In this video series, I take questions from other physical therapists and answer them to the best of my abilities. I believe it is really important to share the knowledge gained from experience in the field to people who are new to the field. I will accept questions from any therapist as long as they are general in nature and not specific to an individual child. It is considered unethical for me to provide treatment recommendations for a child I have not personally evaluated.
Thank you to Luis Freile who sent me this question.
I am so honored to have people from all over the world watch my videos. I have reviewed and corrected the closed captions for this video so that you might understand what I am saying even if you don't speak English. I hope the directions below are helpful to you.
To turn on Captions, click CC in the bottom right corner of the video
To choose a different caption language:
At the bottom right, click Settings. It looks like a wheel.
Click Subtitles/CC.
Select a language.
If the language isn't listed when you click Subtitles/CC:
Click Auto-translate.
Select a language.
Of course, if the captions are in the way of viewing the details in the video, you can always turn them off in the bottom right-hand corner of your video screen.

Amazing! Thank you for doing this series. I am a new peds PT graduated in 2020 and have been working virtually and it's been challenging to grow and learn on my own. Thank you for being my PT mentor! :)

Wonderful! Active listening is always helpful. Also, I would add asking about their eating, have they easily moved towards a nice variety of food, or is a 4 year old child still drinking formula (that could happen). Knowing that would help the therapy 😁💪🦋

Really love your videos! So I'm a pre pt student who is looking to go to either PT or OT school and the peds setting interests me. my question is, I know it can be physically demanding (which is awesome because i cannot see myself having a desk job haha) but people talk to me about how my low back and hands could be negatively affected from this profession. Have good body mechanics helped you in ped physical therapy to avoid any injuries to yourself? Thank you so much !

hello dear Amy! thank you for all efforts firstly, ı just wonder that how you evaluate the muscle strenght of a child who can not receive our command. Thank you from now!
@pediatricPTexercises
@pediatricPTexercises Год назад
You can only assess their strength and directly by what they can functionally do

thank you for your answer! Lastly, ı want to ask; for assesing the muscle strenght who can receive commands, do you apply the tests according to grades (0,1,2,3,4,5) for each position (according to gravity) or only briefly? ı wonder that because sometimes what we learn in school and practices can be a little bit change.@@pediatricPTexercises

@@defnesonmezsk3808 It all depends on the child and what I think they would understand, cooperate with be capable of doing…and ultimately how important the exact measures are
