I’m calling cap bro. You went from 1812 all the way to 1901 but wen from 05’ to 2012 like it was nothing. You scared to talk about something? Something say, that took place from 1861-1865 ?
@@StNorthgateRecordingsAfrican Americans enslaved by Louisianan confederate soldiers. The topic of slavery in America has & is being covered so much by now, that all you have to say a date in the late 1800s and its most likely slavery related. That’s just apart of Black History, though it’s not the best thing to talk about on a RU-vid channel about crawfish.
@@Yachtzy69 and the defense of Louisiana by privateer slavers hired by Andrew Jackson isn’t? Lmao homie you should study more. How is it that every other country that had dealt with slavery, has confronted the issue head on. And specifically Chattel slavery. The only countries to not really publicly denounce racial actions from systemic oppression are 1 - Brazil which didn’t outlaw slavery until the 1890’s 2 - Argentina - we all know why 3 - The United States. And better yet, most confederate and post war neo confederate monuments are engraved entirely with revisionist history about things that either didn’t happen, or were mangled to seem like a “great patriotic fight”. Maybe it’s a good thing that the ocean will eventually take everything south of the Mason-Dixon Line lmao. It all smells like moldy wood anyway.
@@Bigg_Jaham3z back in those days America came together different states cared about other states in distress. It was a time the country came together and helped. 2004 Katrina I was in 4th grade and remember Bush was in office ans everyone still respected presidents even if they weren't the best because we knew they were our leaders and we were stuck with them for 4 years at least. Early 2000s was a good time almost like the late 90s
@@user-ot2xd3wq8dyour full of shit I grew up in the early 2000s all I remember is everyone talking about what a dumbass bush was and how little he cared about this country asking why we was sending all our older brothers and friends to go get blown up in a desert on the other side of the world how he was destroying our economy and then handed the burden off to Obama as he left office get the nostalgia out of your eyes
The sinkhole happened because there is a salt mine underneath the water and a miner drilled too far and opened up the mine to the water and lots and lots of land got swallowed up and also I think the water is polluted with salt now
First of all, that was a great video very educational specially Katrina but I also agree with this post. You have to talk about Huey Long over some goat figure terrorizing a street.
@@youtubeuser3182I mean it is the internet, people aren’t expected to have to use commas and periods for comments since it can still easily be understood it’s just not formal. Though that spelling of knew was wild.
funniest part about this is that thw guy who made the video worded it weird, the axeman wouldnt kill anybody who had jazz playing in their home, so as long as you had good music taste (to him atleast) you were safe. what a madman
Andrew Jackson also established the small town I live in in Florida, the story goes that he was exploring here, back when FL was pretty much just pine trees, kudzu, and rivers. He set up his camp just north of where Pensacola sits today. The town that sits here now is called Cantonment in honour of Andrew Jackson, Cantonment is pretty much just a fancy word for camp, or encampment. I'm not very familiar with Louisiana, but I found your video quite informative!
I got more excited about the pirates helping Jackson fight the red coats. That could make a dope movie. I live in Pennsylvania and we have a ton of history here, but the history of New Orleans is very interesting.
He ain't gonna do a full video of the history... slavery will be left out and so will his company getting sued because they decided to traffic live animals.
And the largest mass lynching of Italian-Americans occurred in New Orleans on March 14 1891 but hey why talk about that when you can talk about vampires 🤦
Yeah nah that’s too much history, and it doesn’t deserve to be condensed down to but a mere minute Plus it’s a video about louisianas history, civil war / rights was more of a broad nationwide thing (though a huge part of Louisiana )
I used to live in Louisiana! Nothing like it baby 🎉❤ Lived in New Orleans on the Westbank. But the best place i been was Grand Isle, Louisiana Sooooo beautiful ❤❤❤
I have a piece of silver coin from a ship that sank in the Gulf of Mexico that if it never sank, the Louisiana purchase most likely never would have happened.
