For many people this has been one of the toughest years... ever. As a company we’ve been committed to keeping our teams employed and feeding our animals. Marsh Farm costs a fortune to run, its break even surpasses 7 figures and some. After receiving the lockdown news in March, we had to shut our doors during one of the farms busiest periods, Easter. We were completely heart broken and extremely worried. This was alien territory. We had to act fast, as we needed something to bring the pennies in! We quickly realised that as most companies don’t have insurance that covers a pandemic, we would have to use our own energy and initiative to survive.
So, we started our Farm Shop and then our Christmas Shop. A couple of lockdowns here and there threw a spanner in the works, but overall the Farm Shop has contributed massively in helping Marsh Farm keep going.
