Thank God for such teachers. We would be lost without them. They have preserved this precious knowledge from generation to generation and not let it die.

Wink !!! Cheers !!!!
How wonderful you are. Thank you for service. How fortunate we can simply tunein to RU-vid for Vedanta! Humanity requires this wisdom. We are all seekers even if we do not realize this at this time.
The best explanation of 'Who Am I'. Swamy Sarvapriyananda has the incredible knack explaining the most difficult aspects of Vedanta in a language everyone can understand. His knowledge is vast but his ability to peel it like a banana is unsurpassed.
So True! I listen to your talks on Brahman separate from body-mind-ego, and I immediately sense the distance between Me/Chitt/Brahman and body-mind-ego, but as soon as I log out of your videos, I forget about the Brahman and again fall back into my habit of mistaking myself as body-mind-ego. Practice and meditation on this "distance" to make THIS a habit or point of our reference of our living instead of body-mind-ego, is the goal. Like Shri Krishna says in Gita, meditate/dhyan karo, your mind is chanchal will run after sense satisfaction, you bring it back into meditation, mind will again run after senses, you bring it back again and keep doing it still chanchal mind is stabilized in your meditation. Thank you Swami Sarvapriyananda. I found you after IIT Kanpur course, and it opened a world to me, immediately telling me what Brahman is all about that we Indians keep reading everywhere since childhood and listening through grandma stories. Please continue making videos. God bless you!
Vyasa, Buddha, Shankara, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Ramanamaharshi, Tapovanam, Chinmayananada, and now this swami (of course I am leaving out countless others), but how wonderful. All brilliant intellects, yet at the same time complete abandonment of the ego. This is supreme Brahman.
@Zeke - I understand that's your opinion but have you personally met or recall meeting Buddha LIVE to experience how an enlightened person looks like? I don't think so. So, at best ,what you have is also simply your BELIEF or deduced OPINION about how Buddha was. Similarly, what Vijay has written above is his best deduced opinion and in his case, he has actually met or experienced the Swami LIVE. And one last thing - I need not even accept "nirvana" in my spiritual path of the vedas and enlightenment can still occur without it...so no question of 'cheapening' something thats not the only way. Peace :)
@Subhodeep Thakur Muhammad was a bad person and did all kind of sins like debauchery, theft, ambush, massacres and deceptions. But we should hate sin not the sinner. So we don't need to hate Muhammad. He was no better than fake godmen we see these days. He was lucky though that there was no media back then to reveal truth otherwise he would be in prison. But real point is, We are punished by our sins and not for our sins as. So Muhammad was punished for his own sins and he lived an unhappy life despite all access to wealth, women and praise. It also teaches us that things Muhammad fought for like wealth, praise don't bring any real value in life. While Jesus even loved those who killed him on cross and Buddha loved those who abused him, Muhammad hated anyone who didn't accept his views and even ordered their killings. What a difference. I have never found an example where Buddha sanctioned killing someone but Muhammad sanctioned many such killings, for instance massacre of Banu Qurayza ,a jewish tribe.
We should not go by appearance to judge who is enlightened. Otherwise they would not have killed Jesus. Buddha too was not accepted by all as enlightened . Such information comes only from Pali texts that were composed much later than Buddha's death. I am not affirming or denying that Swami Sarvapriyananda is enlightened. All I am saying that appearances are not good indictor of enlightenment.
Dear Swamiji. I am watching & listening your valuable lectures it gave me immense happiness. From now onwards I will follow you for my the rest of my life. Thank you. Kesava Chandra Rao.C.
Shanti! Shanti! Shanti! Nothing but everlasting love for those who have liked, listened... Even for those who don't! Come out from behind your blinding ignorance and shine as the sun! All shall shine after you, Atman.
Really eye opening lectures dispelling our doubts regarding who we are and why do we exist and how we get freedom from our bondage that is this illusory world. brilliant lectures.
To make others understand these complex subjects one must be a master of it and undoubtedly you are one.. simple explanations on tough and complex subjects.. great Swamiji
This is so so unreal. This swami's eyes are like sparkling crystals. So pure. The ashtavakra explanation is literally life changing. This knowledge is so profound. In today's time & age of white noise, his talks cuts through like sunshine.
Anadita Singh Not everyone in the mission can / give Diksha. But he is very open to discussion and a fantastic speaker as abundantly evident through multiple videos. Back in school, he taught us world war 2 and piqued our interests to unforeseen limits. The pedagogy and the deliverance were eyeopening.
@@pariveshpriye6494 I can only imagine what an unforgettable experience must be for his students. Simply amazing. I would hope they send him to India real soon
1:10:30 - 1:16:30 -Three verses meditation - pure Knowledge..... Push it out to a distance, give it a name - God,father or heaven etc. you have a religion. Thanks a lot Swamiji.
Thanks for being there Maharaj. I have been going through your Talks on Ashtavakra Gita at different centers over the years. Each one is a gem and helping me to stay as Consciousness while mind comes up to topple. The distracting thoughts help me stay alert and regain the ground. Thanks again, Maharaj
I read Bhagwad Gita and I had confusion, I read Patanjali's Yog Sutra, and I didn't get it. I read Ashtavakra Gita too, didn't relate to it. Then I listened this lecture, and I think now I can read them all again. That's the value of a good teacher. 🙏
Swamiji ur talks uplift.....down there the one who was sulking after listening to u rises high above in the sky smiling, now untouched with what it has left behind
Regularly listening will purify your mind and make you a fully fledged human being free from animal qualities of violence and killings, vice and corruption etc.
