I like that you showed the mortar being mixed here - i recently learnt to lay brick for some planter boxes at home (thank Stu, learnt from your vids) and the mortar was consistently the hardest part of the job.

Very clean and nice. I try to match up the mortar to the old as best I can for when it dries out especially if viewed square on from a distance but obviously not in this case. Well done boys!

I never thought that type of insulation was any good for the building. When the pointing is worn out and driving rain gets in, it gets wet and causes nothing but problems to the internal parts. Even when it gets wet from ground level, it causes even more problems. Great building work, guys.

Lovely work. Had a thought. Why not glue with high strength adhesive the quarter blocks so it looks like they’re one brick. They’re not holding any weight due to the lintel so it would make it look like it was meant to be that size all along and you wouldn’t need the mortar.

It’s a good idea but didn’t have the time to mess about with it. Only started at 2 and it’s raining for the rest of the week 👍
