🟡 Norwegian Gem | The Forts Of Old San Juan Puerto Rico. A Little History Never Hurts!

Ahoy Nu Yawkers! Today we are going to learn a little history, (it's not that bad). During a recent cruise on the Norwegian Cruise Line's beautiful ship Gem, I did an excursion of Old San Juan Puerto Rico. While exploring the historic area I decided to check out some very old forts including El Moro, perhaps the most famous of all. Join me today as I do my best to give you a guided tour of these forts that are 500 years old! If you enjoy, please like, comment, ask questions, and most importantly, subscribe!

These old forts are amazing. I have never been to Puerto Rico, but the ones in St Augustine, FL are very similar. Obviously also built by the Spanish in the 16th Century. Talk about a contrast to Las Vegas, where things are constantly demolished and rebuilt! Funny how Spain and Portugal were such big shots once upon a time. Kind of like how the Browns and Lions played each other frequently in the NFL Championship Game in the 50s. Really puts things in perspective.

What's even funnier is that Las Vegas demolishes buildings and replaces them with buildings replicating history (Luxor, Excalibur, Caesars Palace and others)! Thanks for watching and subscribing JWD!

These forts were built hundreds of years ago. they survived numerous natural disasters. the walls must be 3 to 5 ft. thick. if so, this is how homes and buildings should be built in hurricane prone states here in the U.S. Do you know what kind of stone was used in building these forts?

@@richardsanty9063 I certainly would like to have my home built with those stones; it's reminding me of that Huff and Puff slot machine, LOL. I took a terrible loss at the casino this week, wow! Reminder: you could sit there betting 88cents for hours and not get anything. Just saying
