I'm 3 years late seeing this...haha! It popped up because I just got some beautiful Violas and was researching how to take care of them. Of course you guys would pop up! I didn't realize they needed more water than I've been giving them. I will keep more of an eye on that. I'm keeping them in a container for the reasons you mentioned. I want to be able to relocate them if needed since our summers keep getting hotter and our UV has been very high. Even our shady spots get really hot, and I'm only in 8b! I wish I could sit with you two and ask questions about my plants all day! haha! I just love the science of everything. One day I hope to join one of your live streams. Everytime I get a notification, I'm at work. Anyway, as usual, thank you for the awesome videos!

I have a fairly new lime green / yellow variegated euronymous shrub. To my delight in mid summer, violas started peeking out from around and under it. They spread on their own from a planting years ago. The purple contrast against the Euronymous colour was a delightful surprise😃

Hi Jacquelyn! 👋 Wow, that's great! 😃 Our pansies have spread in different areas of our yard too and we love it! So happy yours are bringing you joy and you have that contrast with your euonymous shrub. Fun! Thank you for watching and commenting! 😉👍

Enjoy your videos. The videos are so informative and to the point. Also enjoy watching a plant geek couple . 💕 Not as enthused about tools like Sean but I learn a lot.

Hi Gang when deadheading Viola's how can you tell if the flower bud is going to seed or pushing out a new bud/bloom.They appear pretty close in resemblance and I'll pop them all to make sure.THANX.Oh and the pansies appear as a butterfly taking off and the Viola is more symmetrical/uniform - IMO

This is an awesome video! I was wondering if you had some tips on harvesting the flowers themselves? Should you just pick off the flower, or take out the whole stem?

I had violas in a large container along with dianthus, coral bells, creeping jenny and some basil. The violas now are dried up, due to hot weather and not enough water. I'm thinking of planting them in the ground to see if they'll come back. Think that will work?

I live in Denver. Will the viola come up even after a winter of snow. Is it better to plant in the ground or a pot? I want them to come back every year.

Hi guys, love the content of your videos, very helpful. Just one criticism though, when you're editing and you cut to one section to another, it doesn't flow, it makes it look as though the video is jumping. Sorry, just an observation.