Funny thing is, there’s not a lot of evidence that Huey was assassinated by Carl Weiss. There’s way more evidence that points to governor long being shot by a stray round from his body guards
Battle of New Orleans was 1814 after the peace Treaty of Ghent was signed, but the news had not yet reached the USA. The British Major General Pakenham launched a poorly planned frontal attack on Jackson's line which was well prepared with cannon on the other side of a canal. Pakenham and his 2nd in command were killed leading the charge.
The French had it first, then sold it to Spain, then Spain secretly gave it back to the French. It was bought by Thomas Jefferson. And he had two men Livingston and Monroe ( last names btw) that went with 10 million to buy New Orleans due to its ports but due to a upcoming war between France and Great Britain, France was in need of money and they were able to buy all of Louisiana and New Orleans for 15 million. This was Pennie’s per acre. The Louisiana Purchase was one the most historical and impressive purchase ever:) Just a little more detail facts
Fun fact: among the contingent of locals under the command of a pirate during the war of 1812 were Filipinos. In decades prior a number of Filipino men working on Spanish ships would jump off and swim to shore. They set up stilt settlements in the swamps and introduced filipino shrimping practices to the local area. Those Filipino settlements persisted until the 20th century when they were destroyed by hurricanes.
I’m not even skeptic about the vampires. It’s pretty well documented that there were humans in the days of old that sustained off the consumption of human blood. And the gene that made this possible supposedly faded away but I’m not buying it🤣
The battle of New Orleans was in 1815. I would’ve also included that it was the first major Confederate city captured by the Union in 1862 and the 1974 battle of Liberty Place.
@@_faye. born and raised in the boot i moved to Colorado for 2 weeks to work and that’s all it took was hunting and the outdoors to get me back over here i do like traveling too but i’ll always come back for sure ! outdoors food and can’t forget madi gras! haha
@@BigOleHayden thats crazy i grew up in colorado then moved to Louisiana - my mom's from new orleans and lives in colorado now. i see a ton of colorado plates around me here and know a ton of other louisiana people in colorado
I was born in Louisiana and my family have been there snice before it was a state. My family discovered oil in the 1900s on land it purchase after it became a state. #Louisiana forever
I live in Sc. Between Charleston and Beaufort. Corrupt town of Jacksonboro. Live in a swamp and my neighbors have literally been raided for human trafficking.
I was commercial fishing the Gulf of Mexico out of Steinhatchee Fl back in 2010 when that BP oil spill happened. BP payed out huge amounts to people that were affected by the oil spill. I wound up getting 9 separate checks at 3.5K each. My boss filled out a business version of the paperwork and wound up getting almost 90K in total. One guy took his stone crabbing boat to Louisiana to use it to drag nets to catch oil floating on the surface and he made so much money he bought a brand new boat when he came back. I heard they were paying good money for people to walk the beaches and scoop up the oil out of the sand too
1755-56 : Acadians (French settlers from New France - precisely Maritime Canada now, were deported by the British to take their lands. These « Cadiens » will adapt to their new surroundings in Louisiana to become known as the « Cajuns ».
I know this aint got anything to do with crawfish but yalls videos seem to only appear in the middle of the night for me and then make me crave crawfish, because here in arkansas they are kinda hard to get
For those who don’t know about the Louisiana camera, his name was the axman he and he would go around killing people that did not play jazz and this would happen usually every Tuesday and he would write go to the police giving hints on what he would do next
AI slop just makes you guys look bad, like there isn’t enough official photos pr news stories of these events or myths you glossed over so readily. Really liked you guys.
Not Fun Fact: The last active plantation to close in America was in in Killona, Louisiana. There is records of slaves working and being sold there until 1973 😢
anyone interested AHS (American Horror Story) has a season about the Axe Man in NOLA in Season of the Coven I believe it’s the Witch themed one pretty detailed even though it’s fictional it has some real locations about the incidents and also some Marie Laveau history in the same season!
@@wyattcarver3601 yeah my stepdad had brought it up one time the real person so me and then girlfriend had showed him and my mom the AHS season Coven i love that season
