*To avoid being shocked* The part at the bottom of the camera that looks like a small battery with wires is called a capacitor and it is what holds a charge that can shock you, if you take the metal part of a screwdriver and touch it to the ends of both wires on the capacitor, there will be a big spark and a loud bang but it is completely safe, and this will completely remove the chance of being shocked, just for anyone that may want to know! I was so mad at myself because my instax had stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. I can't believe it only needed a new pair of betteries! The light indicating what mode to put the camera on still doesn't work, but I can live with that. THANK YOU for this video!

i put new film into my camera but its not taking photos, like in the first camera you showed, but none of the lights are flashing and the red light on the back is on! i've tried energizer alkaline lr6 batteries and its still not working! do you know how to fix it???
I see that there’s a problem with the latch after it still not working with the right batteries and taking it apart, I just can’t get it to stay latched where it should be. Any tips on how you got it latched there and to stay ?

Omg this helped so much. My old batteries leaked acid on the inside so I had to take it apart. But I wasn't sure which pieces went back as some flew out when opening ! Your close ups helped so much!

Samantha Sanchez try taking a pic if it sounds like its printing but its not try taking out the film cartridge and seeing if the protective film cartridge is stuck then that is the problem
Thank you so much for this video, my instax mini 11 had a sticky shutter button and it jammed. I was able to pull the camera apart and fix the sticky shutter button, now it’s works perfect again and the button isn’t jammed.

Hey got a question.. Seem like a life saver 😊❤ I know this video so last year lol. Got mini 8 camera as well bought two years ago.. Barley used recently tried using it for some reason then motion sensor to change setting doesn't work for me. Tried switching to new batteries still didn't work so end up buying a new one the mini 9 off of someone from my Ig shop page. I was thinking it was the whole camera having the issue. It's doing the same thing as well like the 8. Do you think it's the batteries? Have to use Duracell alkaline one for it to work?
Hi so i was dumb and i broke the dial for the light settings for my mini instax 7s because it wasnt moving and i thought with a little force it would be fine but no. I was wondering if you could help ? The camera settings part looks way different and since the dial is super loose im not sure what to do or what to look for if i take it apart. It works fine its just the settings dont work
hey so my girlfriend has an instax mini 7+ we put a film in the wrong way and went to take a picture now the little lever that pushes the picture out of the camera makes a clicking noise as soon as you turn in on and the orange light on the front rapidly blinks. I looked messed around with it for about an hour to no avail do you have any ideas? if so it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for sharing! You saved my camera too. I was able to put it back but now my light setting is off. I think my sunny and indoor settings are reverse or offset. Can you complain more how to check the light setting thing works and how to make sure they are aligned correctly?
Honestly this camera is really wishy washy a good rule of thumb is when outside set to the sunny mode for sure and when inside set to the indoor/house mode.
itsTeodore thanks. I’m pretty sure I messed it up when I opened it though. It used to work pretty well. My guess is I shifted the little light setting gear so what it does doesn’t really match up with the display. Have you encountered this?
Hello! I have the flashing lights issue (to my understanding it means error, now to find the error! Haha). I opened my camera and when I press the shutter button nothing happens and the lights flash. I found the mechanism thingy to the side of the lens that actually opens the lens to capture an imagine but it doesn't open when I press the shutter. When I move it and press the shutter at the same time it opens and the flash works, however there is no sound of picking up film or rollers :/. Would you have any way to help me? I don't know if the only issue is the mechanism that needs to be fixed or more. Would be able to help me ? Thank you! And thank you for your video! If you pop off the front cover, it may be that a small piece snapped off one of the plastic lens covers. You can super glue it back together like she did with the shutter button, and then just place them so that they fit together and cover the lens. It should work, there aren't any springs I can see.
I chaged my batteries and it says that it is alkaline battery but all the lights are still blinking. what should I do? do you think my cam's broken???? or should I try a duracell alkaline battery?
Hi! My camera is an instax mini 9, I have alkaline LR6 1.5 V batteries (exactly how it says on the camera) and when I turn it on there's nothing happening. I'm sure a film is stuck cause I can't remove the film catridge but there's no light. There's nothing. Do you have any advice? Or thoughts why is that? I really don't know what to do, and I'm freaking out that my camera is fully destroyed even tho I took care of it very well :((
With the long spring that attaches the case and the mechanical inside part, is that essential as I took my camera apart and I’ve lost that spring. Thanks x

