Jimbo mate, just passed my driving test over at Hornsby FIRST GO!! Absolutely stoked and just wanted to thank you for all the content you've put out in your videos. They were a massive help!
Hey Jimbo, just wanted to say thank you for helping me pass at Silverwater today! Tbh after I failed the first two times I thought that I might never get my Ps, what a long journey it was but it all paid off in the end! Thanks again and Keep Making these videos!
Hi Jimbo! This isn’t a success story, however, it is a massive thank you. I had conflicting feedback from the two instructors I undertook lessons with. One said that I was ready to go for my Ps, whilst the other kept holding the wheel at random times and saying I was awful. After these lessons I lost a lot of my confidence, and so I tried RU-vid as another Avenue to learn from. The first thing that came up was your channel, and I must say it has been a huge help! You’ve helped rebuild my confidence and contributed to my gained safer driving skills. I cannot thank you enough! I’m feeling more prepared than ever for my Ps test in the Far North Coast NSW. I’ve recommended your videos to everyone I know! Thank you Jimbo!
Hi Mickey so glad I am able to help you get your confidence back. Sorry to hear you had bad experience with an instructor. Please free to contact me here on youtube , facebook or email if you have any questions. Let's try and get your Pz soon !!!
I got my driving test tomorrow, my driving instructor taught me using primarily acronyms to make it easier to remember. For lane change i learnt "MISS" ; Mirror, Indicate, Sidemirror, Shoulder, then the lane change. Hopefully that holds up, as well as my shoulder checks, thanks for the vids
Hi Jimbo, watched all your videos, have been rusty behind the wheels, just passed my driving test yesterday, overseas full licence conversion, thanks for the awesome videos, may you be richly blessed🙌 !!
Passed my driving test “FIRST GO” (Gregory Hills) yesterday, (Feb 1, 2021) my lucky day😀. Thanks for your tips, found your videos day before my test & watched it. Very helpful videos, you did a great job👍🏻👏🏻Thank you so much
Congratulations Simply Amazing on passing 1STGO at Gregory Hills!!! Great effort. So glad I could help you out. Thanks for watching and always stay safe :)
My test is booked next week and am hesitant to pay for more driving lessons. This videos have been a blessing in detailing instructions that were confusing in the books

Hi Jimbo, I recently passed my NSW driving test at botany and I would like to thank you from my bottom of my heart for putting up such wonderful videos. It really helped me and I would like thank you once again. Amazing work.
I passed !! 106/ 105. Thank you so much I got my Ls abit late as one of my family members was in a fatal crash just a few days before my Ls so I wasn’t to confident to go out and drive. I’ve still been worried driving after seeing to consequences can have to unsafe driving but with your videos you turned my worried driving into cautious driving. Thank you so much I’ll be recommending you to everyone who is going for there Ps
Hi Jimbo! I passed on the first go today thanks to your videos! I’ve been putting off getting my Ps for over 4yrs but you’ve helped me gain the confidence! Thank you so much 🙏🏻

Thanks Jimbo, I watched all your videos after I fail my first driving test. If only I watched your videos before I took my first drive test, it may be a different result. But thanks to you I passed my class C license exam in Penrith last Friday.(I do conversion of my overseas license to nsw one)
I'm glad you mentioned checking blind spots for short people 😜 I'm very short and was looking through the rear windows and didn't understand why my instructor kept joking that he'd need to buy me a physio appointment lol
Hey Jimbo, turned 17 on friday and passed my Ps first go!!! I really love your videos and they helped me a lot in the final days before my test, i managed to get 109/109, remembering all my head checks. Once again, thanks for your help, legend!!!!!
Congratulations Blazeek on passing 1STGO and getting a 100% score. A great effort. So glad I could help you out. Thanks for supporting my channel and stay safe ☺️
I failed the test at Howell Oval last week and the lady in front of me who passed the test also mentioned your videos helped her pass. I made a silly mistake but hopefully I will get it next time.
Hi, just came across your channel. I m an instructor from the UK 🇬🇧. Just wanted to say your doing great things on your vids. I ve been in the business 24 yrs dealing with all types of driver training. Looks like we teach quite similar routines for various hazards on the road. Can't beat commentary driving . Well done again , great job.
Hi Latchman Drepaul glad to hear from another instructor and from over in the UK. Hope you are staying safe from COVID. I have also been teaching 24 years having done my first lesson in 1997. Yes commentary driving is a good tool. Take care and stay safe :)
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thanks for the reply. Yes all safe here. We have a national lockdown at the moment so no lessons and tests going on til at least end February. I also teach driving in the Military so I can still do that til civvy lessons open up again. Hope things OK over your side. Keep up the great work your doing. Stsy safe, all the best. L
Hey Jimbo! My test is scheduled on the 25th, I just want to say thankyou so much for all the help! You’ve really made me much more confident, hopefully I’ll have some good news in two days :)
Jimbo, thanks so much for this video. I nearly ran into an accident in lane change at castle hill 2 months ago because I didn’t know I need to check blind spot. I stopped driving for one month since that incident. Your video has helped me restored confidence and I just went for practice ran today and did 5 lane changes! Thanks so much. Going for a test tomorrow and I really hope I pass owing to the help of your amazing videos!
It’s very important not to turn the wheel while your shoulder checking..only start moving over into the new lane, once you’ve completed the shoulder check and looking straight ahead.
I just wanted to thank you!!!!! I did a whole month practice, I watch all you videos. It’s all ao easy to understand. I had my test a week ago and I passed on the first go. I just wanted to thank you for dedicating your time and giving such great tips.
Cheers Jimbo! Passed my Ps first go after watching ur vids!!! Watching your vids really helped me to affirm my knowledge on the road and be a safer driver!!! Thanks!
Wonderful lesson! I just started driving and was confused on when/why to check blindspots when changing lane. This video really explains it nice and clear. Thank you!
Hey Jimbo! I passed my test last Monday over at Castle Hill (2nd attempt) (discovered your channel the night before my first attempt) While I was fairly confident in my driving, your videos really helped clarify and simplify certain situations, such as when you can safely enter a roundabout and who has right of way at intersections. Going into the test with your advice helped calm my nerves and focus on getting everything right. Thank you so much.
Congratulations Phrozen Gaming on passing your driving test at Castle Hill. Great work. Glad I could help you out. Thanks for watching and stay safe :)
Just pass my test in Liverpool today. I'm very happy and really want to thank you for your great videos. The way you describe everything is amazing and thanks for answering all my questions. Thank you again ! Keep up the great work 👍 Stay safe 😃🙏
Hi Jimbo, Thanks for your valuable videos. I passed the test in the 1st Go and got P2 surrendering the overseas license. I watched all of your videos and they helped me a lot. Thank you again. :)
I had my test today in Victoria and passed with no critical errors (although nearly had an instant fail in the last 2 minutes when turning right at traffic lights and the car to my left decided to do a U turn across me - luckily I braked without the examiner intervening). Your videos helped immensely! I am older than most learners and never thought I would manage to get my licence, so am still in disbelief that I actually did it. My anxiety nearly got the better of me (luckily my examiner was super friendly and reassuring), so maybe a video on how to cope with that would be useful for others.
Congratulations Stephanie on passing your driving test!!! Great work. Yes a video on driving test anxiety is a great idea. Thanks for supporting my channel and always stay safe :)
Thank you very much Jimbo🙂. I passed my driving test first go at Rockdale. I’ve been watching your videos regularly. They helped me a lot. Your generosity is appreciated. From Raphael.

