In the full video the San Francisco player looks like he is actually blocking a Minnesota player from getting to Marshall and then one guy runs up and thanks Marshall. Masrhall was a great player, too bad he is remembered mainly for that mistake. But, it is also pretty hard to live down as well. But I would put Dan Orlovsky's safety by running out of the end zone on here too, and its worse that Marshall's.
@@moffjerjerrod1579 orlo running around in the back of the end zone was bad, but you can't get worse than running 80 yards the wrong way and celebrating giving the other team 2 points.

@@GaryPewteaux63 If you get defensive pass interference before you've thrown, it's always worth throwing the ball. It's a free opportunity for a "high-risk" high reward play since if you somehow still get the reception despite interference you can decline the penalty and if something goes wrong (like an interception), you just accept the penalty.
@@HappyBeeGaming you don't just huck the ball out there when your receiver is on the ground before you've even started the act of throwing without seeing a flag thrown. Don't get me wrong. Refs definitely blew a holding call. Because you can't get pass interference if the ball isn't in the air when the penalty occurs. No pass. No pass interference
@@GaryPewteaux63 You're right about it not being "pass interference" but I think my point stands for the relevant penalty (holding, personal foul) that can be levied against the defense before the ball is thrown for interfering with the receiver illegal.
@@MurdogYT that really doesn't belong on this list It's not that easy or such a better and obvious decision to go straight out of bounds to stop the clock and play a 4th down with seconds left
@@MurdogYT In those situations, you have to prioritize stopping the clock or else the game is over. If you come up short of the sticks, at least you can run a play or two afterward. He played to his instinct by trying to get additional yards but there the play has to be get out of bounds with forward progress.
@@docbailey3265 Check out "Thinking in Bets" book by Annie Duke. Very good breakdown of this play and the math behind it all. It was actually a very high IQ play call. Great call, bad result. Do you think the "Philly Special" was a bad play call too, or no, simply because it happened to work out?
@@n3r0wolfe I agree but I think it was mostly Russell's mistake, he wanted the MVP. They didnt think he would force a pass like that. he could have thrown it away. It was second down. Beastmode and Russ both had one TD. If they run it Marshawn gets the MVP. Russell was selfish and greedy. Ive been a seahawks fan all my life and i cant stand him.
The Lions Browns game should have been a delay of game penalty against the Lions, you can't just lay on someone to prevent the next play from happening...
To be fair the last one was a blown PI call. The 1st one he had both his 1000 yard receivers refuse to run goal line fades, still shoulda clocked it but just want it to be known what he was working with.
That 2015 Redskins Vs Cowboys game pissed me off SO much, I remember I was in 8th grade at the time and I was up all night watching that game just yelling out pure profanity at the TV, mind you I had school the next morning 🤦🏾♂️ It really sucks being a Washington fan, because you LEGITIMATELY watch them struggle against SHITTY teams and lose the most WINNABLE games over the dumbest shit 🤦🏾♂️
Desean jackson should never be on any team based sport hes a bum who only cares about himself, just like when he dropped the ball before the endzone on the eagles. Worrying about his self before the team.
That was the 0 IQ play that tops them all. I mean, seriously? Throw the ball when you're on the 1 yard line on second and goal and have marshawn lynch?
That classic Jim Marshall clip will haunt us Vikings fans forever…just like the Gary Johnson field goal miss of ‘98 at the NFC championship game. We’ve got some good ones.
It's too bad really because Jim Marshall was a beast for most of his career. 3 2nd Team All Pro nods, an NFL Championship ring, 2 Pro Bowls, "Purple People Eater", 282 consecutive games played over a 20 year career and in the Vikings Ring of Honor. It's sad we remember him for this single play instead of a storied career. I'd really like to see him get in the HOF one day but that play may be keeping him from it.
To be fair as I am not a fan of either team, Malcolm Butler made a HELL of a read on that play. EVERYBODY at home and in the stadium KNEW it was going to be Marshawn Lynch being given the ball, but Butler recognized the play from film study and won the game with his play. Lynch from the 1 is an obvious call, but if you can't get 1 yard on one play, then you should not be in the Super Bowl either.
