A *Note* on reef safe sunscreen - It's most likely BS except maybe for in places where sunscreen can build up in high concentrations right near coral, like Hawaii and Australia. Science has proven that, in a lab, sunscreen ingredients may damage the environment. They have not proven that this is a legitimate problem for most places, mostly because the ocean is SO big. Current evidence suggests that the amount of sunscreen coming off of people's body is not enough to cause significant environmental damage. What is more likely is the warming of our oceans. Lab Muffin Beauty Science has great videos on the topic, and here is a fabulous article from the Smithsonian that explains it really well: ocean.si.edu/ecosystems/coral-reefs/truth-about-corals-and-sunscreen
I haven’t watched the entire video yet just saw this comment but as a previous resident of Hawaii I am pretty sure they don’t allow sunscreen that isn’t reef safe. Obviously they can’t stop tourists from bringing regular sunscreen but I don’t think on island they still anything that isn’t reef safe.
jen your fff videos are always a cut above the rest. you're so conscientious of skin sensitivities and mobility issues, it's amazing. I'm torn on the choices this time around after feeling rather 😐about the previous box. Then again, I share half of the products with my mom, so sometimes it's a struggle trying to figure out what I should get for her and what I should keep for myself lol
A thousand claps 👏 👏 👏 for this video! Thank you JenLuv! You highlighted some products I was looking at which has helped in my FFF Summer box choice. decision. THANK YOU for your honesty, wit and humor!
I think the luggage scale would add a lot of value to the box; I have a similar one and it's been such a convenience. It really takes away a lot of stress knowing you can rearrange your bags as needed before you get to the airport and avoid excess baggage fees.
Love your videos Jen! I've been an annual member for years, and have been debating cancelling my membership for awhile now. I thought Summer would be good so I waited... but this box was very disappointing (at least for me) and was the deciding factor of me getting a divorce and ending this very expensive relationship with FFF. With all the expired (or soon to be expiring) skin/body care products, damaged items, missing items, and my summer box that never arrived (which they had to resend me a month later, and some of my items were no longer available..) this lack luster box was my final run with this company. I'm glad it worked out for some people though
I watched this video twice. First while I was waiting for my box (I forget what I ordered) and second now because it came yesterday and I have the product to see if we chose the same thing.. You do the best FFF unboxing. You and Stephanie are the few that I've seen that show a picture and review of our choices which is wonderful. You even give info on the ones you didin't choose. I chose the Elemis (of course), Juice Beauty, Laniege blue water (tub), Rodial, Glowoasis, and the tray since it was navy and my apartment decor is medium to dark blue. I laughed when reading the label on the Elemis box that said for us not to eat it - it does smell good. Thank you for all your hard work and time bringing this box to us. I look forward to your FFF box the most!💙💗
I pulled my right hip flexor in collage. I have to stretch and roll out every morning or I will be limping and have lower back pain by the end of the day. I feel you Jen.
I really love fab fit fun I think it’s my second year with them. And I love having the annual subscription so I can customize everything.. and I love all the boosters and the add-ons, and how they give you great sales throughout the year too. I am a skin care junkie because I’ve worked in the business for over 30 years. I ❤ all these new brands I get to try and especially being female own brands. I’m getting much more into the home aspect and getting really cool little trinkets for my house
I have hip pain too, and if you don't have a percussion massager...get one. One of the only massagers I have that does make a huge difference! Thank you, as always, for the honest review!
Thank you for this great video! 💕👏💞 I do not travel much, but between me and my 20 year old... we have used my luggage scale many times and it is so handy! If I did not have it already, that would of been my choice 100%! My favorite category is #2, I want too many! 🙈😜 Definitely going to check out Stephanie's video and Kathrin'ss I am up to date on like yours as she is my fav on all things FFF. 🌻 I find these video's so helpful while I have FFF.🤗
I just cancelled my box after years of loving it. The last two, including this one, have just really been low value for me not to mention I have PILES of lotions and various hair products from past boxes. I got the pajama short set with the last box and was very stressed to see it on sale on the site really cheap before my box even arrived. I really feel like they've gone cheap and off brand.
