I love meeting people that love textiles and their backstory as much as I do. I could have talked to Rebecca for hours. I found her through Jo Andrews and the Haptic and Hue podcast. And am now passing her on to you. Such a lovely and amazing woman. Enjoy!!

Textiles in the US have been hit hard. As a small child I enjoyed going with my Gram to the big city of Lewiston, Maine to buy fabric. It used to be a major textile city. Fast forward a bit and Bibb, the textile company my Uncle Bill worked for permanently closed. These days, going into a quilt shop knowing "I don't need a thing" means I might, maybe, get out for under $100. LOL! If we don't support them, we could lose them. Another great interview.

Every time I watch one of your interviews, I say to myself, “Wow, this is the best one yet”. I am always wrong, they just keep getting better and better. You find the most interesting, fantastic, outstanding people. Each is unique and I feel so lucky you have given us the opportunity to get to know such a variety of people who excel at their at their craft. Again, thank you for sharing “Your finds” with us Karen.

That was the most interesting interview I have ever seen. Your questions were spot on and Rebecca Devaney a total delight. Whoever thought about feather making for fashion. Takes one down a rabbit hole in investigation. Thank you.

Mexican embroidery was one of my favourite experiences of Mexico and had to have something to bring home as I appreciated the work it took to create it .sadly I don’t have time to do it all so I love to buy the pieces and just enjoy them for their beauty and creativity!❤

Back in the 90s, I was the 1st woman to create a Texas sized quillow and have it in a silent auction in Elko Nevada. All other things were always made by men. Since then I have seen other "female crafts" in the auction.

Thank you, what a fascinating insight into Rebecca’s life and passion for textiles and craft. I’m unlikely to go to Paris anytime soon but my heart started racing thinking about seeing haberdashery shops and fabrics guided by someone so knowledgeable. I’m so glad to find I’m not the only one who can’t pass such a shop without going in and coming out with something I never knew I needed.

Thank you. This is a wonderful interview. I traveled since the 80's in Europe and Asia. It was so hard to find any information about textiles. Now it is so much easier with guides like this one. I am so thankful for people like you and Ms. Devaney. Cheers.

How timely is this interview!!! My hubby and I are planning 2025 travel, part of which will be in France. I have asked in various places does anyone know of fabric/textile stores to visit in France. No responses 😢. Until now, thank you for this lovely interview, I will definitely ‘put my order in’ with my hubby, after all, France is about me, Britain is about him 😊😊😊

Thanks Karen. Another great interview. this one was of particular interest to me as I recent;y discovered Jo Andrews from Haptic and Hue whilst exploring my new found passion for fabric and colour. I think I have listened to all your interviews or at least most of them. They are always informative, entertaining, worthwhile and, probably, best of all, enjoyable. ImLooking forward to going to the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham for the first time next week. Im based in Hertfordshire in the UK.

Karen I experienced an 'Oh Darn It' moment when I heard what Rebecca does. I was in Scotland, London, Dublin AND Paris in the beginning of June. I created my own 'textile tour" and managed to get into a fabric or haberdashery store in each location (much to the chagrin of my kids😆). Had I known of Rebecca's tour, I would've surely joined in. I feel so lucky that I was also able to visit The Palace of Versailles. There, they had a textile exhibit. These were ordered from the silk manufactorers in Lyon by Napolean, but never used. Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for this interview and series, Karen🙂
