Urban Fragments Kohta Takahashi feat. Kimara Lovelace R4 / Ridge Racer Type 4 / Direct Audio Main theme from Ridge Racer Type 4 / Introduction Nobody knew how to rock a CGI intro in the '90s like Namco. Choice of music included.
This game was THE defining title for arcade racers on the PS1 era. Amazing graphics, sound, ost, and it had a story. a *STORY* in a arcade racing game. The presentation was over the top.
compared to cold hard and unapproachable car games, this game had some sort of spell, some charisma that I was not able to find. I was hopeful this was the future of racing games, and then it has never been topped since. They got the chemistry right in R4. Hasn't been duplicated since.
Enki will have a word with him afterwards though "You managed to win as always, but remember I want you to focus on the race and not loose yourself to the allure of women flocking around you
It's the kind of thing that would only ever happen in the world of Ridge Racer....Which is part of what I loved about these games. It was like a fantasy universe for racing fans. Definitely not the real world, something more surreal and crazy.
Composer Kohta Takahashi and singer Kimara Lovelace did such a good job here! I feel like late 90s to early 2000s Japanese games hired some great American singers in addition to Japanese ones. I love "I AM THE WIND" sung by Cynthia Harrell in the ending credits for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. She also sang "Snake Eater" in Metal Gear Solid 3. Sonic R soundtrack vocalist Teresa Jane Davis also come to mind.
He's the one for me There's no place I'd rather be... yeah, yeah To the finish line Everywhere you look he's right on time With his silent stare Blazing through the open air He's without a care ohhhh..... yeah... Everywhere you look he's right on time Move into the beat Can you feel the heat? when your tires kiss the street Step back, it's Ridge Racer A Ridge Racer He gives me what I need One more win its Ridge Racer A Ridge racer i feel the need for speed Step back, it's Ridge Racer A Ridge Racer He gives me what I need One more win it's Ridge Racer A Ridge racaaa Racer! Ahh, yeah! Ridge Racer! Ridge Racer! Ahhh... ooohh... ridge racer... Step back, it's Ridge Racaaaaa he only wants to give me what i need Yeah... Ridge Racer! Ridge Racer! (Ridge Racer...)
One of the best intros ever with one of the best intro songs ever. Every time I booted this game up there was no way that I could skip this intro and its song. Great stuff, thanks for the upload.
Fun Fact: In The Video Game "Friday Night Funkin" This Was Used For Testing Song Charts, In The Downloadable Version Of F.N.F Its Knowledge As "Ridge" While The Audio File Is Missing You Can Get The Song Fully Functioning By Checking Out This Tutorial By Some Guy Called "Flippy" Also Additionally The Person Who Composed This Song Also Has Now Made Music For This Games "ERECT" Mode. Specifically The ERECT Remixe Of "High" From Week 4 aka "Mommy Must Murder" Where You RapBattle Girlfriends Mother, "Mommy Mearest".
Lo que me encantaba era este soundtrack tan sensual y lleno de una vibrante energia y las conversaciones picaras que habian entre carreras importantes te hacian sentir que pertenecias al equipo y que dieras lo mejor de ti para no perder "ganar a toda costa"
This song somehow made me want to beat this game, i used to get up past my bedtime just to watch the intro it had some type of power i cant explain but i loved it
Man, it's 2023 and I've still listened to this song. This game along with its musics was a masterpiece, and my first Ridge Racer game. Also, to be honest RRT4 was the reason I was into a cars for the first time.
Fun fact: actually this song isn't even at the game, there is a secret track (probably just for tests) that used this song originaly as base for the track.

Ridge Racer Type 4 was one of my favorite racing games on the PS1 back in the day (And it's even on the PS Classic!), so hearing this song again in FnF was a pleasant surprise. I heard this intro so many times as a kid.
omg the soundtrack of this is amazing, i remember this was the only game my gran had at the time lol. the aesthetics of this game are also amazing, like all the UI and the UI animations are so ahead of it's time.

First jpegmafia fans coming into the comment section of move me and now a bunch of people who played some fuckin flash rhythm game are here now... well at least r4's soundtrack is getting the attention it deserves
23 years later I decided to stick the old R type 4 in. Drifting skills have rusted a bit, but still won the grand prix with no losses in team pac man with manual drive. Hopped on to YT to chill with some Type 4 ost. Real roots 99, Based roots 99.
This game rocked because It checked alot of marks, It was cool, fun and challenging the music made it intense. I love the intro because it made you want be the driver that picked up the lady. Like com'on nothing like fast cars and beautiful women.
@@jimbotron70 nope she really was born half an hour away from her. Kimara comes from Somerville, which is 30 minutes away from Edison New Jersey where Halsey comes from.
