Crochet Terms for Beginners:
ch - chain
st or sts - stitch (s)
sl st - slip stitch
- insert hook, yo pull through and then pull through loop on hook.
sk - skip
dc - double crochet
- yo, insert hook, yo pull through, yo pull through 2 loops, yo pull through remaining 2 loops
Slants & V’s Shells Pattern
Chain a multiple of 4 plus 2 chains.
1st Row (Right Side): (Sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in second chain from hook, * skip next 3 chains, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next chain, repeat from * across to last 4 chains, skip next 3 chains, sc in last chain.
2nd Row: Chain 4 (counts as first dc plus ch 1), turn, skip first 4 stitches, sc in next chain, skip next 2 chains, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc, skip next 3 dc, sc in next chain, repeat from * across to last 3 stitches, skip next 2 chains, dc in last sc.
3rd Row: Ch 1, turn, sc in first dc, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next sc, * skip next ch 1 space and next dc, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next sc, repeat from * across to last dc, sc in last dc.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern.
