Tim's performance on this song alone should get him all the respect he is deserved. This is absolutely CRUSHED!! I think he was amazing during his run with Priest!
They did not made the best albums with him, but a few good songs. And say what you want, tim ripper owens def has a voice to kill for. Sadly, even with all musicians and big bands he had been in, he has not risen to the power.
I saw The Priest on this tour in a relatively small venue in Columbus, Ohio. This song BLEW ME AWAY. Most of the audience was standing there afterwards, mouth & eyes wide open in absolute awe of what we just witnessed. Fucking incredible 🤘🎸
I've always loved this particular live version, with the guttural backup vocals, the toned-down guitars and Tim's shriek during the chorus; unique and heavy as hell
I saw Priest with Ripper 3 times, I thought they were great. I hate to say it, but when Rob came back his voice was shot, Ripper was clearly his superior.
robs voice had put up with decades of strain by the time he came back, and he was much older, his voice changed its a fact of life, it wasnt shot though he just had to reinvent his style
Writing FACT after your statement, does not actually make it fact. This is a semitone lower than the album version, Owens was always a good Ripper, but a piss poor Halford.
@@Glamosapien Robs voice now is better than Rippers voice now. or even 3 years ago. During 92-2003 rob was better than ripper but after that... rob had trouble 2005-2008 period.
Tim crushes this...then puts it in reverse and drives over it again. Monstrous performance and if they had just played it in the original key..(Tim's got plenty of range for that) it might be one of my top five Priest performances...Halford included.
Always thought Owens was better. Fans are loyal to Halford for good reason, but Tim's voice is just meatier & ballsier (no pun intended). Halford's voice was always so whiny & thin.
Can someone please tell me what happened here? Never heard of this change (although temporary) in Priest's line up. Wtf happened to Rob? This Ripper dude ain't half bad vocally, but I thought this may have been a good Judas cover band! What the hell is the story behind this? I guess I missed out on a lot while in the Army. Thanks for any info. PS: I also missed the "Blaze Bailey" thing in regards to Iron Maiden, as well....but, I'm up to speed on that, now.
Purists may cringe at the made up lyrics for the chorus, but this version is simply scorching. Only complaint: his stage presence is just awful. Ranging from silly to corny.
LMFAO!!everyone that's saying ripper rules must be from Akron.I understand hometown love but come on. Your boy Ripper had a chance but that's over now.he was just a guy a the right place at the right time. Otherwise he would have never been looked at. Hes kinda like that dude that your girlfriend goes out with just to get by for a minute or to make you jealous. still to say he's better than Rob??Nah. He's good but not even close. I'm pretty sure y'all don't believe it even when you say it. Pretty sure they had to bring him in because they were under contract to make two albums and had to do something. I forgive them
