Thank you so much for this! I managed to unlock my own bike chain after 20 or so mins! It was very useful to watch what you were doing and try to apply it to my lock - got it on the second try. The false gate tip is really 💯
I bought a similar product like that with the brand Dunlop which they claim to be from the Netherlands. I stuck a magnet on the locking mechanism and it doesn't stick. It's either an aluminum alloy or a zinc alloy. I think it's a zinc alloy. I think if you torque it strong enough, it will break at the lock mechanism. The weak link in the chain is the lock mechanism.
Tonyon is the same one that made my smiley keyway chain lock. False gates are always good. The more you decide the harder it gets I find. Though sometimes it might also get easier from wearimg the teeth when pulling it to decide 😎
How hard to I pull while turning? What do you mean "when it's true it feels loose" as in, easily rotateable or is there more friction on the complete wheel.. I've watched it 10 times and I just don't get it. I stored up my motorcycle for a few years. And I cannot remember the combination of the lock. 😭 Thank you
how u found answer to ur question yet, i also don't get it. My lock is also 5 combination lock and it's like stuck in midway of unlocking it, and it wouldn't go back in nor just go all the way out. Idk wat to do at this point...
@@minlegbatkhishig4581 yes I have. After 2 hours. However he describes it, is true. The most 2 right numbers were easy to find. 2 left ones a little more difficult. It's hard to explain how it feels like when you have the right one. But you can sure tell which ones are the wrong ones. Once you know the wrong ones. It's easier
If the lock is open (in unlock state) look thru the hole and rotate the wheels, you will see cut outs. Do the same thing for all 5 wiles (1:00) P.S. I'm big Firefly fun 😁
Hi, I am trying to decode a 5 digit bike lock, but it is proving to be quite difficult (I have decoded several other 4 and 5 digit locks). This one has 4 black number wheels (black with white numbers) and one yellowish/orange number wheel (on the far right hand side) with black numerals. I can use the normal "binding" approach and feel the gate on each wheel, but it seems as if the yellowish/orange wheel has some other role in opening the lock. The lock has no brand or model number visible on it or the cable - it was purchases about 4 years ago in Hong Kong. Has anyone seen a similar type of 5 digit lock or have any insight in to the role of the 5th wheel ? Thanks ! Bryan

Within 15 minutes of opening this package my daughter tried to change the combination and the lock was locked without a known code. Based on this video I’m not sure wha my true gate and false gate means
