🤖 Organise my gunpla collection with me! 🤖 ( I completely fail...) 

With a hobby like Gunpla, it's very easy to amass a mega collection of kits. You buy and buy and not realize how big your backlog and collection is until it's super big. It's why every now and then I 'purge' some of my kits by selling them online and trading. Lately I've been drastically cutting back on buying new kits. The worry of having to pack up your collection for moving is one of the most stressful things a Gunpla has to deal with.

The first company that makes a dust repellent top coat will have all my money thrown at them.

Funnily enough, it's the opposite around with me. Started with Gunpla and now my friends try to get me into Warhammer. They even gave me entire army. And guess which fraction? Since they know I like giant robots, they gave me an T'au army...now I have even more plastic to paint 🙈 And yes, please do more of those videos. It's a refreshing spin on your usual content and shows a different side of the hobby.

The moving and organizing tips were great! I'm going to be moving early next year and by then ill have a sizable collection. Also atm my 1/100 are taking over my 1/144 kits so i have to store them soon due to limited space. A part 2 would be great to see. Also that MG Sazabi Ver Ka review I just got that kit and is next to be built, I'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on that kit!

As someone planning on moving in the next year or two, this was super helpful! I love the little things you did to make transport safer for the kits, like with the perfect grades being taped in place. This was also satisfying and great fun to watch! Can't wait to see more :)

If anything ever goes in a drawer you need to remember, little velcro white/chalk boards would help a boat load for labeling.

meanwhile I displayed my kits in my living rooms so that my relatives and friends look at them when they visit my house, also I clean my kits using laptop cleaning tools and they worked for me.

You can use cleaning slime to dust fragile models without risking damaging the model or finish.

This was really interesting, and really daunting as a person whose collection is gradually getting bigger by the year. Also, I was lowkey hoping this was the video where you'd find the poor Darilbalde lmao

You should have made the boxes into a photobook or art book, you can easily buy a large clear book and insert the box art within it

I personally just store them in clear bins sorted with a label made from pieces of green tape & written on the tape by a sharpie marker sorting them by what timeline they are from (for example: one has universal Century, another has Cosmic Era / Gundam Seed & Seed Destiny, and another has Post Disater / Iron Blooded Orphans) whenever I am not using them, posing them or displaying them & I put those bins in / on a shelf that I can access easily with a ladder to put a bin in/on the shelf or pull out one of the bins & pick one or more of my Gunpla from that bin for me to pose & stuff.

my rule of thumb is UC at centre stage for each display space (sorted according to show, if possible), and AU’s around it in their own groups. I try to pair rivals/partners together for more clarity. gunpla boxes get passed to my family for storing other stuff around the house, else they go into the recycling as well. my manuals get all stacked into hard plastic folders, also according to series, and are kept in a chest of drawers. spare parts get sorted according to show & ziplocked + packed into hard plastic boxes

The more you have, the harder it is to organise. No more room enough so that each kit has its own real space for being seen as it deserves... I have the same issue with my Lego SW collection, and now it comes to the Gunpla kits. I have built a dozen, a dozen is stashed, waiting to be built and painted. The dream would be a dedicated room with glass display shelves, to protect them all from dust, and really enhanced the beauty of a collection...

This was definitely a fun video to watch. It could be a cool side series of working on building up the shed into the ultimate gunpla laboratory :D

Im begining to get myself a nice colection of kits from IBO, G-witch and anything that looks fun and cool and i like to know how you do to dust off your models. Finally, and i may be alone in this, but i wouldnt mind to watch some warhammer kits from time to time if thats something fun for you. Keep the good work, love the content.

Thankfully I haven't had to move since seriously getting into Gunpla, so I don't look forward to the day I have to move my collection! I'm definitely on board with getting rid of boxes for them though, I've kept a couple for storage if I really like it but otherwise into the recycling it goes because I have enough other boxes from other collections. Looking forward to more of these, it's nice to get up close with some more figures that would normally only be in the background!

Man while my collection grows I started to do what you’ve been doing except I keep my instructions in those folder case thing instead of tossing them. With my instructions in individual folders by series. It’s very nice that Bandai keeps their instructions very thin.

I keep my kits in closed glass displays, 1 part to reduce tdust build up, another part to prevent my cats from attacking them 😅

Breath taking as usual. This episode with the transparent parts problem was super interesting. I wish someday in the future we could have our gunpla with 3D printer.

For me, big boxes become storage for smaller kits that haven't made it to the display yet and smaller boxes get cut down so I can keep the box art it self. Manuals get put into gallon bags with the extra parts that are left on the runner for the kit it goes to (or accessories) for quick identification.

Always nice to know I'm not the only one with completely random objects just sitting in places that make zero sense lol.

I have come to laugh and point at your sad predicament while ignoring my sad predicament. Hashtag, long live the backlog/clutter.

Whenever I have a major project on my to-do list, I never get it done in the time that I planned for it to take. I've begun setting aside a whole lot more time than I expect. If I plan for only a few hours, I set aside half a day. If I plan for a whole day, I set aside two. A week? Add on at least 2 extra days. Most important thing is to not give up or get discouraged/overwhelmed. You'll get your project done!

Man, I feel you. My collection aren't this big (yet) but the way how I organize my kits and boxes is a complete mess. I had some boxes that are just shoved in my closet. Most of my gunpla, especially the MGs are almost squeezed together due to lack of spacing and some aren't even standing properly. The only thing organized I've done so far is set the wing kits and 00 kits together accordingly. The rest is in complete random

That dark Lfrith at 1:15 looks like something I was thinking of doing with the regular kit only I would change the pink parts to a light blue to truly make it the opposite version.

Heyy Mecha G if you ever feel burn out or I guess have a bit of free time cuz there are no new releases these kinds of vlogs styles of videos are really enjoyable and easy for content just need to add music. You are a very unique creator rn especially for a collector so I am or anyone from the subscribers are really interested to see how you show your collections, your workshop, your living room if they have a collection like before in japan, and of course the potential room tour video really excited for that. Right now the workshop looks scary tbh but it'll be a great content to see the work in progress of it for sure. Really hoping streams too if ever but yeah the connection is the real problem still. But still any content you put out is all the best man keep doing what you do best

i also throw away my boxes but i cut them up first so i can keep the artwork in the cover (mainly for cataloging porpoises so i dont forget the kits ive bougth) and i also try to keep some of the inner/bottom parts of the boxes to use as storage the ones that are HG and smaller is particularly useful to organize drawers

How I organize manuals: I use a ringed B5 binder with transparent sleeves to store all manuals. Besides PGU, SD, and HG GWFM, (and a few other random kits like Pokemon, Pacman, etc) everything else is B5-sized (RG, HG, MG, Figure-Rise, Kamen Rider, Dragon Ball, Mazinger, Pacific Rising, Toy Story, Star Wars etc etc etc all B5). So far I have three. Two for Gunpla and one for other stuff. Needing a fourth. Result is amazing, as the manuals are protected, preserved, and easy to flip through.

I do the same thing with my boxes. I usually keep at least 1 huge box as a painting tray (aka let the paint pool)

I keep my manuals with the ziplocks i keep all the accessories and extra parts in, makes it a lot easier to know what goes with what and doesn't risk the sharpie rubbing off

The way i store Gunpla is in sandwich bags that i then put in those folding plastic crates. Also i keep the manuals and box lids. Plus i disassemble the kits so they fit in the bags better.
