No two Babymetal-song are the same, and Iine is definitely one of the most experimental of their songs, to say the least. Most people (myself included) react with equal parts laughter and confusion, when they hear or see Iine for the first time, so it does make for a good "reaction-video", and you didn't disappoint :) Keep up the good work, sir!

Surprise, that was like 10 "wtf" moments in a row! You smiled and laughed out-loud with every switch in the music. BABYMETAL emotionally judo-flipped you onto the mat of discarded expectations and you jumped up like, 'that didn't hurt!" Its like tasting wasabi for the first time, you just want to spit it out, but pretty soon you can't enjoy the sushi without it. I would also suggest that the "Official" video adds a "cheesy" factor to this song that vanishes when they perform it live. I agree with autohmae, you should do "BABYMETAL - DEATH, Legend 1997" next, so you can get a dose of the diametric opposite style to re-balance your Kawaii-metal zen.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 👍 That was one song, not really the "direction" they were taking in 2012. Compare it to the rest of the songs on the first album. I think they meshed it all really well, which is quite a feat considering all they were mixing together. The contrast is deliberate, they don't just randomly combine things.

Haha, great reaction - and pretty much the same as mine the first time I heard this. I also thought "No, really not for me, it was too much ..." However, some time on and many listens later and I really like (enjoy) iine for all sorts of reasons. This is one song where they really did mix the genres - and that drop into metal after the hip hop section is just so good. The live versions (especially with the Kami Band) are great and the ones with the best audience participation are brilliant. One off the new album I think you will like, Su's vocals are soaring, is 'Shine'. I think you already have 'No Rain, No Rainbow' live at Legend S recommended and on your list, I will second that suggestion, Su's vocals and the emotion she brings out make it something special.

Babymetal loves the crazy genre mixing ! I would say this is Babymetal: 1. still trying to find their sound. And... well they were still kids 2. making sure their future work can be as genre mashing as they want without fans going: this isn't Babymetal LOL And they've definitely done that since, but in a way so more people can enjoy it. For many this song would be to much, many really love the breakdown but not the rest of the song and for some they love it all of it. Let me just say, this is not the song I would have recommended. :-) Even if it might be a fun reaction. How about: Babymetal Death Legend 1997

I would say line! and Uki Uki Midnight were one of the more experimental songs. But I highly recommend going to today’s music in Babymetal. We can tell you’re more into the pop side of their music, and you’ll definitely be getting that in Elevator Girl and in PA PA YA!!

Iine is the first BM song that made me go full "WTF is going on?" I can't say I really like the song, but I sure enjoyed how it made me feel the first time I listened to it.

this song is so much better live. they did this song at wembley 2016. crowd went crazy. the pop to rap to metal is wild. they had the whole crowd bowing and going crazy. remind you this was at the beginning experiment. like doki doki they were using borrowed clothes and didn't know the direction they wanted to go. happily they chose the right path. saw them at the Forum this month and nothing like live Babymetal. it is an experience you have to enjoy. the new songs are so good. to hear Su's voice for yourself is an experience. she is so good. this is why they are #1 on the hard rock billboard charts. the first Asian group to do that and they are on all the top charts all over the world.

it's good that you enjoyed the song, not necessary to like it, although I am huge BABYMETAL fan but some of their songs are meh for me also. however, it is always good to try listening to new things and appreciating the work, even if they are not to the taste. According to your current reaction history to BABYMETAL this is what you have done so far organized according to their albums: 1. Babaymetal (the album) - Megitsune - iine - Doki Doki Morning - Rondo of Nightmare - Headbanger - Ijame Dame Zettai 2. Metal Resistance: - Road of Resistance - Karate - The One 3. Metal Galaxy - None my advise to you, continue the songs of the first album to have the experience and idea behind BABYMETAL, the first album has more experimental songs that will make you react like you did on this song :) the Second album is more towards power metal, and I think you will like many songs of it the third album is also experimental album, but so much interesting than the first album,, you should give it try also.

But think that at this time, they must "sell babymetal" not only to an audience who were used to see Suzuka, Yui and Moa not singing metal, but light poppy songs with the rest of Sakura Gakuin. The producer must have to find "something" to try to sell his idea not only to that public, but also to the record label behind Sakura Gakuin who aren´t very convinced. They can not start with "full metal", they introduce different elements trying to sell the idea behind Babymetal. The song is happy, poppy... a lot like the ones who play Sakura Gakuin with a "little metal" behind them. Oh, and Kei Kobayashi must sell the idea before 2013, because the group "Sakura Gakuin" only have girls from middle school, and when a girl finish middle school must abandon the group, "graduate".
