I'm using these LD2410 sensors and having very good results. The manufacturer, HLK has a usb board and pc application with which you can adjust numerous parameters on the device. Also, the LD2410B has a Bluetooth radio that allows you to do the same with a very nice Android app. In fact, your device's may be LD2410Bs being sold as LD2410. Scan for Bluetooth with the radar powered on and you may be surprised. Enjoy!

Jumper wire inaccurate link - Can you advise the cnnector details please as too small for me to solder. Thanks

FYI the Rx/Tx gives you distance and visibility into the "energy" readings. This lets you for example turn an LCD backlight on if you get close enough to a thermostat, or lets you control lights in multiple zones. Light 1 close, and Light 2 farther away.. I recommend using the Rx/Tx - its quite handy.

thanks for the informative video ! you probably already know this but the difference in sensitivity is probably because of the default settings saved in the sensor, for sensetivity and such, this can be modified maybe with an arduino library or there's a uart to usb adapter with the software from hi-link that you can use to figure out the settigns and program the module. you can see distance and sensitivty for motion and motionless targets, it could of course also be a problem with the manufacturing process, Andreas spiess shows this in his review of this module if you want to find out more !

Thank you for making this video. Great job on the project and on making this video. It's very timely for me since I've been putzing around with a RCWL-0516. Ordered the LD2410, but didn't know about the header/cable issue. They don't make it easier.

lol i had a very bad experience with the RCWL-0516, it's inconvenient because it detects 360 degrees and through the walls so you can't really confine it to one room without adding a big reflector atleast 1cm behind, also it doesn'twork on 3.3v so it's an inconvenience for esp8266 and esp32...

@@gibranzawahra4224 Good point. Thank you for adding that detail and clarity. I'll line a small project box with aluminium foil and glue the sensor to the bottom of the lid. I've managed to load Tasmota on it and get it to work. But I'm still trying to integrate it with Alexa and Smartthings. That's the ultimate goal.

Tks man, Those sensor works incredibly well! I'm building 10 of those "super sensor 2.0", except for the BME680 (at the moment they costs more than a SNZB-02 from sonoff xD). I'm astonished by the quickness of the Ld2410... This thing can detect me entering the room instantly. I though I would use the PIR sensor for the "light on" command, but there's no difference in the speed of detection. Again, thanks for those videos!!

Exactly like you say NO ONE gives the proper info not even this video. I want that RX and TX set up, but i cannot find anywhere on howto do it. Its sooo frustrating, only seeing like 80% of the project explained but the programming is just left to guesswork.

Hey my dude. Thanks and I have a question: if I had to use battery could I leverage the PIR as the high sensitivity trigger that turns on radar (and its higher power usage) to confirm that we do in fact have a human in the proximity. My objective is as a modular home security detection setup for when I'm traveling at diff air bnbs. I know I could plug it in to the wall and solve the power issue but this is my engineering challenge I've given myself. How to make radar power efficient. Open to you and your other viewers Intel on this. Thanks all in advance.

I, too, would like a link to the wired header you are using. I can't find a 1.27mm 5 pin header anywhere. Thanks.

Simple question here because I am going crazy searching for the right connector type. Does anybody know what type of connector goes on the header pins on the LD2410? It doest seem to be DuPont or micro JST. Thanks for the info in advance. By the way, great video! Will help a lot setting them up with ESP's I have here already.

Anyone get a lead on where to find the correct hear connectors? Or even what the are called. The link resolves to standard dupont connectors which are too big. Thanks!

Im confused on which voltage these actually need. Do you need to supply 5v or can you get away with the 3.3v the esp32 supplies?

I had some problems with the same sensor. After the moving person stops, it detects the motionless for a certain period of time. It doesn't do it after a while. Also, have you ever tested the sensor outdoors?

I ordered the LD2410B and just supplied 5v then Home Assistant auto detected over bluetooth.
