Pretty much a 10/10 for me, but I'm very easy to please. Nothing really bothers me about it.

@@Blinkptx Kind of surprised someone could give it such a high score especially after the good old days of GOT. I don't think this show does a great job of fleshing out their characters and channels like Hill's Alive and others go into detail as to why it's not hitting some of us right. Rhaenys' character was poorly handled and I really wanted to like her. They never even addressed her killing all of those innocent people yet she always acts like she's on the moral high ground. Rhaenyra and Jace and Rhaena have been complaining too much this season, repeatedly, adding nothing new to the show in many of their scenes. Jace at least did go to the Vale, but the way he and his mother interact is just frustrating to me that neither communicates w/the other for no good reason and he's her heir! Daemon's scenes although interesting and getting deep into his psyche are also not needed to that degree to understand him and his scenes w/Alys to me are unbelievable to me in how he treats this weird random bastard character out of nowhere who never bows to him or shows him the proper respect that the others are forced to at Harrenhall. The show to me isn't handling the source material and expanding on it as good as I had hoped. A few things are good, but then you have to deal w/the super jagged pacing, from season 1 being way too rushed completely and it should've been two seasons, to this one being so drawn out beating us over the head w/the same themes. I don't see how so many people are enjoying this show that much. Not sure if I'll finish the series if they don't improve it beyond what I've seen. They should be doing more things w/the dragons too and showing them a lot more (and yes I know the CGI is expensive but that's why I was surprised they decided to do this show and if they were going to do it well, then show all of the dragons as much as possible to really immerse them in this world). The fact that they take that long to show Daemon going crazy at Harrenhall but don't even show ONE quick scene of Caraxes going crazy as well when they showed Syrax feeling Rhaenyra's birthing pains is another glaring inconsistency in how they're treating the material. They show Caraxes in the last episode but just so he can sit there and whine and be ready to fly then not used! That's a totally wasted budget for no pay off. They just aren't handling the show that well imo, and I was hoping for more.

But got had many more seasons... And 10 episodes each. But I agree that something as monumental as his pain from becoming a king slayer only got one bath scene and Daemon is a drama queen for an entire season

I think it's the best part of the season

I prefer to forget that possibility

@@taytayqueen7024 the implication in his talk with Aegon was that lord Strong on Larris's birth blamed a member of the house for his deformity and Alice Rivers has been the person taking care of medical needs in the castle so it was likely her.

Yeah, she's pretty omniscient character. He seems to respect in the sense that he has never questioned her over any detail and now consults her? It's about questioning HOW she knows this stuff. Is she a medium for the 3 eyed raven, knowing all the history?

We've never heard of weirwood tea, however weirwood paste is definitely a thing used by the children to open Bran's mind and "wed him to the trees". And it looks about the same as what Alys was making and gave to Daemon.

He shushed Daemon in a similar manner to Aemond shushing Aegon. Sir Simon may be sincere but I think he knows it ultimately out of his hands. Fattening the pig for slaughter.

Maybe it's a compensation for never showing Deneris scenes with her Dothraki handmaiden

Fr, all she did was burn some ships during the battle of the gullet and cry about it. She helps take Kingslanding (well her dragon does) then bonks Daemon and leaves to start up her own cult.

I also like the idea, because it will likely make Daemon’s arc more profound/redeeming, as it won’t be about romance but being a good role model for once? Maybe… we’ll see. GRRM also dropped some not-so-subtle hints about how changing canon can negatively affect things later.

@@Zimbabweland To be fair, Daemons arc _could_ have been made about fatherly figures regardless, but also tbf not _this_ Daemon. The only thing that gets lost is that the book kinda implies that Nettles tamed the dragon without special genes, but I assume that can be accomplished otherwise, if necessary - not sure if they do, though

There is definitely something to Daemon being a misogynist and not seeing Alys as an equal or threat. At the same time, forgetting that she gave him a mystery drink at least once that made him black out into a meeting with Willem Blackwood should be something that sticks out in his memory as "huh, that was bizarre".

i’m not sure if he’s a mysoginist or too much of a ladies’ man that he just can’t help but like alys despite the obvious red flags. i’m so annoyed that he immediately acts it out on strong, when he’s actually been decent to him, and never on alys, who’s been giving him blood potions to help him “sleep.” i mean, maybe he’s just as dumb as a brillo pad. he clearly acts like it.

He didn't seem smug, it was an exclamation of relief and nervous pat on the back. Like a kid learning to ride a bike that goes straight to a cliff if he doesn't succeed. He never showed hubris before it doesn't make sense he's cocky. At least to me...

⁠​⁠@@glacialimpalaperhaps cocky was the wrong word. But to me, he displayed that sense of relief too early. To use your example of a child on a bike, the excitement and relief should come once you’re riding the bike, rather than approaching the bike

Rhaenyra sent her away to be the mom to her children because she doesn’t have a dragon. When Deamon sees she gains a grown dragon their bond becomes stronger and Rhaenyra becomes jealous. Plus if her children are taken even more resentment.
