TRUE!!! This happened to my family, when my dad became successful. Family members criticized him and tried to dissuade him from his apprenticeship. He ignored them. He retired as, very happily and traveled with mom more than 20 years ago. They are in their 70's.

Please do distance yourself from your family. If they are like this now, they will be much worse after you’ve married and started your family. They are not supportive and that toxicity may spread into your relationship over time.