I liked the Spring box but my subscription ended so I unsubbed. I Googled the Samantha glasses and bought them for cheap. You can always find items on other sites from re-salers.
I love how thorough you are but also to the point! I get enough info about the ingredients to help with purchasing but it’s not so in depth that it’s overwhelming.
I enjoyed your video! I got the pitcher with glasses, meat thermometer, tanning butter, juice serum, 1st aid moisturizer, leneige moisturizer & coconut texture spray for hair
Jen RU-vid has been hiding you!!!! But somehow I’m now an annual member of FFF! I signed up July 26 so I couldn’t customize my box. But I texted them and they are helping me over email! This is cray haha
Thank you sooooooo much for explaining the ingredients and usage of that hall thing, cause I changed my mind on two items that I was going to get, but now not! Lol..I really appreciate that!!❤❤❤
This video was fun! I’m glad to hear you mention the avocado oil is an allergen for some people. I personally am sensitive to wheat and oats and few people ever mention when wheat germ oil or colloidal oats are listen in the ingredients. I’ve just learned to look for these and am so sad to have to part with my newish Saie bronzer 😩
I don't know anything about this box other than what I hear from you! I thought your hair is very pretty today along with your makeup matching your top!!!! Always learn something from you in each video and that's why I'm here!
Jen, thank you again for all the reviews. I find this so helpful to get a great value from my box, and not a bunch of stuff I won’t use or need. These videos make a big difference in my choices.
Thank you for reviews on the skin care, even items you did not pick. I usually go with the skin care choices as either my adult daughters or I can use them so nice to know what to expect from ingredient deck. It may work great for what it is intended, but if that is not what you are looking for it can be disappointing to no fault of the product.
I love this, all the options together with the important info that i need to make my choices. Its very frustrating to have to go back and forth between 6 or 7 videos and have to listen to the same repetitive information. Great job
I was sad to hear your opinion about Malin + Goetz. It is at my fav hotel and I always love to use it. It's so helpful that you explain why so I can make better choices for my skin in the future :)
I love your FFF reviews! I'm happy with the choices and rely on your input when making my decision. My thought about this seasons products was that there weren't really any super products that wowed me but it is just a very solid box all of the way through.
I'm excited to try the massage ball for after workouts. I checked Amazon and honestly, they seem pricey, so this seems a great way to try one. I use a wand type thing with three rotating balls to rub out my calves and thighs. This ball I see using on my upper and lower back.
I'm so grateful for chemical sunscreen because I'm incredibly allergic to Zinc Oxide. I get full-on welts on my face that take ages to heal. Options are great for those of us with sensitive skin.
I have a Vera Bradley hanging organizer that I can fit all my makeup hair care and skin care in!!! It’s huge but I’m extra so it shocked me that I could fit everything in there including 2 nastasha denona palettes. I 11/10 recommend that organizer for anyone who is looking!!
I have used juice beauty stem cellular line for many many years. My skin is super sensitive and I honestly couldn't use many things. I was frustrated so I was really happy when years and years ago I happened upon them and the products work. I'm over 40 and my husband says whatever yr doing don't stop. Whatever the cost. It's this stuff. Multiple products from them of course. So say what you want but the products work. And many times you can stock up when ulta has half off deals. Many of their ingredients that again they have used for years have been in the news as the latest and greatest (and it keeps happening). Just additional food for thought.
Thank you for the work you put into your videos. I’m going to choose the Elemis cream based on your review. I can definitely use it. I really enjoy your reviews and honest opinions.
Love your reviews, useful info and links to articles. I’m getting the Elemis and Olaplex items, already use them and work great for me. Interested in some of the items you picked!
