Great list! I believe everyone should Live below their means" adjust their lifestyle, be frugal, budget, save and invest. This helped me out as a 6 figure earner. I've grown over half a million in retirement savings with this method

My library has magazines. If I want to read them, I just borrow them. And I adore my cherry pitter. Way less waste!

I laughed right out loud when you showed the ripped towel! We’ve been married 36 years and we still have functional towels from our wedding showers… we got soooooo many! Well, they are finally giving out! And I’ve decluttered them to our animal shelter. My hubby is 6’7” and I’m 6’ so we got a couple of beautiful beach towels because they are such a better fit for our bodies! We love them! I wonder if they will last 36 more years? 😅 hahhahaha… I kinda doubt it but we shall see! Thanks for the video! ❤

The makeup part cracked me up when you squished your eyelids down! 😆 I did a decluttering challenge in January to get rid of 5 items each day and I'm now the proud ex-owner of eyeshadow, mascara, foundation, and lipstick/lipgloss. Most days, I just use an eyebrow pencil and non-tinted lip balm but I held on to a bit of blush and concealer for now. I was going to start wearing eyeliner again so I chucked one that was around 15 years old and replaced it with one by e.l.f. but the damn thing irritates my eyes. I hate waste so hopefully I can make a trade with my daughter because I'll have to throw it out otherwise.

My favorite is the adoooorable Crumpet (name and kitty) and her banana box!!! So freaking cute😻

I just found your channel and love it!!! My husband and I have Contigo water bottles because if they break, the company will actually replace them FREE of charge! When we moved into our new home 10 years ago, we didn't have any book shelves as our old home had built-ins. We had boxes and boxes of books and knick knacks, and they stayed there for a year after moving. I realized that I didn't miss any of it. We ended up having a garage sale and donated what didnt sell. The only things I kept were things that were sentimental and had meaning. I couldn't stand my Keurig. We ended up buying one of those fancy pod holders which took up room on the counter and I hated how expensive all the pods were. Not to mention, the coffee was always to weak. It also broke not even a year later. We tossed it and invested in a Ninja coffee bar with a reusable coffee filter, so I dont have to buy coffee filters anymore either.

Crumpet is the spitting image of my cat Leo....who also sleeps in a box!

I got a Stanley cup for free from my husband's work before they were trendy, and now that they're trendy I feel so self-conscious using it!! 😅

For the living room I would get rid of the whole entertainment center and wall mount the tv and maybe go with a simple floating shelf underneath like a mantle.

The shelf unit: Begone!!!!! I feel like you already know this. You could take down one side of the vertical shelves and recenter the TV with an L shaped shelf and base configuration. Or just remove the display shelves altogether. I prefer gallery walls to shelves of knickknacks, but it's probably a different form of clutter. Best wishes, you are fun to listen to!

When I saw a previous video you did on the furniture surrounding your TV, I thought then that if I were you, I would get rid of one shelving unit, put the other somewhere else in your living room, or in another room for books and ornaments, you don't have enough to fill two units, and it would be so much easier to concentrate on the TV without the visual clutter around it. I think it would lighten the room up a lot and you could maybe buy or paint(!) a couple of pictures to go where the bookcases were. It would certainly be a lot less to dust and "manage". If I remember correctly, you have a sort of bridging cupboard linking the two units but that should be reasonably easy to get rid of. What do you think? I like your list of "stuff I won't buy anymore". Most of it I don't buy either, makes life a lot simpler! Thanks for your channel, I always enjoy the ones I watch.

As far as your living room storage thingy what I would do is get rid of the left and right shelves, keep the storage drawers under the TV, if you need that storage -- maybe paint it another color or buy a different style. Or for a big change, get rid of all of it and have your bare walls. I don't see the point of having humongous shelves with just a couple of accent pieces on them to give them a reason for being there. Those shelves would be great if you had a lot of books. Ok, you asked.....🙃 Love your channel!

Just a comment on the printer, if you haven’t tried it get a brother printer. I’m a homeschool mom of 5 kids we use our printer like crazy and our printer has lasted almost 7 years now ❤

Your list and my list are exactly the same, I will replace broken or worn out if I still need them but apart from that there is nothing new coming into our home 😊 xxxxxx

I’m with your husband on buying the kayaks. We’ve had the best times on our kayaks and have been able to kayak our favorite places when the water level and weather were perfect, without wondering if kayaks would be available to rent.

About the shelf, my crazy idea would be getting fabric baskets that blend in color with it. It would be "full" but would look less cluttered. Put practical things in the baskets and skip the decorations.

Cardboard boxes in your living room is non-negotiable for cat parents!😂❤😻

The magazines reminded me of when you said one in - one out when you spoke of your cookbooks. I get quilting magazines (from an aunt as a gift) so I know what you mean! LOL!

Great list! I have done most of these in the last year. One difference is with the paper napkins. I went the route of getting fabric ones that I just throw in the wash. They’re heavy cotton with a bold color pattern so they don’t show stains.

Someone somewhere knowing every selection I make for a CD or a movie, creeps me out. When electricity goes out, you can still use your landline. A landline is emergency backup. What about using cloth napkins and not using any paper at all. Otherwise, BRAVO.

Can you remove all the shalves on both sides.And put giant plant or smth.Or removing number of shalves will also help to streemline the look.😊❤

Just back from Costco (where I have vowed only to buy what I can eat/drink/consume) & …as you mention each item, I say “amen” & take a swig of water from my non-trendy water bottle. Okay….now to declutter my shoes.

The less i have the happier I am. That includes decor. We have a few large artworks on the walls and very few flat surfaces in the house. It really limits the decor items that we have. It also makes it easy to clean. I hate cleaning so this is a plus. I would probably do away with the bookshelves if they were in my house.

I totally agree with all of this except for the Stanley water bottle. I treated myself to one at Christmas with a bonus I received and it’s all I use even at home. It keeps this cold forever , has a handle, screw on lid that doesn’t come out and it’s dishwasher safe!! Can’t say enough good things about it and it’s all I use so I don’t have several different water bottles cluttering up my cabinets❤️❤️❤️

I vote get rid of both bookshelves - they are so stressfully busy to the mind even though you've worked so hard to do them so well, it has zero to do with you and all to do with them. Then, in their place, I would do a tall plant on each side of the tv - or very non-busy, corresponding artwork on each side of the tv (2 pieces total) There are also like some hanging wall plant options instead of the tall standing plant option

Recently I watched a Natalie Bennett RU-vid video, she did a redo of her living room. It gave me an idea to share with you. You could remove the two shelving units from beside your tv credenza. She used a diy wall treatment and moved around her plants. It made a remarkable transformation. Worth watching. I listened to all the things you listed that you no longer buy. I think I have nailed it, I don’t think I buy or collect any of those things. The journey to minimalism is paying off. Life is so much calmer with less stuff. The hardest thing for me to declutter was fabric. I used to quilt. I donated ALL of it to a quilting group, even notions. Closed my sewing machine after Covid and have not opened it since.

What will your family give you for Christmas??? Like is there something you WOULD want- as in there’s a lot of not buying things…🎄🎄
