Very impressive! I've always been a road bike guy but my legs are getting old so I also have an Fat tire ebike that I use for club gravel rides. Your point about a hub drive is a good one and I always pray for no rear flat. Thanks for the tour, blue skies & tailwinds.
I am just getting into E Bikes and man...They have become a bit of an addiction to me...This was really enjoyable and inspiring me to use my E bike for longer journeys than just commuting for work and visiting friends and family...The most I have done in a day with my bike is around 30 miles and that was with a break to see family and a chance to charge the battery...We generally have too little Sun in the UK to rely on solar for long distance travel and I know too little about it right now...However, I am aiming for a spare battery to do distances...Thanks man...Liked and subbed...
You should have gone to Buffaloes for dinner they make the best burgers!! And you're a couple thousand feet off on Paysons elevation!! Sorry just saying! I lived there for 7 years!! Great video by the way!!
Eric.. enjoy your videos, I have an Ebike, pull solar trailer that expanded when parked. Been on several extended trips. Keep biking , be safe and enjoy.
New sub here, love the channel and the bike. Not too many pepsi guys out there that ive seen lol. Im a mt dew guy since the 80s, but ya make me wanna go try a pepsi. Pepsi should sponsor you cuz the subliminal hit, joint and all
Interesting video. We solar blanket e-bikers are a growing group. I have an e-mountain bike (E-MTB) E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown. 2 motors (AWD), 2 batteries, dual suspension. It's a cargo bike that can haul 400 pounds, including my weight. Great for hunting and to haul out boned-out big game meat. Not cheap at $5,100.but very good quality and the HQ is in Pahrumo 50 miles north of Las Vegas. MY CHARGING SYSTEM: I have an Off Grid TREK 220 watt solar blanket and an Elejoy adjustable controller with cables. All from Off Grid TREK in Canada. My solar blanket ie 3' wide and 6' long and waterproof. Made with SunPower flexible solar panels and weighs 12 pounds, 14 pounds with controller sis cables.
Really enjoyed the extended cut, amazing ride, tenacity and you crack me up. Looking forward to watching you overcome more self-created challenges soon! ;-)
Dang Eric, watching and trying to live vicariously through your channel makes me feel like I really could do it, I need this, help getting together a dependable bike set-up,and could probably put as much as 4 to 6 thousand if I had to,to be able to build something really great could we get to know each other and work on a friendship please,I'm trying not to seem desperate, serious Eric, but dog gone it I'm just not a hundred percent of my body anymore, but I eat great and exercise and am really trying hard to live longer. I hope you're not freaking out on me, I don't know how this is coming across, and I'm really self-conscious about this
Wayne, thank you for your heartfelt message. I appreciate your honesty and determination. It’s inspiring to hear that you’re committed to living a fulfilling life despite physical challenges. While I can’t promise anything, I’m open to connecting and discussing bike setups. Let’s explore the possibilities! Feel free to reach out via email, and we’ll take it from there. 🌟🚲
Eric, your friken awesome guy, you remind me of myself 30 years ago but I'm still in it Eric, it's great people like yourself that keeps me in the fight for life, and I wish I didn't have to refer to it as a fight, but my situation is a bit unusual, I've broken my neck and back 3 times between them both. I am getting ready to do what you're doing, ill be traveling from Chicago to San Diego. I'm 62 now and I need to," i don't know exactly why im so set on doing this but I am. And I need to.
The tube split. Did have slime in it. Now I run tubeless and will never go back unless it a emergency and those also then have slime in them. So far I have never needed the backup tube! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RLT3mJv7IYw.html
@@Eric_Tennant I got belt drive, hub gears, kevlar tyres. Took a complete tool kit but it was not required. Great video, I really related to sun harvesting aspect. I use Allpowers S700 and 100W solar blanket for my trip.
