Thanks for watching my 8th video, don't forget to let me know what your favorite moments are from this classic! I apologize for the slightly lower camera quality in this one, needless to say it should be much better in the next videos. Tune in next time to see me share my favorite instrumental album in Hip Hop, and of course Rest in Peace to Lord Infamous, Koopsta Knicca & Gangsta Boo.

Lord Infamous went hard on every song. The most underrated rapper ever

Dope video. I grew up on Three 6 back in the 90s when I was in middle school. We used to sing Slob On My Knob in class 😂. It's sweet you're shouting out the dark SoundCloud type rappers who are influenced by Three 6. Bones and Ghostemane and all of that stuff is on heavy rotation these days for me. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about that shit.

Thank you so much! That's so cool bc I was only in High School like less than a decade ago, so all that Soundcloud stuff coming out was everywhere. We also knew slob on my knob as like that one goofy middle school song but I also knew Poppin my Collar just bc It was on a "Now thats what I call music" CD I had as a kid lmao. I was so shocked to later find out how influential they were. Thank you for the support!

Great album. Great review. DJ Paul & Juicy J have always been excellent when it comes to the beats.

hey man, love that you're covering this stuff, it's a really great thing. gotta say though, i'm pretty disappointed that you talked mostly about the album's influence and not about the music itself. i think that's a problem with a lot of retrospective reviews of albums that were ahead of their time, they rely a lot on talking about influence but overlook the actual songs and how it sounds. i think it's more than deserving of an overview. especially towards the end, where the review sort of derailed into a rant that had little to nothing to do with the actual contents of the album, bar maybe the lyrics, but even that only tangentially. most people listening to Three 6 Mafia, especially nowadays, probably won't be the conservative extremists you talk about here, but rather young kids that are just curious about one of the darkest hip-hop albums ever recorded.

That rant towards the end was absolutely perfect, no notes, great job

Mystic Stylez is most definitely my favorite album of all time its just perfect from the album cover to the songs i have zero skips on that album and its fucking rare. Im a big fan of Memphis rap in general and im pretty sure i have listened to 99% of Memphis underground artists at this point since even artists with practically zero exposure can produce such good albums but anyways Mystic Stylez will still remain always supreme to me.

This is a good video 👍 I'm a big fan of 3-6. Lord Infamous didn't only just influence rappers of today but he also the creator of horrorcore of Memphis rap. After he did the Serial Killaz tape back in 1992. That's when Memphis started doing horrorcore. He had so much respect that even rappers that rival 3-6 still respected Lord... R.I.P.

So true! Thanks for the info, I remember as a younger fan being blown away by hearing Suicideboys all the time and then discovering Lord Infamous, and how early he was to that sound and the fact he still doesn’t get the credit is insane