The only product I can speak to is one that u didnt talk about really, so I’ll add my 2 cents lol the bumble and bumble primer, it’s amazing. It’s marketed as a primer, heat protection, etc..but I use it as a leave in conditioner…the best I’ve ever used. I have normal/dry hair, and the spray is a regular mist type. ❤
You know what I wish? That more companies would put the scientific proof of their main ingredients, in the description of their products. It would sway me more. I know, it’s a lot to ask.
I've used that Ole Hendrickson scrub, it's not bad. I think it's more sucrose than silica given how it feels compared to Dermalogica daily microfoliant. I use the OH scrub if I got lazy that week w keeping up on my skincare routine.
I subscribe and love both yours and Stephanie's channels. Your attention to detail as an ingredient investigator is very much appreciated. I'm most looking forward to category 5. I love essential oils. And with a high stress job and sometimes struggles with sleep I would get some use of the rollers. I will always get anything that is offered from lily Pulitzer though, and the hand serum although basic I am pulled in by that black or purple tulip ingredient. Have a lovely weekend
I watch every one of these darn fff box reviews from you and Stephanie and it's not even available in my country! I am participating vicariously through you!
If you’d like more info on some tulip related skincare- bloom effects has a whole brand of tulip based skincare. They have massive tulip fields and it’s a husband and wife owned skincare brand. They have a line with tulips that’s essentially a retinol like line-ant aging etc and people swear by it. I read up on it a while back and it seemed pretty legit but not sure how effective it is compared to standard anti-aging products or whatever, may be something you could look into and touch up on in a future video. But they mention black tulips also. They do have a wide variety of tulips in their fields that they use though
Great video…❤ your reviews…I’m not sure about the kiwi spray though hmmm…this a crazy question grill meat thermometer,is it only on grill or even when I fry the meat hmmmm
Hi Veronica! Regarding the thermometer, I would imagine it would be fine to use on the grill! Personally, I like the ones with the long cord attached because I feel like I can put it in the meat better and I get a better reading. But that's just a personal preference!
Also, another thing about chemical sunscreens, they don’t really cause harm to coral reefs. It’s actually due to stress from global warming on the earth. I even wrote about it on my blog last year when I saw someone asking about what is a good non-Dash system, 32 toxic sunscreen to buy. I mean nine - toxic. Sorry, the system part got picked up from my laptop!
My daughter is allergic to zinc oxide which as you know is a common ingredient in natural sunscreen. I choose a chemical sunscreen every time due to that issue.
Honestly, I cancelled fff subscription after having it for a couple of years. Unless I was extremely fast, I found that anything "worth" getting sold out very quickly. Which resulted in me accumulating an array of trashy items. Much love 🌟💜🌟💜🌟
Really? I've had it for almost 2 years and never had that problem. Are you an annual or seasonal? I've always been able to get what I want and I've even went back days later right before customizations close and changed my mind and picked something else and most of it becomes available again as everybody else is changing their minds and taking stuff off of their box also. Lol
The juice products aren't horrible but they are way to basic for the price I use face and body eucerin cream and the CeraVe face and body cream and my face never looked better. The eucerin has cerimides liquorice and oats and the CeraVe has cerimides and hyaluronic acid in it. Grey for my sensitive dry red skin
Okay so I don’t think my skin necessarily makes more dead skin but because of my collagen disorder I have sooo much skin coming off daily. I can use my finger tips to exfoliate and whenever I get wet it just starts sloughing off. It’s apparently a common thing with those with EDS but I only learned last week that it was the reason, I just thought I was not exfoliating good enough or was gross 😅 Also don’t go into the sun if you have lemon juice on your skin!! It will burn!! (Remember when people put it in their hair to get highlights?)
It’s fun to watch these outfits on videos even though I no longer subscribe to them. I enjoy all the details you go into the items. For me and I found a lot of things products or a low quality. Every piece of jewelry I have ever gotten from them has tarnished or broken.
@@mjc497 I thought she said she did try it and she didn't like it and it didn't do anything for her. She also said it's for small muscles but I don't see why that would be.
