Very interesting Neil. I have EGTB1S3 on a Scangauge on my Fortuner, and saw it go over 700 C when the DPF burn happened while doing some steep tracks a few days ago. The DPF burn noticeably knocks the fuel economy around too. Your trans temps are impressive with the lockup kit. I don't intend to tow so probably won't do cooler or lockup kit. The maximum Trans temp at the torque converter was on a warm day and a steep climb when it got to the low 90s. A question about your tyres, have you changed back from the muddies to ATs for caravan touring?
Fortuner std lock up is 4th, 5th and 6th But in std form it will unlock at the wiff of a hill, with the lock up kit it will stay locked up for a lot longer I have the Richards lock up kit, it has high and a low lock up In high it will lock up in 4th, 5th and 6th, i have mine set to lock at 80kph and unlock at 70kph In low lock it will lock up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Other brands of cars can be different
