this is such a cool way to keep track of your projects! would definitely love to see more sewing videos in the future 💫 also the way i’ve never thought to write down the fabric care instructions before 🤡

I love this idea! I used to be really into sewing, but I’ve leaned more into other hobbies over the years. I would definitely like to get back into it when I have more time. I honestly really love how simple these spreads turned out and I wonder if I could tinker a bit with them to make them more suited to art projects instead! And I definitely understand the struggles with numbers/body dysmorphia. I’m pregnant and it has been very hard to ignore how much my body has changed (even if I know it’s important). I’ve definitely had to take a step back from numbers for awhile to keep myself content with how I am and not how I wish I could be. Thanks for being so open and honest, it’s very refreshing. Happy holidays! 🌿 #Plantmas2021

This set-up is very beautiful! I haven't sewn my own clothes (was supposed to take classes, but schmandemic), but I do crochet and knit! So these pages are still very inspiring. I was super lucky to be one of the winners of the notebook therapy give-away and making that notebook a designated crafting notebook seems like an excellent idea! Also thank you for opening up about your struggles with your body dysmorphia and eating disorder. I am starting therapy specifically for my ED in 2022 after struggling with it for over 20 years. I feel very grateful to start the process of finally working through it.

Perfect timing! I've recently got into sewing and I've been eying this gorgeous notebook I've not touched for a few months (too scared to use, the usual!) And this is such a great place to start! For me, a page i would deffo add in is a glossary that I can easily flip to and add to (with diagrams/scraps of fabric with examples) bc the biggest barrier I have is understanding the pattern instructions. (I've literally spent 5 minutes reading the same instruction over and over again, holding the pattern pieces together and googling the jargon until I'm like "ooohhhh" 🤦‍♀️ )

I just have to say, you are not alone!! i have a "degree" in designing, make sewing instructions, sewing and making patterns. Its basically what i do. But when i buy ready made patterns. i dont get them. i can read them over and over for 20+ mins.. then i give up, throw the instructons and go ahead with only the pattern pieces 🤣 So even those that are the most skilled, can and will have problems with the instructions 😂

Honestly, I want to do a journal like this but for drawing ideas, video ideas, etc, etc. I think I use way too many post-it’s (and the fact it isn’t for personal use-) in my day-to-day, and it might be nice to have a journal where everything is. Also... nice needle there!

Like all your journals, this one is beautiful. Hobby journals, with project set up layouts, are so helpful. Your story from when you were a child brought back memories of when I used to spend hours with the Fashion Plates toy to design all my dream outfits...because what was the late 90s to your childhood, was the dawn of the eighties to mine. I'm working on a new gardening journal, and not only this journal, but your GORGEOUS olive branch layout in your 2021 journal has really been an inspiration. Thank you so much. (I replied to a comment below that you might want an under bust/bra band area measurement for certain types of garments...not being a garment maker (I stick to sewing paper, pillows, curtains and the occasional Halloween costume embellishment:-) I don't know the proper name for the measurement in patterns. Good luck! Sounds like you have a lot of inspiration.

And I keep thinking of going there and get more skills in sewing BUT I just never do. Right now I'm also dealing with an ED (binge eating) and body dismorphia (in my mind I'm always smaller than in real life), so I don't even want to go there because I feel disgusting in my body. But it's a process, right? With the right help everyone can get better. I am sorry you went through and ED. Please remind yourself today (and everyday) that you are beautiful, in and out ♥

I have a project journal for mostly knitting projects so i have a single place to record my patterns, but I want to work in sewing stuff if i can manage it. I certainly need a measures page cause I constantly get which measure for which location mixed up when I'm looking at patterns. lol I'm bigender and hitting 30 meant my hip measurement changed (and is still changing). Every time i need to remeasure for a sewing project or cause I notice my jeans aren't fitting the same AGAIN, my dysphoria gets really bad. :( I know it's not quite the same, but I know what you mean about measurements stressing you out and being triggering/upsetting.

I definitely relate to the measurement issue Knowing that I have to face them if I'm going to sew an item that fits me perfectly doesn't make it any easier. In RTW I'm a 6 Tall but the big 4 pattern companies have me at a size 16. (Though I sew a size 12 or 14.) It has taken a long time to not freak out about sewing pattern sizing. Your journal is lovely. I am envious. Mine is strictly functional.

I have so many projects floating around in my head that I will never, ever get around to sewing. I've been thinking about doing a sewing journal so this is prompting me to get onto it. I love this journal, and have done things like it in the past for knitting and various historical costuming. I would add arm size. The measurement around your armpit and top of shoulder. I find that that is where I often need to adjust. Also, because I am... generously endowed, I tend to put separate measurements for across the back to side seams and across the bust to side seams as well as ribs under bust.

Ooooo!! I actually picked up a larger book a few months ago specifically for this purpose!! You've inspired me to actually put it together.

I have a strong tendency to not finish projects if they aren't turning out the way I want. I would recommend having a self-reflection section where you can actually comment on what went wrong, lessons learned etc.

The needle was a nice touch! And I look forward when you show us when you have made some projects, to hear how it did work for you. Now I wanna make a crafts journal too!

I would love to see videos dedicated to your sewing projects ! Not a sewer at all but I think you could really make it interesting for anybody 🧵

It wouldn't really be bujo related but I think a lot of us (or at least me lol) would love to see a video where you make something. I think it would be pretty cool if you wanted to share :D

the thing is, i haven't got a clue about the first thing when it comes to sewing... BUT i did use to design a bunch in my early teens-- i'm only 20, but yeah. i love all the different poses for the mannequins, that brought so many flashbacks.

I have been wanting to learn how to sew this year. I might do a crafting tracker in my regular journal instead of a big journal because i am just learning, but i love the idea of a sewing journal #plantmas2021

I really need to put my inseam somewhere in my bullet journal where I will be able to find it so that I will have it when I need to take jeans and slacks to the seamstress to be hemmed. (I have a commercially unavailable inseam because I am a short girl.)

Very detailed. Love the idea. I was so happy to see this video. I have been wanting to watch this since you first mentioned the concept.
