB RIDER, FORTNITE, GOD OF WAR, PSP emulators games etc. A 40k windows laptop also can't do proper gaming with 60fps so it's gaming I consider as Fine in accordance of it is not a gaming one. If you really wanted to "enjoy" the gaming part,you should get console.

Harry is right. Ports are too much important in laptop. I have hp laptop and it doesn't have ethernet port so I had to buy convertor which costs me 1000 rs. So with 2 USB type c ports in MacBook you can't do anything.

All of the facts stated by Harry bhai are absolutely true. The people should be aware of these facts before buying one. But if you can afford to pay the price, these may not be the reasons to buy a mac. If you buy anything that have a huge price tag attached to it, the maintenance cost of the same will also be high. If you can bear that, close your eyes and go for a mac. Moreover, macs are targeted for business users and not for gamers. If you are a casual gamer keep a secondary windows laptop for that.
In previous years I was using a Windows laptop. But after 2 years the keyboard started giving issues, and after two days of the issues my motherboard was burnt, and that cost me more than 17000 motherboards. Windows laptops are also an issue, but they are cheap; that's why we don't consider these things.
What softwares you are talking about? i don't agree on that point for eg. if we are buying creative cloud it will cost the same on mac and windows both, you should have given a example of which software would cost extra on a mac!

From a developer's perspective 👍🏻, I can very well afford MacBook but me and many(well majority) of developers I know will put their money on something like Dell XPS with Windows. Windows on SSD and the WSL(Subsystem for Linux) changed everything. I used Ubuntu on a Dell Vostro laptop for 5 yrs, and libre office for all generic stuffs. Then I switched to Windows on ASUS vivobook with 500GB of SSD which costed me Rs 68k, after Windows brought WSL to run Linux right inside in Windows. Now i feel like I'm using both Ubuntu -22.04 and Windows 11. 👍🏻👏

Bro i am appreciate you specifiying the drawbacks, all that is true yes. But there are many pros as well. You should have had made a video showing pros and cons both, instead of just cons. Example: Kubernetes Deployment and many completed tasks , MacOS is linux based and it is very easy to work on any project locally on MacOS. Windows doesnt support many package installations like Kubernetes CLI so people who use WIndows create a Linux Server and code on a linux server. Also one more thing you missed out here. That is the professional community of video editors, musicians, animators. They prefer Mac Ecosystem so they go to some grey market and get it for cheap even a 2012 macbook. I have friends using 2012 macbook in 2022 and still works great. Also the cost if you buy directly from the US it is cheaper. Just like you want clients who pay dollars, buy a macbook in dollars it will cost you much cheaper than any Apple gadget in indian ruppees. About Apple, i recommend to my friends and collegues to buy some 2 or 3 year old models for lower prices instead of going for latest Apple Gadgets and trust me those devices will work for more than 10 years with ease, compared to other products in the market.

@@himanshuaggarwal91 yes windows has something called chocolatey in comparison to mac ecosystem where you have homebrew, but it is very complicated so people create a linux or ubuntu server and do development work on that server instead of windows. that is the only way by installing some ubuntu on Virtual Machine or a server, doing locally on windows Kubernetes and other DevOps work is a nightmare

The only issue is the pricing, if you can afford there’s no better choice than The MacBook but if you can’t then surely go for some windows laptop. I personally don’t agree with the guy, seldom if ever I’ve seen a better trackpad or keyboard or display on any other device than the MacBook, yes you can’t play games but it’s not meant for gaming, the company never claims that it is a hardcore gaming device. It’s a performance oriented device and can be used for media consumption and in that very field no one’s even close to the Mac, not even the laptops priced double the MacBook running windows in them. Lastly about the accessories, yes they are a little expensive but you gotta buy them once then you’re free. The touch, feel and performance of MacBooks are unmatched even if you compare it with the most expensive windows laptops present in the market.

my only issue with macbook is that even little spec bumps spikes up the price by a lot . 8 gigs to 16 gigs , 13 inch to 16 inch , 256 to 512 ssd all of those have terrible price bumps . And you have to buy laps with permanent specs .
Thank you bhaiyya. This is most needed video. MacBook is a great machine but only for professionals. Students buy MacBook by hearing it from so called bhaiyya but MacBook is totally for professionals.
I believe after windows 10, windows has improved quiet a lot in terms of boot speed and operation speed. I would have bought mac earlier but updated version of windows is simply amazing.just make share you have ssd in laptop
@PicsArtist bro I'm using win11 n I'm a windows user since xp.. so I can say that it's not that bad ..it's good now.. only if you have SSD then use it.

I bought a top of the line MacBook Pro in 2016 and I don’t regret it till date. I agree with all your points but it’s made for a specific group of people those who fit in this, it’s a heaven for them. It’s mainly for artists, coders and editors. They charged me 56000 for a battery replacement 😂😂😂. Didn’t get it replaced tho.
@@Vedant-M backup is around 2 hours maximum is i do some coding while listening to music in full brightness of both keyboard and display with speakers in use. In editing maximum of 1 hour usage. Doesn't bother me coz it's sitting at the same place whole day coz i have an extended monitor connected

I was expecting architecture level drawbacks, ye to bhot common and well known points hai , they are not drawbacks , its just matter of money. After owning Lenovo thinkpad, Dell XPS and mac m1 pro , I love macbook, its just few tech architecture I am forced to use a windows system separately

#HarryBhai As a college student we want slim and powerful laptops. Does new 12th gen i5 with 16gb ram enough for android development and gaming. Without dedicated graphics card as heavy laptops are uncomfortable.
@Who TF are you? I know I can get rtx 3050 but than laptop become too bulky 2kg and battery life max to 3-4 hrs. Gaming is not important just to chill.
@@sanyam4638 no bro you can lower the performance settings and stuff and you will get the same battery life as normal laptops.. It doesn't matter gaming is your priority or not but if you are taking a laptop you will have in mind that i will use this for bla bla years.. any how you'll need performance.. get a dedicated gpu laptop it will be best..
