I was beginning to think they didn’t make medal valve cover caps with the built in valve core remover on the end. Had to do a lot of scrolling through Amazon before I found them. Lots of fancy coloured caps, lots with different designs but I only found a couple with the built in core remover. I keep one on each bike, saves bringing another tool with me. I’ve never used flat out but probably should because it seems I get 2 flats a year. Can you let us know in a future video if you feel the liquid in the tires well riding? Even if I used flat I would probably still carry a tire repair kit. Sure more tech videos, it’s all helpful. Happy riding.

@electrifiedlatina6871 6 месяцев назад
Hey Bob! I didn’t see all those fancy colored caps! That’s a clever idea to just have one on each bike so you don’t have to bring an extra tool! You know what as of right now, I had never felt the liquid, BUT my mechanic added too much Flatout to one of my e-bikes and now I can feel it and it’s not very fun! It feels lumpy to ride and a little wobbly at higher speeds- so I’m learning by trial and error to measure how much liquid your putting in according to the size tire your using. Always a great idea to bring a tire repair kit! Okay more technical videos on the way! Thanks for sharing my friend ❤🙏🏾

Hi replied but it's gone? so I will reply again, No I don't have a wired bike but wish I did! LOL!! Flatout makes a few types in the quickstrike formula for fat bikes and normal bike and mountain bike tires now and also the good thing is I asked them if you can mix the new one with the original version and they said yes so if you want to thin out the original thick stuff I guess you can mix them both together and do so. Glad to help ya!@@electrifiedlatina6871

Electrified Latina - I think that it is great that you did this little tutorial within a video. It is a simple procedure that most anyone can do, but it always nice to watch someone perform it before your own attempt to make the task less intimidating. I also liked the attention that you brought to making sure that tire was evenly spaced on the rim before full inflation to avoid having the tire feel unbalanced. I am yet to try this Flatout product, I need to purchase some once my Slime reserves run out and give Flat Out a test. We have an abundance sticker, thorns, and cactus needles in my ridescape. Great useful video! You may consider doing one in the future on chain cleaning and lubing the chain. Another task that often gets over looked, but has a huge impact on pedaling efficiency and chain life intervals.

According to the company, the valve stem needs to be at 3 oclock so the flat out runs down into your tire. Leaving the stem at the bottom is not the correct way and may prevent flow of the liquid on install.

How much weight does that flat out add to the tires, and how long will the protection last before needing more? Has anyone tired those foam inserts that go between the inner tube and the tire inside the rim? Might be lighter rotational rolling mass /resistance and can use lower tire pressures to increase comfort/handling of ride and traction of tire. Jus curious how those products perform? Great Video though. Thank You Miss Electrification!!! ; ) Keep on riding!!! I get my new Freedom mid-month I'm hoping! Happy February to all!!!!
@robotbroken
@robotbroken 6 месяцев назад
Electrified Latina is using the inserts that you are referring to on her X-Class eBike. I’m sure that she will be happy to discuss that with you when she gets off work and has time to address your question. As far as sealant goes, it will depend on the size of your tire for how much you will want to use. I am yet to use this Flat Out brand sealant, but have heard nothing but good things about it. I am still using Slime brand because that is what I have on the shelf. I may use about two ounces of the product per 26 x 2 - 2.5 tire. You want to have just enough inside the inner tube to seal potential punctures. Once the product is in your tube there is no need to add more at a later date.

Great video! Nice to know. I should probably get some in my tires. Thanks! As a side note hillbilly job I did once on a 26x12x12 tubeless zero turn mower. I put water and about a half a coffee can of pig feed in it. Emergency get stuff done situation for work. It plugged the huge hole. And next day when I went to fix it right I took the valve stem core out and it plugged the valve stem too. Had to keep pushing a little stick in there to get the air out. My thinking was it may work like that green slime. It worked! lol Obviously wont work in winter and probably only try that for short term low speed tires. Get the right stuff if you can but in a pinch. :)

I need to get some FlatOut also and give it a try. I’ve heard good stuff about it outside of this channel, too. As an ex-Parks employee, I have spent more hours of my life on zero-turn radius mowers than I care to remember. So I especially enjoyed your story. That was a very ingenious short term fix!

Pig feed and water, I’ve never heard of that one before but it makes sense. lol. Red Green would be proud of you. I know about a 1/2 shaker of pepper and a raw egg work good for stopping a leaking radiator. I just happen to Amazon buy the Flatout 32 oz product 2 days ago. $17 and some change for the exact 32 oz package your video demonstrates. We have used similar products in our Side by Sides, ATV's and off road Motorcycles. This product will stay a liquid in the tires for at least 10 years. The only comment i would like to add is you should have the valve stem at 3:00 O'clock when adding this tire sealing product. It will seal a hole upto 1/2". It has great reviews. Who wants to deal with a flat tire on a trail? Especially the rear tire. Thanks Electrified Latina and Mr. Mechanic J. I read further down in comments that the liquid in the tire will be going around and around and the feeling you will not like. I think if you only add the proper amount for the size of your tires it will be just fine. I do not want the hassle of a flat tire. especially the rear tire. Wear a helmet. Get out there and have fun! Some exercise and fresh air will do you good. The Sun gives us Vitamin "D".for strong bones and strong teeth, lowers high blood pressure,, helps prevent diabetes and helps our immune system to name a few. Chopper Mike.

@@electrifiedlatina6871 Sharing is caring. I care about our freedom to ride bike trails sharing with the public.Yesterday we rode another part of the famous River Mountains Loop Trail in Boulder City NV.. into Lake Mead National Recreational Area Park. I will publish a video in a day or 2 on RU-vid. I had a slight accident on me Ebike. I hit a bump in the concrete changing to asphalt and my water bottle bounced out of my rear rack bags holder. I stopped but when i got my feet on the ground the bike was leaning too far to the right side and down i went on my side and back still holding the handle bars. I wear a helmet and it didn't hit the ground. Now the bike was flat on me. After cursing a couple of times i got myself back up and evaluated my body and the bike. My right side hit the ground first then my back. I was mad at myself. I'm as tough as a 2 dollar steak. The only slight damage to me was my right knee was a little bruised and my back hurt a little. From my riding Eskateboards i have a history of several falls on paved trails. This fall was my least damage i have had. I got up and uprighted my Ebike. The right side pedal was folded up from the fall. I snapped it back and it was fine. On my cargo rack lower attachment bar black paint of about 1/8" was missing. That was it. No other damage found. Cameron picked up my water bottle and put it back in the rear bag holder. We continued our ride. My joints at first were a little sore but after riding 5 to 10 minutes i felt fine. It was more of a shock to my body. From then on when the pavement changed from concrete to asphalt or asphalt to concrete i slowed down and my water bottle made the entire ride. This morning l feel great including my right knee. That saying "Walk it off" sometimes it works. It might be my mind sensed my fall and adrenaline kicked in. This has happen to me several times riding my Eskateboards. We road a total of just over 23 miles. The hardest part of River Mountains Loop trail we will ride another day. Chopper Mike.