Thank you very much sir !!! You are doing excellent job! You know what I just got my full licence in blacktown in first go (I have overseas licence but needed to clear drive test) only by watching your videos. It's full rainy day but your explanation, your tricks, your suggestions works correctly and completely. Appreciate it. Cheers :)
Hi Jimbo, two questions - 1. if you see in your centre mirror there is a car in that lane and there is no safe gap to change lanes, should you still do the shoulder head check at that moment or wait until that car has either passed or maintains its speed to repeat the process? also, is it ok to do multiple head checks? 2. what happens if an examiner asks you to turn right but because no cars let you in to the right lane you couldn't get into the right turning lane and hence couldn't turn right? Thanks!
Hi Angelina sorry for the delay I missed you post. 1. If it is not safe in the mirror you don't have to check blindspot. You can if you want to update around you. Certainly do it once it is safe in the mirrors. You can do multipel head checks if you want. I often do. 2. If you can't make a turn then tell the examiner you can't do it and do something you can do like keep going straight. You are off course but usually the examiner can get you back on course.
Hi Jimbo, just wanted to say thank you so much for all your help - passed first go today at Gregory Hills and I guarantee I would've failed if it weren't for your videos!
Congratulations Anne-Marie on passing 1STGO at Gregory Hills. Great effort. So glad my videos helped you out. Thanks for watching and always stay safe :)

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thanks so much!! I passed first go at Bathurst with a score of 106. So glad you made all the videos, it has helped me a lot. I will definitely continue to watch your content.
Hi Jimbo, I have been watching your videos from past few months. You are doing a great job! Thank you so much. Quick question- when changing lanes do we keep our foot on the break or accelerator? My driving instructor says to move my foot from accelerator to break. I’ve noticed doing this reduces my speed when I’m changing lanes. My friends have told me my foot should be on the accelerator to maintain traffic flow. I’m confused on what I should be doing.
Hi Aditi yes usually you don't want to unnecessarily slow down when changing lanes unless you need to for a specific reason. Ie something close in front is slowing and you want to go around it. Generally stay on accelerator and maintain speed when changing lanes.
Hi Jimbo, new to your channel. I have been watching your vid fast few days as I have a driving test on 19 of Nov. And this is helpful I hope I can pass my driving test as I cannot afford to make a new booking again and I don't want to pay for another test too. Thanks for the share
Hi, Great videos. Love your number plate. I have been driving for fifty years. No accidents. Zero points. In a car park, I accelerated to avoid a car about to hit me. The car more than moved, it pounced and I hit the window of a shop. The NRMA said it sounded like an anomaly in the EMS computer. The police didn’t charge me but said I had do a full driving test, not just the oldies’ one. Cleared on eye and medical. I failed the test. 94%. Failed on decision making. The Examiner marked me down heavily on multiple items in a short travel space, because I wouldn’t change lanes in front of an ambulance with its lights on, but no siren. I wasn’t being indecisive, just wasn’t going to cut in front of an ambulance. This persisted for three short blocks and three sets of traffic lights. I was in the right lane of three, with the ambulance in the middle. Yes, I did indicate, once I thought it safe to change lanes. After a little research, I found the training manual for driving an ambulance, which said an ambulance driver might not use the siren, if the paramedics are performing a procedure in the back on a patient or the patient freaks out, because of the the siren. She, the Examiner, said there were two car lengths open to crossover. At 60 kph a little squeezy, me thinks. The ambulance could have accelerated, as I was turning. I assume a hazard possible within three to five seconds? Should I normally give way to the ambulance under the stated lights on, no siren conditions? Go to the NSW Police for a ruling? The NSW Service Centre is near a hospital. Thanks Peter
Hi Peter it's my understanding that you need to try and get out of the way of an ambulance who has lights on whether they have the siren or not. What exactly did you get the fail for ? Can you email a pic of your test sheet to thedrivingtestguynsw@outlook.com.au ?
