The verb " get" is .not acceptable either spoken English or Standard Written English because in English the 2nd Language we have learned " verb to be" & universally accepted all over the world. And,, remember in English the definition of verb says: an action word & never used to describe an adjective. Verb to be: Example: to be involved: The verb involve became in the form of past tense because it is in the rules & regulations of Using Good English Correctly which mandated by the UNICEF Orgsnization through out the world... Again .. verb is an action word & never modifies adjective word whether regular adjectives or irregular adjectives.....
Dear Greg! Thanks a lot for your splendid work. But may ask you a question. I am a little bit confused at 9:12 min and I lost the logic. You wrote. "His got divorced 2 years after that". I mean, it might be you should write instead "He's (he has got) got divorced..." May be it is just miswritten at listening what is being pronounced, because it' sounds quite similar? Please, give me an answer anybody!
Greg has perfect English except one little thing must [mʌst] he pronounces like [must] and in other cases it sounds not like A but U:-))) Great explanation for beginners, there was nothing new to me but still good!!! Regards & good luck!
That's ridiculous about your verb usage of " get" because in English the Second Language it has a correct verb to be used to make the sentence sounds acceptable.. GET verb is only used in colloquial or spoken words. Never used in " standard of using English correctly..
Thank you Greg. I got a lot of money from my last job. Can you get some bread please? I have got a new pet. Could you repeat that again? I didn't get you. She gets to work at 9 o'clock everyday. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Why does it have to be so complicated? The word "get" is self-explanatory. It means acquiring a possession of something, whether it means spiritual ownership (suffer the consequences) or control of some thing.
Gosh ! Not again tapping error By all means I do prefer BE to AE Posh English Is the English spoken in Sussex I used to hitch hiked all around the península some decades ago,so I could notice the different accents and ways the locals usually speak and the dialects spoken in the península as well, apart from the languages spoken in Wales,Northen Ireland, and Scotland which have not got anything to do with the English language
Hello Greg! Thanks for your very useful lessons! May I ask you a question? Is this correct 'his got married /his got divorced' or we should write ' he's got married /he's got divorced'? (9:07) l'll be grateful for your answer
@@em_l4757 The correct sentences would be: "He got married..." and "He got divorced..." (He made a typing mistake... but pay attention to the pronunciation)
Now I got the best explication of how and when I can use the word get. I'm not sure if my first sentence is written grammatically. If there are mistakes, you can correct me.🙄