Isn't the first play a touchback? You see clips of the kicking team diving into the endzone to try and save the ball from going into it so they can have the kick downed at the 1 yard line or so. Were there rule changes? Because I always thought this was a touchback unless the receiving team touches the ball, but I cannot see the touch.
No, you’re thinking of punts. On kickoffs the receiving team still needs to pick up the ball. Think of an onside kick. This was just like a really long one. So the Bills needed to pick up the ball in the end zone to get the touchback.
Cousins is in like 4 of these and I actually had some idiot trying to agrue with me that he is currently a top3 QB hahahaha.. he fall in the 12 to 15 range, let's be real..
Exactly what I was going to say. Cousins was the most frequent player showing up in this video. Yet, he managed to get the first ever 100% guaranteed contract in the NFL. Great negotiator, not so much on the quarterbacking.
Alonso was definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, he's the one that speared Roflcopter during a QB slide which allowed the Steelers to win the game. He also took a serious beating by the Pittsburg players after his stupidity.
Never forget that Joe Judge said Pederson was disrespecting the game for playing his backup QB in the 4th quarter, then a year later he ran a QB sneak on 3rd and 9.
1:07 That is very high IQ playcall. 0 cover and D outmans the box. Too bad the play execution was bad. If that was a TD, everyone would say Pete Carroll is a genius.
5 linemen and 7 in coverage, I'd take my chances with Lynch, personally. It was the right read by Wilson, Butler just made a play. The Seahawks were riding a long string of good fortune in their last two games. They honestly did not deserve to win that year.
@@goodfamily5815 Check out "Thinking in Bets" book by Annie Duke. Very good breakdown of this play and the math behind it all. I agree with @Roy Mela, that it was actually a very high IQ play call. Great call, bad result. Do you think the "Philly Special" was a bad play call too, or no, simply because it happened to work out?
@@skotman85 yup. Everyone looks at the result. They don’t realize that everything in competition, and in life in general is all about probabilities. For example: do that play over and rush 100 times. Lynch might score 85 times. Run the pass play again another 100 times and they might score 91 times. The probability for success is better, thus it’s the correct (better) call. The real life play just happened to be one of the 9 failures and that’s what people judge Carroll on. (The numbers above are for illustration only. They’re not meant to be realistic/actual probabilities.) Think of how many times in life you did the morally right thing only to get screwed because of it. “No good deed goes unpunished”. Different concept, same idea.
If a defensive player is clearly, with both purpose and malice, laying a an opposing player for the obvious intent of keeping an offensive player from getting up, I think the refs should stop the clock immediately and asses a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty. I know not everyone will agree with me, but that is only because some of you have less integrity then me.
there is already a penalty against it. It's called delay of game which is only a 5 yard penalty. It rarely gets called but its clear in the clip that the player was intentially preventing the play getting hiked.
@@thomasrovnak312 Exactly! They used all their flags up on Taunting! LOL However, just like the rules can change in the last two minutes on other things like challenges and injuries, I think the rules need to escalate on this as well. JMO
@@sirmely Seahawks tried to get too cute at the goal line, trying to out play the Pats. Against most teams, it is not a bad decision. Against the Patriots, it is a bad decision. Yeah, Patriots are prepared for the Marshawn Lynch leap over TD. Also, you have to account that the Patriots will also be prepared for your cute tricks. Which is what the Seahawks fell for.
And people say superbowl 54 was undeserving because of choking. That, and superbowl 51. BRADY SHOULD HAVE 5 RINGS, QND ROETHLISBERGER SHOULD HAVE 1, DID YOU SEE ROETHLISBERGER'S SUPERBOWL AGAINST THE SEAHAWKS?
Do you like how he got pissed off at the o-line man who took the ball away from Claypool, knowing that there was no time for dicking around? Unlike Claypool, who was clearly off in la-la land.
