With all due respect for the victims of this incident, i feel for the people who have to clear the mess afterwards. They deserve much respect. Yes they are getting paid for it and yes it is their job, but seeing that much devastation can really get to you.

PTSD can definitely happen to them. My late father was a police officer before I was born and he was dispatched to a horrible accident where a young girl lost her life and he ended up leaving the police force because of it. First responders pay a heavy toll on events like these. They could also use many prayers for comfort and peace.

Trucking has always been a dangerous occupation and isn't getting any better it's getting worse because of failed forced upon us regulations by the federal government in the name of safety. You can blame elds the hours of service and governed trucks partial credit for these types of accidents. Because these so called safety regulations cause folks to drive in these types of conditions because of that ticking time of by the hours of service and just in time deliveries.

Got nothing to do with thinking your GODS gift to driving and all about being 100 percent at attention to your driving and your surroundings and road conditions. I drove all day yesterday on icy roads and a few other times this winter and had no issues because I don't take anything for granted and pay 100 percent attention to what's going on with the weather and road conditions because they are always changing mile by mile. Inattentive driving is what causes these types of wrecks because people are in their own little worlds and are clueless about what is happening around them like changing road conditions.

@@hippiebits2071 Don't be so quick to believe the propaganda. It's not only causing undue & very unnecessary suffering but it's killing people. CDC admitted they inflated the numbers of prescription opioid overdoses deaths. If addiction was as common as they would have you to believe, then most of us should be addicted. The prescribing is at a 20 year low yet overdose is up. It's not prescription problem. It's illicit opiods but there's money to be made in suboxone & in illicit drugs by private sector & alphabet agencies, courts DA,etc. Also a big difference between addiction & dependence. Addiction a person becomes dysfunctional. Dependence is same as being dependent on stations or heart meds or any other meds your body becomes dependent upon to function properly.
@hippiebits2071
@hippiebits2071 3 года назад
Really...I don't even know many people and I know at least 4 dead from opioids. I have had clients (unrelated field)obviously stuggling with addictions to the point I would rather lose the business than deal with them. I have two friends and one relative I expect "the" call on at any given moment...two have ZERO quality of life due to their addiction and the other is very much headed there. I've sat for hours in the ER next to an addict who had self injured and was screaming at the nurse about what she felt her "proper" dose was...SHE WAS 14!!! Does this happen to everyone...no, but the fact that it's happening to anyone is absolutely tragic. Please tell me how any of what I just wrote is propaganda??? My guess is that you either are a nurse who would rather have patients sedated than listen to them complain or you live in a household with someone who can't kick the stuff (possibly even yourself). My heart goes out to these people it really does, and I don't think other people should have to unnecessarily suffer in pain but to suggest even most of these people need opioids without knowing the extent of their injuries is silly and misguided. Injuries ARE painful by design. People have been healing for decades while in discomfort, it's a reality of life unfortunately.

@ruth7965
@ruth7965 3 года назад
That is a common misperception. When you move to a different state and renew your insurance, it is reevaluated by your new zip and state. Your premiums will in increase or decrease based on the driving/crash data from your location. Also, i live north of this location and north of this crash for 100 plus miles north (the area they came from) we had NO precipitation at all. All the freezing rain was south, the area the traffic was headed. I don’t watch tv but i would like to know if the weather was warning these drivers of the hazard. It all happened just before the sun rose, so it was black ice they didnt see. Texas doesn’t get freezing ice or snow very often. It caught them off guard. If your a truck driver and been driving a couple 100 miles with no ice or snow - how do you know when you happen upon the ice line (where it begins) ? I wonder why the police didnt have warning signs up - (use the amber alert signs to warn drivers of the black ice)? And did the local weather and radio warn of the danger? So sad.
