Despite knowing about this hack, I was still WOWED when you pulled away the sponge from that first contact! I honestly don't think any glitter has EVER had THAT MUCH of a deposit on the nail...ISN FLAKIES FOR THE WIN!!!!🏆🥇🏆
@@1SilentRiver the sponge absorbs most of the liquid solvent that makes up the nail polish but the flakes (and glitters, since this technique fits those polishes too!) are too large so they just stay on top and keep just enough polish that they can stick to your nail. when you brush polishes like this on your nail there's only so much you can put on before the liquid part of the polish starts dripping off. you can get flakie polishes like that which are packed enough that you only need 1-2 coats (i have some small flaky duochromes in the same colors as the one in the video), but i'd guess that collection was formulated to also be worn as a topper
I love using this kind of sparser sparkly ones as toppers on shimmers or solid colors. I love how versatile they are including being able to just pack them on there like sardines with this trick.
Yesss definitely! I just reviewed the collection this polish is from and showed them as toppers over black and white too, they look so gorgeous over other colors 😅
Oh that makes me so happy to hear 🥰 and it was the start of my fave series on my channel - Nail Polish 101! It's been such a pleasure to be able to share tips and tricks with this community 😅🩷
But if I have to use a sponge to apply it opaque, why can't I Scream nails just show honestly what it looks like in their swatches? I don't think I should have to pay 14 bucks for a polish that I have to use a special application method? Am I being too picky? I know that I scream Nails CAN make fully opaque polishes, so why don't they? I love a lot about that brand, but see a lot of room for improvement in how they show their products. I notice they have been using less of the press on nails on their website, that's a start. Really enjoy your content Kelli, thank you.
@@fighttheevilrobots3417 that's one of the main reasons why I like to apply my swatches as normal (not sponged) for my reviews, so you can see exactly how they perform! But I would love to see them show different swatching options on their site too!
Do this and then one last coat with the brush to bring it back to life and THEN the top coat. Preferably a diamond top coat and it will look like the galaxy. Use a black base for a huge shadow effect.
I love doing certain glitters on a black base!!! Makes them look so much better when they weren't as opaque as they looked in the bottle like the Sally Hansen Hyp-nautical I just got recently
Well I only had a minute to show it and it took more than a minute to do lol. You can see a full video on this with no jump cuts on my channel, it's not a short though because it takes longer to apply with a sponge 😅 I didn't cut it after the first dab on the sponge so you could see exactly how much comes off the sponge onto the nail at each dab!
Question: How do you make it easy to remove? ???? I don’t wear sparkle nail polish because it takes me 10 minutes per nail to remove sparkles ! I would rather just wait for it to grow out at that point 🤦♀️
I apply 2-3 coats of glitter and have the same result, except there is no mess to clean around the nail. I dont understand that chorus of wow's in the comment section. Bizarre!
When your glitter has a very runny base, you have to let it sit for a few seconds on the sponge, or else it's going to make a gummy mess over your fingertips (yes, I learned it the bad way lol).