Tora Mana Darpan Kehlaaye Bhale Bure Saare Karmoko Dekhe Aur Dikhaaye Tora Mana Darpan Kehlaaye!! Thank you so much Swamiji for such enlightening words. I still cannot forget that day when I coincidentally met you at Central Park. The meeting and emotions involved with it are so vivid. You have helped open up another dimension in my spiritual journey!! Hari Om!!
I found what I always was looking for. You are the best with sense of humor and it makes my understanding of Vedanta with your smile feels very light. Though sometimes even at my age my mind gets so away. I have to concentrate to get it. Thank you and please stay safe in New York. Namskar swami.
This is great! This is such a blessing to hear this teaching. Another book that is like this is “the heart of silence” by Robert Adams, it’s poetry how it keeps driving the same point home in different ways.
imagine how lucky we are to be able to just come here and find this wisdom ..like what are the odds for one to have come across him in times when we didn't have this technology? how may of us would still be wandering in lust pursuing a mirage?
Om Krishnaya namah! Thank you swami-ji for this compassionate discourse on spiritual life. Hari Om Tat Sat! Hari Om Tat Sat ! Hari Om Tat Sat! Shree Krishnarpanam Astu Subham Bhuyat! Om Shanti! Shanti! Shanti! Shree Ramakrishna Swaha!!!!! Om !!!!
Pronam Swamiji, we are blessed to listen to you. This lecture on Ashtavakra Geeta and all other video lectures that I have listened to are so beautiful, profoud and become so lively with your art of explaining the most complex concepts in the most simple and a very humble way. My Guru Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra has said that ''With the hope for Name, fame and riches, do not make me your Lord or Master. If the Mastery within awakens not, then Master, Centre none you have and deceiving others, you shall be deceived.'' I realize the meaning of this while listening to your lectures. The mastery within is the Pure Conciousness , the Sakshi Conciousness as stated in Mundak Upanishad.
Felt like something to share with anyone this morning - it is about Advaita Vedanta philosophy. Swami Sarvapriyananda always try to convey this that there are two phases to Advaita. I just got it my way now and it seems to be like following : I feel that the dearest ones to me are always with me forever but I know that is not. First phase. I feel that dearest ones are always with me forever and I know all are my dearest. Second phase.
Jai Guru Swamiji, I think I have watched almost all ur lectures, some repeatedly also. I’m really really grateful. Since last 15-20 years I was searching for the truth which I didn’t understand but now I’m very much clear about it. And one thing I must say that to understand Brahma one must be pure human being first, which You are. Thanks a lot 🙏
Wonderfully explained “ I am not my mind i am not my body” Thank you swamiji. Got the answer for the questions which i have for 5 years since i heard sadguru’s meditation technique in youtube.
Thanks for posting this. I listened to this pravachana with rapt attention. I will listen to this again multiple times. I have many questions from listening to it the first time. Thanks again.
Ramana Maharshi's enquiry of 'who am I?' along with the understanding you have given is sufficient to realise and be the Self swamiji. Hope I can repay to you one day.
Pranam Maharaj. How would you describe the consciousness in a person suffering from severe Alzheimer’s or prolonged coma? What would the pure consciousness bliss in him would experience? How can this situation be explained in someone’s life. I always enjoy your lectures. They are so clear and impressive. 🙏🏽
Sometimes Advaita philosophy is mistakenly labelled as mayavadi or philosophy of nothingness. Moreover, dualists accuse it of being atheistic. However, Swami Sarvapriyananda puts it so elegantly that no conflicts remains, and one can sense the reality as it is.
Great talk. Isha foundation's Sadhguru has a way how we are different from the body. If we have an apple, we possess an apple and we are not that we possess. Next, you eat the apple and it is accumulated into your system, and the body grows. What you accumulated cannot be you, because you existed before you ate. So, body is not you, it's the intelligence that is within the body that converted the apple or anything else into the body, without confusion. Thanks.
25:20 The discourse starts and the swami {hindu monk} jumps straight to the 4th verse in the 1st chapter of this great text on non-dual {advaita in Sanskrit} philosophy. The verse is: Yadi Deham Prithag Kritvaa Chiti Visraamya Tishthashi. Adhunaiva Sukhi Shaanto Bandha Mukto Bhavishyasi. For the meaning, listen to the service, which you can also play at 1.25 times the normal speed. Enjoy and be free!
Go on the road or around see if there is a dog hungry feed it! If a bird thirsty a monkey needs your help or a cow to be saved. Help them. The real goodly hood lies in selflessness so prove your self to be God just live the Asthawakra by being so....👍
@@cryptonite8237 You do not understand Achynta Bheda Abheda Tattva. As my spiritual Master AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada said: "If you think you are Krishna create a universe." I would imagine you never created a universe? You are confused. I'm sorry
@@tapasyatyaga4041 Prabhupad has devised his own bhakti ways , written his own Gita(as per his gurus), but totally contradicting original Gita spoken by lord Krishna. Gita as it is.
