I do like the Roland boutique version, I also own the software version however I do find a lot of the Roland vst’s sound awesome but they are a bit heavy on the cpu. I only have a M1 Mac with 16gb so maybe they are better with more powerful processors.
@@jenstornell Before you buy... you might wait for the next "Play4Life" promotional offer, regularly launched by Roland two or three times every year. This includes an *Ultimate* License for the Roand Cloud for 1 year. Towards the end of this period, you can cancel the subscription, however select two of the instruments, e.g. D-50 or JD-800, to keep them with a *lifetime* cloud license! I made use of this special offer end of last year, paid *222 EUR* - compared to that: a single perpetual license for a D-50 alone costs 145 USD! - and I am really happy with it. I have not yet decided which two instruments to keep - most probably the XV-5080 and then either D-50 or JD-800. Well, I have eight months left for my decision 🙂
@@jenstornell Exactly! ...and until mid December, I can try out all of the other stuff as well, like 808, 909, Juno, Jupiter and all of the SRX Expansion Boards, which they turned into standalone synths.
