I get it. I recently made a similar style deck in Standard Brawl using Urza, Lord Protector. I haven't had this much fun in Arena in a while. Once you hit critical mass with constructs, it's hard to stop.
Extremely late on the reply sorry but any artifacts sweepers (Brotherhood's End mainly) are brutal for the list, as well as anything that can efficiently handle the karnstructs. Even if you don't want to play a control list, cards like Loran or the new Scrapshooter in green can take out a Synthesizer, really slow down the snowball, and have uses in other matchups. Also tends to be soft to flyers, there's just the Thran Spiders w/ reach, deal with those and anything in the air can often race the constructs.
I did actually. I never ended up testing it specifically, but the deck started with a higher CMC threat package w/ cityscape levelers, some of the new 5-6 mana mythics, etc. I found that I was never running out of stuff to do just with cheaper cards and fomori vaults, the Karnstructs were good pressure on their own, and/or I'd end up dying with expensive artifacts in hand, so they ended up getting cut in favour of a leaner build. The big strength of Mural in my eyes is honestly just that it's an uncommon. This list is stupidly expensive, so having a fine uncommon that can fill some space is a totally reasonable as a budget measure.
Just gameplan/preference. Like artifacts are most compelling to me as an (essentially) tap-out midrange strategy focused on overwhelming value, high synergy, etc. Three Steps Ahead is a good card, but it's much more compelling to me in tempo/control, with a much higher density of stuff that can work at instant speed, help you leverage its unique strengths, etc.
@@SymphoneersGaming yes i was thinking something similar, but u can use three steps ahead not as a counter but only copying an artifact (essentially the syhtesizer) :)