Love this video! I saw another YT say that the Laneige Sunscreen had lots of silicones in it which can cause acne breakouts in oily skin. I really wanted to try this but I have oily/sensitive skin so I'm on the fence. You said it has oil absorbing ingredients so now I don't know if I should try it or not...help!
Hi Jennifer! Silicone itself causing acne breakouts is actually a myth! You just have to make sure you wash it off at the end of the night. Here's a great article if you'd like to read more: www.paulaschoice.com/skin-care-advice/ingredient-spotlight/silicone-in-skin-care
I miss your FFF videos … feels like it’s been a while since I have seen one 🤔 So much good information so we can make good choices and not buy crap 🧠 ❤ FYI - Ole Henriksen is pronounced oo-La
Thanks, Jen! I did miss a season last year because they canceled my contract, but the brought me back! Yay! So happy to help and thank you about Ole Henriksen! I'm going to make note of this because I feel like I knew this at one time years ago, but I've been saying Ol (like old) for way too long! Haha!
I'm so on the fence with fff.... I have been seasonal for a couple years and always always miss more things that I want and end up with a bunch that I don't. The bias toward the annual memberships almost makes me not want to upgrade on the principle. That said, there can be good value in the box and some neat things that I wouldn't have considered otherwise. 😩I don't know what to do😫
@@britnysnyder4991 when you look at all the sneak peeks they send out and videos from creators like @Jenluvs the choices look really cool. When you are an annual subscriber you get access at the beginning, seasonal access is about 3 full weeks later and virtually none of the choices that have been shown are available. It's not just one or two items, it's 90% of them every single time. That's what I mean by a bias. If it were a few products I could understand, but when you were a seasonal sub you really get totally different options.
@@cherisenunez2530 really? I was seasonal for the first 9 months- a year. But I don't remember that ever happening. Did you get on right at the customization time?
The only thing about chemical sunscreen I stay conscious of is it’s not reef or ocean safe. So if going for some beach time I use mineral sunscreen only - otherwise both work great for me.
Hi Gabrielle. I've read mixed information on this. It seems that in a lab they have shown that chemical sunscreen CAN hurt our environment, but what is in question is whether enough of these ingredients are getting into our water to actually harm it. Science suggests that the warming of the water is the biggest threat to ocean life. The Smithsonian compares sunscreen in oceans to 2 grains of sugar in a bathtub of water at the upper amount of the pollution into our waterways. Here's the article in case you'd like to check it out! ocean.si.edu/ecosystems/coral-reefs/truth-about-corals-and-sunscreen
After seeing people rave about Briogeo time and time again, my family tried several of their products. They all smell amazing and feel like really clean formulas. However, none of them did anything they claimed to do .. or anything at all tbh. If anything the hair feels better before Briogeo. We’ve tried it on several different hair types - no one was pleased. Just fyi.
Some of the products if you live in the UK or Canada you can't get them. If you could if there is a product that doesn't ship there could you say when you go through the options just so people know. Love your reviews & your honest opinions
@@jenluv okay, I'm not sure why. There are others who do know & make content on RU-vid , I'm not sure how they find out. Maybe if you ask fff & see what they say 🤷
Aww! Thank you!!! I do kinda like my hair too. I just feel like there are better products that make my hair look better when I diffuse it. I didn't feel like this product made my hair look better than when I don't use product.
I picked the luggage weigher thing, but they couldn't ship that. I asked her to pick between the eye cream or the hand wash and she sent the texture spray. I'm sure she was just moving fast trying to get the box in the mail.
Posted a link to your video in the FFF Reddit. Thanks so much for this valuable information! If you can, I would LOVE it if you delved into haircare ingredients. I have curly hair. Why does Behentrimonium chloride smell like fish? Yikes. 😂
I’m getting the free people wallet, Laneige Sunscreen, isle of paradise and possibly strawberry serum, Laneige moisturizer and the Toms socks. I’m somewhat excited about this box but I’m always happy to hear your thoughts!
