I have to ask, have seen one of these near me in Delft for 100 euros. But already have a teufel connector, do you have a preference or thoughts? Keep up the great work by the way
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel thank you so much. I was pretty much there. But if there is someones opinion I value it is your own. Can't afford the node 2 or 2i I think for my needs the node 100 should be a fine way for me to enjoy the sound signature through streaming and my flacs on usb. Went for the teufel on your review as well. As we say in South London, you really do know your onions! Thanks again Geoffrey
If one has both a node and a pulse do you need to setup the streaming accounts like tidal on all units or does it suffice to just set it up on the node?
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel Hi Hans... I got many different answers from different seller. At the end, The german BS Support sent me a Mail Where they confirmed Amazon music HD for every BlueOS Device. Exavctly they wrote -... At the moment... - so i ordered a Bluesound n100 yesterday for a cheap price. At the end i would not have needed the extra function of a BS 2 or 2i. I will make a Video of BS N100 and Amazon music soon.
It is forbidden by law to rip media that is encrypted, like SACD and Blu-Ray. Offering devices that are able to do this is too. Therefore you will never find hardware that is built to rip SACD.
Other than the shape, what are the differences between this Vault (1) and the Vault 2? As the Vault's internal hard disk will inevitably fail, what redundancies can I put in place? Can I set up hard drive mirroring to and external disk? Thank you.
I haven't reviewed the Vault 2 but the difference between the Node and the Node 2 I mentioned in ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K0lbdeDS-FM.html. Also watch the update ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hC3OEHL1Lqo.html. Since the Vault is based on the Node and the Vault 2 on the Node 2, I think you can get a proper picture. You can set automatic back-ups to an external 2TB self powered hard disk. Since the Hard disc in both Vaults are accessible as SAMBA shares over the network so you can also use a computer on the network to make back-ups.
The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel, Hello,Hans and many thanks for your informative channel. 😎 Just in case anyone might be interested, here is a Bluesound response to my queries: Hi Seamus, A Vault will work for what your inquiring about, for sure! The Vault only connects to the network by an Ethernet cable, to be honest with you... there's not really a problem if you have a non-gigabit connection/port in regards to a Vault VS Vault 2. This is really for transferring files to and from the Vault using a computer, but you shouldn't let this be a sole decision in this case of course. If you need a CD ripper(that acts like a server) which has backup capability.. the Vault will work for you. Kyle Frances, BluOS Support Crew Technical Analyst - Level 2 PULSE FLEX PULSE FLEX - 0179 Aug 17, 11:55 PM EDT Hello Kyle, Looks like a number of compelling reasons to overlook the Vault 1 but as I'm on a budget a Vault 1 may meet my needs if the following scenario can be met. What I need is a CD ripper and server with a backup solution as the internal hard disk is certain to fail at some point. Are the Vaults usually connected to the home wifi network via ethernet cable and is there any real world noticeable disadvantage on a non gigabit. Many thanks for your help and sorry for all the questions but I lost my job a whole back and money is a bit tight these days. In addition to carrying over the original 4 in 1 options of a CD Ripper, 24/192 capable DAC audio player, 2TBs of network storage and an online direct download store with our partners HighResAudio.com now in a sleek new design, we have added a number of hardware options for audio enjoyment; 1) We have added a sub woofer out 2) We have added COAX out allowing you to choose from optical or COAX if connecting to a DAC 3) We have added a second USB port allowing you to continually leave a drive plugged in as a backup system 4) We have integrated Bluetooth directly into the Player so no longer need to use up a USB port permanently with a Bluetooth adapter 5) We have increased the throughput of the network card from 100BaseT to full GigE 6) We have added a Line in for either optical or analogue devices 7) We have added amplifier trigger connectors which were previously only in the original NODE 8) The player includes an IR sensor now which can be programmed using a TV remote to control Volume or next/previous track 9) We have integrated the power supply for a more attractive and less cumbersome power cable 10) We have increased power conservation when idle to meet new EU compliant requirements for an always ready network appliance We did this all while keeping our software simple to use and backwards compatible to be used alongside any existing Bluesound Players you already have in your home for a true multiroom experience. The Vault 2 sounds identical to the Node 2 and has the same functionality as the Node 1. So there is no point doing a review. See my reviews of the Node 2 and Vault.

FAILED AFTER 2 YEARS OF USE. Owned mine for about 2 years and now the CD loading mechanism is broken. So... Expensive mediocre DAC and streamer with poor mechanical reliability. I could not recommend this product. BTW Bluesound support was pretty amazing. Very fast response to my issue and several attempts to fix it remotely. They did offer to sell me a new one for $999. I think for that much money there are better options.