Dude that's crazy literally Riding on the highway I'm liking AZ 🤣👍 Got some beautiful landscapes out there especially the bend with the mountain in the background hell ya 🤘🏻

Really cool trip congratulations 🎊 👏 I have definitely run into water problems in the desert south west . I even had to beg a little 😔 because I didn't learn my lesson. I wasn't to impressed with the solar that part didn't seem to work out . I did like the high speed death wobble and officers friendly though . You can hang your bike to change a flat tire that's what I do especially on loaded touring bike . Mid drive will break the spokes and the chain ⛓ 🙃. In my opinion delivering torque to the out side of the bicycle wheel seems to do least amount of damage. Thanks again for the video 👍 it was really cool 😎
With double the solar it would of work out without so many hotel rooms and that RV park at big lake. Even still, I'm a bit addicted to hotels after not showering for a while. Lately I been riding a human powered MTB hardtail. I have done one tour on the flat-ish part of AZ on it. Next one I'm going 20% road, 20% single track, and 60% gravel up into the mountains (Hike-A-Bike I'm sure). Just waiting for the mountains snow to start melting.
Odd - I had really good luck with the mid-drive on the old bike (stolen 3/2021). No chain breakage, no broken spokes. Only problem I had was the chain *gnawing* my trousers! (Made an elastic strap for trousers.)
@@dennisyoung4631 sounds like he's going to have saved you a fortune on trousers. I use a 100 dollar 79cc four stroke clutch less friction drive. So simple a cave man could do it. It gets over140 mpg before peddling with 400lb loadout with rider . I rode it from Florida to California and back in 40 days this year . Did you ever go anywhere on the trouser 👖 eater 🤔 ?
@@Jarrod_D yes, to get groceries, (25 - 40+ miles, with trailer); doctor’s appointments - up to 40 miles; hardware stores; and many other places. Current build will use a 31 amp-hour battery, so I should manage up to ~ 80 miles on a charge. (All that remains is the brakes, which I should get next month, and then I can begin assembly.) And yes, I have an EHO-35 engine, that was to be part of a friction drive. Still might fit it if I look to try 100+ mile days.
Indeed night riding has many advantages in the desert. Pre-bug I would shop at Walmart in the middle of the night. Then they changed their hours so more people could be in the same place at the same time so we would become infected. Top it off then they had us all use the same exit/entrants. #WalmartWantMeDead
how is your brakes expenses ? i have 3 e bikes pedal assist and they go tru brakes . center motor and they are expensive . i guess the labor . no regent .
I try to use regen; however after long tour like this one the back pads does need replaced. Slowing above 40 mph eat them up fast. Thinking about a mid drive for a off road solar tour.
If you're ordering the quarter pounder then you need to include the onions, they are legit unlike the freeze dried ones they have on the other burgers.
I say 1/1000 odds of that happening for me. They have sold my loans so many times I don't even know who I owe and who are scammers. It's been so many years I figure I'll let god sort it out. Sucks to say but the for profit school road ended up being one of my bigger mistakes in my life so far. I have had to learn to live life without credit and that is a good thing.
@@Eric_Tennant Hello Eric.. i was being ironic.. joeyB lied during the campaign.. Sorry my sarcasm was misinterpreted..:) Many are in the same boat.. And because a 4year degree inflated to triple it's value.. it means that there is no way anyone with a 4 year degree can get a job that pays enough to pay off the over inflated college loan prices.. And everyone with outstanding SL debt will have their SSI taken if it isn't paid off before retirement. SL is not consumer debt, it is gov't debt.. The Biden administration is counting on the fact that the population cannot retire, and the gov't won't have to pay out SSI benefits.. i'm sorry i was joking about a serious topic.. May God be with you and your family. PEACE
Well. Here the thing. I went and looked some stuff up and you may of sent me to some news about my school (Devry Grad of 2008) www.forbes.com/sites/adamminsky/2022/01/14/navient-student-loan-settlement-who-qualifies-for-relief-and-what-to-do/?sh=72534f6c6156 . Lol Wohoo 1/1000 I think I just played the 14 year long game. :) 🙂😀😆😂. On a sad note my degree really was worthless.
Wow. I'm in shock. Thank you. My debt was around $120k, and was growing fast. Now my kid can inherit more then just my dust. I also now get to keep all of me and my wife tax returns. Now if they would also fix my credit score from all of this would be nice not that I even want or need a loan.
@@leemoakes1843 I see headlight on grown. A Trail of lights above it that look like the city off in the distance, and the lights reflecting off my glasses.
