Thanks this video =) I have clutch problem, my PHILIPS EL3558. No manual no service-manual tell what kind rubber is in. All rubber are melt, like you have. No I know more. Maybe I use O-Ring for his??? or half and glued in place.

Not sure of the model but if you can get it to fit maybe you can make it work

I said the mains cable had been cut off but in fact it was just in hiding in a little caddy.

I've got one to repair at the moment and the dial on this one is held on with an identical looking elastic band. I assumed it was a bodged repair but seeing yours I'm wondering if it was an original feature.

Interesting, I think they might just be using it to keep it in place during assembly. The rubber parts etc have held up fine, but I needed to revisit because one of the belts was to loose and came off after about 2 weeks - there were two different models and I think my belt set was for the wrong one!

@@MakeOrRepair I've ordered belts for this one, I hope they fit. Need to fix the same clutch fault you encountered but I've read that o rings might work. Lots of liquid rubber to shift first of course