Hi! What should i do when the film got stuck in the camera? I just refilled it with new film cartridge and when i take a shot with the first photo (sample photo/the black one/the thing that covers the whole film) it got stuck and it didn't come out. The lights keep on blinking. Im planning to just fix it in the fujifilm service center here in my country. I would really appreciate it if you would reply. Tnx

Hi! A film got stuck and after removing it, it won’t capture anymore and the light kept on blinking and I have changed batteries a lot of times already. I figured out that the metal thing at the right side of the camera (seen when there is no film) is not down where it usually is. They said that it should be put down but it won’t go down even if I force it to. I hope you can help me!
I have a Fujifilm instax mini 9, I turned it on and it made the noise. So I pressed the shoot button and the film cover didn't eject. So I turned it off, so I can try it again but now it doesn't turn on. No lights at all or sound. I changed the batteries, it is alkaline. I put them in the right way too. Any suggestions? Khadijah Jones take out the film, and put a new one on, the film might be stuck to the camera. It happened to me and i just took it out, put a new one in and it did work again
Thanks for the video and will try to get some alkaline batteries and try. About the shocks its probably due to capacitor holding the charge and can be up to hundreds or thousands of volts. It is used for the flash. Yes it will shock if you offer it a discharge path. It best to give it some time to discharge without battrties for 24hrs before opening it or avoid touching the areas known to offer the discharge path.
So I tried taking a picture with my camera and it didn't work! All I got were blinking red lights. So I put new batteries (energizer) in and it still didn't work. It made no difference. I put my film and batteries into my sisters camera and they both worked perfectly fine for her camera. So I bought new film and put another pair of energizer batteries into my camera and it still doesn't work! I still get the red blinking lights! Idk what else to do!
is there a way to fix a scratched up viewfinder? i'm not really sure if its a glass or plastic ones you find in the instax mini cams so i don't know if i scratch it when i clean the view finder sometimes if its plastic

Today I dropped my camera slightly , but it was from 3 inches -4 inches above ground , and I was worried because the lights for light setting was flashing , but I replaced it with Duracell batteries , and it worked !

I have a fujifilm mini 8 camera and it was working just fine, until one day I turned it on and the only setting that would light up was the one pictured as a house (indoor) im guessing, even if I turn the lens to a different setting, the "house" setting is still lit up?! So now just about every picture I take comes out super dark. Is there something I can do to fix this ?

My mini 8 camera turns on. Red light at the backs (at the viewfinder) stays on and the light for brightness setting doesnt go on. Tried to replace a set of batteries. Didn’t do anything. I used 1.5v alkaline battery. So I’m pretty sure it isn’t the battery. Any idea what went wrong? Thanks! Previously a film got stuck and I had to forcefully remove that film. So my film indicator is also jammed between transitioning from 1 to 0.
Hi, what an interesting video ! I am having an issue with my instax mini 9, so since you seem to be quite knowledgeable about it, i'm gonna shoot my shot hoping you or your community has any clue what to do. I have shot 4 pictures with my camera so far, and out of the 4 only one developped correctly. The other 3 came out white and then developped fully black. I have a hunch it might have to do with a faulty shutter, but i really don't know... I bought it second hand, though barely used by the previous owner, but still, I don't think that makes me elligible for warranty from fujifilm or anything... If anyone has any idea, please help ! x) :)
the capacitor (black cylinder) and attached contacts are what shocked you they are for the xeon flash bulb circuit because it needs to store alot of power and then release it suddenly for the flash (this obviously means that when the camera is off the power can still be present) Imagine a capacitor as a water tank filling up and then a gate suddenly being opened to let it all out when you press a button.

When I take a picture it comes out perfectly but it does not develop and it just keeps keeps it on the white screen and I hate it and it will never work and I mean I think it's just because the ink isn't working but I hate it so much but it's just so annoying so I hope that I can get this fixed in the matter of time cuz I got this for Christmas and I got this like two days ago yeah so
