I love your reaction. I just “discovered” Dimash myself a little less than a month ago. And yes, it is a bit like a religious experience. The first time I heard that beautiful trill at the beginning of S.O.S. I was gobsmacked. Literally, saying “What? How can anyone have such a beautiful voice?” I haven’t stopped talking out loud when I listen to him:-) His voice is what I imagine an angel’s must sound like. Oh yeah. You are SO hooked (as am I). I swear he’s 3/4 angel 🥰 it’s really funny to me, because other than a few opera songs here and there like the Prayer with Céline Dion and Andrea Bocelli, the Phantom of the opera, and a few others along the way, I was never much of an opera fan. Now, when he comes on, I have the anticipation of knowing that it’s gonna be bold,beautiful, and everywhere in between. Great reaction! I see a LOT of reviewers who are really affected by his singing (especially this song). They get goose bumps, tears, and sometimes have to stop for a bit, males and females alike. Young and old alike. He makes us feel all that and more. I only discovered him this past Jan and I'm hooked! I'm kind of obsessed with him. I play his videos for hours every day and I also have most of his songs on Itunes, and I'm 70! He's so amazing and such a kind, humane man.

It took me about 50 listens to finally stop crying every time. 😅 But it still happens from time to time with this song. ❤ He really is special. I‘m not a singer, but I have spent many many months trying to sing along to his songs and trying to imitate his sound. But even if I manage a few notes in a row, there is always the point where I run out of range or out of breath or can’t keep up with the changes in technique or the speed of his melismas. It’s like a constant experience of miserable failure. 😅 A few days ago I sang along to Beyoncé and some other great singers. Even though I don’t sound as awesome as them - it was soooo easy to sing along for long stretches of the songs! I couldn’t believe it. 😳🤯 I felt like someone had replaced my vocal chords somehow. 😅😂 So Dimash really IS special! ❤ And I‘ll still listen to him the most. Because I‘d rather fail myself while listening to his perfect voice, than succeed while listening to someone else‘s voice. ❤

More than 10 languages. Kazakh of course, russian, english, mandarin, japanese, italian, spanish, thats what i know of just so. He sung a duett this year with Placido Domingo, before with Aida Garifullina from the opera of Vienna. Also Pop songs, chansons, folk, Movie title song, a 1980s music video in Michael Jackson style. and so much more.
He sang a song in Armenian called I die for the wind in the mountains. And sang a song in Kiev, Ukraine translated as Marigolds, so that is two more languages, and alien, of course lol. And a song called Gesi Baglan in Turkish.

Ok, I think you're officially a Dear now😁. Beautiful reaction❤️. He sings in more than 14 languages. He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Alexxa - I've been excited to see you react to this song, and I adored your reaction - you are a true Dear! It's so hard not to be moved by every single song Dimash sings, but I completely had the same reaction when I heard his incredible song "El Amor En Ti" in Spanish (my first language). It's such a privilege to hear him sing in any language, but when it is in your first language, it hits much differently. "SOS" is another favorite song, though - it's so moving and profound. He has been performing this song for about a decade, so it's clearly meaningful for him, too. These are short, informative videos that are so fun to watch.
He has sung in a lot of languages 15bl or more, his native language being a part of the former USSR is Khazack and Russian, he sings brilliantly in many more and he is pretty proficient in English and Mandarin, but has done Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian, Japanese, obviously French and many others. There is no match for him as he sits at the vocal elite of one, his only competition being himself which he continues to work to being even better, he has full control of his vocal range which we have heard live from G0-D8 and I can tell you it's not his limit but he wants to make beautiful music not set records. He was born pitch perfect and as a toddler or young child he could match notes and tell you if a piano was out of tune. I am seven years in and I love him today as much as ever, not only is Dimash a great musician, he is equally a great human. I can just recommend hearing more , at this point in time he has more content and versions of songs than I can possibly remember. He is absolutely an angel.
The emotions you feel and the feeling of being overwhelmed is a release of pain and simultaneously being filled with divine love. Dimash has mastered his art so he can use his voice/performance skills as a vehicle for his divine nature. We all have the same divine nature but most of us are lost in the 'narratives' and stories broadcast continually in our thoughts that we become separated from our divine nature. So ultimately it is not even the song or his beautiful voice that undoes us, but his pure soul. That is what is breaking open our hearts as we resonate with him in that higher state. Of course you love him - we all do. But it is not mere romantic love. It is actually the recognition of our own true nature and the tears come because we fell like we have come 'home'. And in those moments we have. Diana Ankudinova has the same effect on me. As I say, they are no more divine that you and I but they have access to that higher mode of being whereas most of us do not. It is like they are channeling - and they are, but not anyone else - just themselves without illusions and delusions. The world is in turmoil and I believe in the healing and unifying power of music.
