Hi, my daughter swims twice a week and she has really coily/kinky hair. It feels extremely dry. Is there something I can put on her hair to prevent so much chlorine being immersed in the hair shaft. Someone mentioned silicon products. Thoughts?
These tips have helped me. 1. Apply shea butter generously and put her hair in plaits before swimming. You can do this the night before. 2. Make sure she wets her hair before getting into the pool. It will reduce the amount of chlorinated water her hair absorbs. 3. She should also shampoo her hair using a moisturising shampoo immediately after the swim. To make it easy for her she can shampoo in the plaits. 3. Deep conditioning after is also very important however if it’s not convenient she should coat her plaits with shea butter after. 4. Avoid the swimming cap. They are usually too tight and snag and snap off curls. 5. The plaits can be any protective style preferably one with no added hair as water logged extensions are heavy and add too much tension to the hair.
It's beautiful ❤️ I'm in the process of working on getting the perm out of my hair. The last perm that I had was March 29th and I have no plans of perming anymore. I wish you could treat my hair and start it on the right track.
