One of the greatest singers in metal. It’s a shame this fella couldn’t cement a long term position in a band. Tim deserves much more than to be known as the ‘stand in’ guy...
alot of people critisize ripper owens time in judas priest but i dont know why . if anything he should get praise for taking the place of the metal god halford after he left priest . those were some pretty big shoes to try to fill and ripper did a damn fine job at it .
Agreed. Unlike a lot of frontman changes with bands during the 90s, he kept true as best as he could the vocal range of Halford while of course adding his own flare.
Rob Halford is one of the greatest metal singers of all time. Ripper did an amazing job of filling his spot for the time he was in the band. I've seen Priest live with both. And both were fucking awesome 🤘🏼
Been a Judas Priest fan since 1982, I was in sixth grade riding my bike in the woods and found a Playboy magazine and laying next to it was the tape Unleashed in the East. Mom found the Playboy but I wore that tape out and I can say it changed my life and made me a life long fan. Ripper filled big shoes, respected the opportunity and did a great job.
Reticent fans where never prepared for admire someone who was better than his adored metal god, by far Ripper's vocals and power was over what Halford done even in his best days
I love this song,Desert Plains! I could listen to it on repeat everyday for the rest of my life! So clean of tone from everyone! I also like the way Tim shakes his jaw to get every word out. What a special time to be alive!
I got turned on to Priest in '79 and own every album they have made. Jugulator is my favorite. People gave them a hard time for changing but i loved it.
As much as i love priest & 1st heard them with Rob & thought no one could ever replace him,Tim sure as hell can hit the notes & he even sounds clearer & better then Rob,Tim has it all,the guy can sing & it shows with all the many projects he has going for him
I haven't seen this footage for about 18 years!! I recently been playing the LIVE METAL MELTDOWN cd...and really appreciate that era of PRIEST with RIpper Owens. What great pipes! Was perfect for Priest at the time.
Tim can sing anything metal. In Cleveland he was in a band called US METAL. They did some priest of course, but also merciful fate, King Diamond and many other great vocal tunes, and he nailed them with ease.
I saw him live as part of Dio Disciples singing Dio/Black Sabbath tunes. He nailed them too. He must be one of the most underrated Metal singers alive!
Yeah he did an awesome job. Has his own style which also kicks ass. Has lower register in his vocals. He definitely stepped up to the plate. Rob Halford is still the metal god. Kudos to the Ripper!!🤘🎤🎶
Guy is good understudy that's bout it. It's like he goes thru the motions but just doesn't bring it home. He is good like I said but at tribute band level. Come on man. I seen Rob in his prime this dude's age at 2001 and it's good very good Rob ran circles round this ripper character at same age
@@precinct1baltimorecountyre588 Lol. Your opinion, but Tim can sing anything, all day. He destroyed Halford on Diamonds and Rust. He hit notes Rob hadn't done clean in years. Ripper is on the rushmore of all time great metal singers.
Kk Downing is bringing back Priest real soon with The Ripper back as the vocalist now that he’s out the band So this is a great example of what to expect 🤞🏻🙏🏼🎉
Jugulator я не сразу воспринял, а вот Demolution вообще зашло на ура! Хотя воспринимаю эти альбомы, как что-то отдельное от Judas Priest, слушаю их и сейчас
If they carry on with Ripper on vocals that would be great. He's got what it takes to sing Priest he's proven that long ago. A new album with them all would be awesome! The last one , not so great. It's good to see K.K playing along side Glen again that's for sure.
Firepower is probably the best album they have put out since Painkiller. Give it a few more listens. There are almost no weak tracks and many really good ones. Traitor's Gate, Spectre, Rising from Ruins...
