0% containment in South Fork Fire and Salt Fire in Ruidoso, NM 

Did you see the flames? There's nothing you can do to contain that thank God they got a couple inches of rain tonight although that brings its own problems mainly foods and mudslides god help those people

The winds here on the west Texas/NM border are intense. The warm air from the tropical storm in the gulf is meeting air from the west at this mountain range. These are big ass fires and about half the state is forest the other half brush.

I'm in ruidoso and yes the rain put out both fires almost completely. Ignore the zero containment bs. It's too late though. The north side all burned. 😢

This morning they had 2.5 inches of rain in half an hour and the flash flooding continued. Some reports are saying that people needed to evacuate because of the floods but they were already evacuated because of the fire

Government agents. They cut cell phones almost as soon as the fires started before ANY buildings had burned.

One report stated that a tree or branch fell on a power line causing one of the fires. There were originally 5 fires and it is not known which fire was started by the falling tree. 3 of those were put out quickly however.

One report said that two people were arrested. They started the fire

Agents that's who started it. They cut the cell phone service 2 hours after the fires started. Nothing was damaged at that point. The man did this.

Trees burn, dry grass burns, Ruidosos problem is to many trees, to much duff, not enough FIRE DEPARTMENT.

Cellular outages , confusion, the fire seem to have spread wind driven tendrils and spots into town and then filled in the spaces. Left town at 130 didn't see any response in town, not much on 70, cell was out from Middletown to somewhere between mountains and tularosa.
