And fyi I have been a Superior Threads and titanium topstitch needle quilter since my first year of quilting -- what a difference these products make!
Karen and Anita you are super adorable; loved Anita’s relaxing approaches to quilting.....”relax, have fun, finished things are more important that perfect things. I am a 65 years old men, retired, learned how to sew shirts for myself, and going to quilt shops to buy shirt fabrics, little by little just could not resist the deep appealing of quilting. Is addictive and is changing my life for better. Thanks for the enthusiasm , the information and the love for this art....quilting,,!!!!!!!!😘😘😇❤️🥰
This was fantastic. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 RU-vid didn’t let me give you enough thumbs up. It was such a great interview. Anita was so interesting and had such good information, both technical but also personal. I couldn’t help but like her and feel disappointed I never got to take a class with her. Your questions were insightful, you really listened to her answers, asked great follow up questions, you didn’t let yourself get stuck on a script of questions, and you didn’t interrupt Anita’s answers.
Wow that was amazing! Learned so much and not just about thread. I'm 60 yrs old and it is so encouraging listening to older quilters talk. I feel like I'm learning how to age gracefully with my sewing and not to worry about perfection! Thank you ladies, both so much!!!

Thank you for introducing me to this delightful woman! I learned so much about thread and needles. Wish I could have attended one of those workshops you referred to and making one of those books for reference! But I also learned much about the tenacity, determination, and positive outlook in Anita that I need to remind myself to choose each day. Once again you have provided me and others with knowledge and friendship - such an uplifting combination!
Yes! Since this wonderful lady is retired...please do go ahead with your idea to make a video on how to make our own “thread books”. "Thread Therapy with Dr. Bob" were great DVDs, but having something to reference that we make ourselves (and put notes in) would be even more useful. I can tell Karen’s Quilt Circle is going to be a favorite. Thanks for all the great information.

This was one of your best ideas! I’ve been sewing for years & years but this is the first time I feel like I know something about threads & needles. I have saved this video so I can refer to it over & over in the years to come. Can’t wait for the next one.
OMG! Karen - this interview was awesome! I've only been quilting for 1.5 years now. My first love is garment sewing. But with the pandemic, I shifted my focus to quilting. My husband jokes that I need to make quilts for our bed more so than garments! And in some ways he's right! I love my sewing instructor as she's been quilting since 1993. And we get along well. She treats me like her own son. But in building my reference library of videos, books, pdf materials, etc. I'm discovering more that some of her views on quilting were from the era she learned in. Sometimes I try to introduce her to the more current content that she view on her computer. But she's seems to be somewhat off-put by it all. I definitely love to quilt. But my fear of screwing up an expensive project can be overwhelming at times! This interview helped me relax more about the process and become more aware of the threads I'm using! I've always stuck with Signature quilting cotton threads with no issues and have been using quilting needles. But I never really thought about mixing it up - within reasonable limits of course! To hear Anita state that quilting should be fun was so refreshing! Thank you for investing your precious time and energy in delivering this content! I've downloaded your materials on colour theory along with online classes offered by the National Quilter's Circle and their free-motion quilting classes. I am thoroughly enjoying the classes. Now it's the challenge of processing it all project by project. To hear Anita indicate she marked up her quilts for her designs made me feel so much better about the process! It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I had invested in quilting stencils for months now and am feeling more confident about using them! Again, thank you so much Karen for this content!

I just watched for the first time! Went to the AQS show in Grand Rapids and bought Superior thread & needles to make a baby quilt. I have never had so much trouble sewing on my sturdy, go to machine with threads and needles breaking and jamming my machine! Sure wish I had seen this BEFORE I started that quilt! And the Superior salespeople did NOT give me the same info Anita did! Thanks Anita! I too would like to see more! This was wonderful!
Best interview ever!! I am an old, (make that very old) woman and know nothing about any of this fascinating subject. Thank you so much for bringing the topic of threads and needles to us. As a fledgling quilter I know this knowledge will save me time, money, and frustration.

For me this was the best talk about thread and needles I have ever gotten. I wish I could have taken the class when she was available. Thread, tension, needles and bobbin adjustment scare me so much. Everyone has made me afraid to touch tension. I can honestly say I got a lot from this video. Please Please keep them coming!
I have friends who are "thread snobs"...and it has caused me to be confused, making me question what I can and can't use. THANK YOU for making our choices endless!!! I have varying threads and have never really understood them, but now I feel better versed! ((I'd love to hear more!))

Thank you so much for this great video. Both of you are excellent teachers and speaker, and both are beautiful ladies. Yes, I meet Anita many years ago(late 1990's) as I lived in the Niagara area and she in Dundas. Yes she still is the same enthusiastic person that I knew back then.

Hi Karen. I can’t believe all much I learned and loved your interview with Anita Zobens. I’m thrilled to have “met” her. I love her philosophy about work and life and all the curve balls we’ve been thrown lately by Covid. Yet here I am, one of the most out there people I know.I was very busy all the time going here and there all the time. When all that came to a screeching halt with the pandemic, I suddenly had time to do the one thing I loved best and that is quilting. I hardly ever go out, but when I do I enjoy it, even a visit to the dentist is fun, but my heart lies at home in my sewing studio in the back of my kitchen with a machine I’d like to chuck...did I mention expensive machine? Bottom line is that we’ve all learned so much. Even my granddaughters who thought they’d hate just going to school away from home only two days, now love it. The change in pace helps them do better and feel better. So we all need home more than we thought. Thank you Karen for bringing Anita and her life and thread stories for us to enjoy and learn from.
This was just a wonderful presentation! I would love to hear from her again! Karen, I'm so very excited about this series. If they are all this good, you've got me hooked! THANK YOU!

I have been quilting for almost a year. I am not a part of a quilting club here around where I live. In Florida. However, I have welcomed a few ladies in my home that in my heart, are such interesting wonderful friends. Karen, you are one of those precious ladies. I am a seamtress, I still make time for a few crafts, but I have fallen in love with quilting. Thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos. Thank you for being so encouraging. I really enjoyed the interview. I am a textile student, living in the UK and I have learnt so much today. You have provided me with the confidence to experiment more in my work - which will be a good thing. I am really looking forward to the upcoming interviews with other makers. Research is a huge part of my design practice and I am always looking for different avenues of investigation to set me apart from my peers

What an amazing woman! Even though this interview was 3 years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing what Anita Zobens had to say about threads, needles in various quilting situations. I only began quilting about 18 months ago but had sewn clothing or whatever with my mom and grandmother since I was big enough to reach the foot pedal. I am very much enjoying my quilting journey, especially when I learn from someone with so much experience as you, Karen and Anita! Thanks again!!!
Jan 2023 - my 3rd time since first watching this FANTASTIC interview; each time learned something different. I always use topstitch needle and now buy Superior thread exclusively. These 2 choices alone hugely simplify and improve my quilting.

Karen and Anita...thank you both so much for this collaboration. I purchased the varying sizes of Superior topstitch needles...oh my gosh! Changing the needle size made a world of difference in my stiches...they are perfection. The needles are penetrating the fabric like butter!!! Thanks again!!!

So glad this video is available. Listened for the second time, got even more out of it. After my first listen, I ordered some Superior topstitch needles. I’m a new quilter and new to my machine, but have been sewing for more than 60 of my 74 years. Thank you for bringing her to us and for giving her a chance to share with your listeners-👍
