I played this game when it came out, I was 9. This level is the birth of anxiety.

Took forever for me to beat this level and finish the game as a kid I didn’t know my way around and it came to the point of just getting lucky and getting though the maze without drowning to even have a chance of beating it. Gave me anxiety too lol

This mission messed me up as a kid. Had absolutely no patience for it.

You say its easy but I got stuck on this level and never finished that game...

OMG thank you I spent a few years back all night looking for this scene. I thought it might have been agent under fire or a MGS game. So glad I wasn't just imagining the guy being impaled in a tube lol

This level is easily the worst in the game. An underwater maze with a time limit that controls like ass? No thank you.

I vividly remember getting this Christmas 2000 and the blue case. Great game, I could never beat this level though. It was also the first game I played that showed authentic-proper in terms of realistic speed and actions-weapons reloads! Those graphics are a real throwback:)

Defeating Renard was more of a challenge in the PSone version, the only thing the N64 version had going for it final level wise was the underwater survival.

Now that I've seen it I'll never play that damn level ever again

Mad to see again. I think it's actually aged better than Goldeneye. The three year gap between their releases is significant of course; especially when the history of FPS's are concerned.

2:45 Yeah he just HAD to say that for his last words. I am of course going to remember that most of all for being such bad script writing in a game. Even him saying 'there's no point in living if you can't feel alive' would have been cheesy but had some depth. God this was bad!

After seeing the nightmare that this level is I give up lol. Thank you for the full playthrough! It was fun playing along when I was frustrated and didn't feel like playing /testing for hours to find the answer one question.

I remember this took me forever lol, I kept trying to get in the tube to take Renard... I felt dumb when I found that button! Then, I was disappointed when that's all it took.

It took me forever to finally realize I needed to follow the green lights

I was thinking this game wasnt as bad as i remembered. Then i got to this level.

"How do we end our amazing fps game?" "How about swimming, noone likes that?" "YES"

i remember struggling so much on this level when i was a kid. took me a very long time to beat it.

This game is pretty hard at the beginning but very easy at the end... except for the chopper fight

One time, I left the reactor overheat to see what happened. It's just a bright white flash, and mission failed.

Last level . Avoid submarine crew deaths. Then drown them all this level haha

This level always reminds me the movie Deep Blue Sea!

cheat times on this game is way harder than goldeneye, midnight departure you have to be perfect

Shame it doesn't have mouse support like GE, otherwise I'd give it a shot on PC.

I remember my cousin played this last mission. When the health bar was draining down, I though he was being attacked from behind but that was his oxygen level 4:26 Best part of the game: the finale cutscene.

Just passed it after a few tries.. now onto unlocking the different skins and levels…

The music in this level reminds me of Medal Of Honor: European Assault when you go into the underground Nazi bunker in the Ardennes to find and kill Nazi commander, Von Schrader and stop his nuclear atomic bomb.

It took me a month to beat this game when I was a kid 😂

am this game must have ran like shit if it was on the n64 goldeneye had less graphic fidelity and ran pretty bad.

This fucking level man. Makes u just say fuck it. Not fun or anything like the previous missions just boring and annoying as fuck

You know, watching this playthrough makes it seem like this is the inferior James Bond game. I mean the P2K (aka P99) is either weak or enemies are bullet sponges. Story is short af and can be completed in less than an hour, objectives are easy, health and armor is generously distributed, dropped ammo is scarce and its never enough when you pick it up, enemies hold certain weapons strangely, stages are way too linear, and the music is lackluster. Honestly, this game just feels...lacking, for lack of a better word. Still par for the course with current EA practices. Unfair to compare this to GoldenEye as clearly GE is the superior game. This is an example where better graphics do not make for a better game. I mean this game did not need the cutscenes. Sure they were novel at the time, but look at PD that also came out the same year. Vastly improved over the GE engine and the cutscenes actually lended to both story and mission context. Also the weapon animations were nice and quick. This game felt like you were slogging through mud half the time with some stiff aiming controls. Even headshots didn’t work half the time. Begged to be developed by someone else that knew how to make a good James Bond game.

Recently set up my 64 again, bought a controller pak and passed the game 🥹 I had to rewatch this video so many times 😂
