03: Mirror Mirror (White Trailer) - RWBY Volume 1 OST (Jeff Williams feat. Casey Lee Williams) 

When I first saw the trailers I made assumptions about what their characters would be like Ruby/Red- The fearless leader who is powerful and doesn't let anything get in her way (pretty accurate) Yang/Yellow- The powerhouse of the team that don't take shit from nobody (pretty spot on, it was easy to tell, what with all the dialogue) Blake- The quiet and introverted loner girl who can get kind of sensitive and/or angry (ehhhhhhhh...) Weiss- The quiet, polite girl that holds the team together whenever internal fights break out (BOY WAS I WRONG)

When you really listen to the lyrics, this song is REALLY deep. So first, Weiss asks the mirror who is the loneliest of all. Being a mirror, it shows her herself. She asks again, and it still shows her herself. Then she asks what is she on the inside, and whether a heart can be turned to stone (she has been hardened by war and doesn't feel emotions anymore, and she asks if it is normal). She asks whats behind the mirror denying that she is the loneliest. She says "save me from the things I see" because she's scared of what she's become. She can keep her dark past from others, (I can keep it from the world) but she can't lie to herself about it (why won't you let me hide from me?). In a final desperate attempt, she asks the mirror again who is the loneliest of all. At this point, she accepts the fact that she is the loneliest of all.

This is why there are Weiss fans out there......

I love how the OST adds such depth to the characters.

To think, searching for a different Mirror Mirror led me to this very song and after hearing it became addicted to RWBY. So weird how time flies! Can't wait for Volume 2!

THIS SONG IS FINALLY GETTING AN EXTENDED VERSION! Finally, after Red Like Roses, From Shadows, and I Burn got full versions following the trailers in which they appeared, I am SO happy to know Mirror Mirror is getting some love as well.

show needs more Weiss singing

I absolutely love this track especially after that ridiculously high note. I get goosebumps everytime especially when this is coupled with Weiss fighting. That counter and ice spell with that music! Superb! !

I have got one thing to say about Weiss. Even though she acts stuck-up, I can tell that all she needs is someone she can relate to. Someone that KNOWS what it's like to be alone, with no friends, who can't trust people at first. like of you agree with me on this.

Weiss is probably my favorite character in RWBY.

My favorite part of Volume 3, Chapter 4: Lessons Learned was Mirror Mirror (Reprise). Some believe in fairy stories, and a ghost that they can't see. I know that I could do so much, if I could just believe in me. Mirror, mirror, I'll tell you something, I think I might change it all... I can't wait for the whole song to come out with the Volume 3 Soundtrack.

I hope we start to see more of this side of Weiss in the show.

This is probably my favorite trailer song from the series. Just the way that they combine instrumental and sound effects in the song, not even mentioning the actual animation, is amazing.

I used to hate Weiss back in volume one, however in volumes two and three I actually started to like her

Ruby's name was announced in a podcast that they made shortly after the first trailer. Weiss' name was announced during her trailer as she is approaching the stage to begin singing. Black and Yellow have had no announcements yet.

Listening to this after Yang and Weiss reunited with "Home" playing in the background. Currently tearbending.

I think this would be a dark souls boss battle

Im an anime watcher and wasnt used to the animations at all. But damn, you gotta admit the storyline is a ton better than most generic anime nowadays, and theres actually CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (which alot of generic animes dont have). Also the soundtrack is just amazing. They have a seperate soundtrack for each episode. Really shows how much effort their composer puts into this show, rather than using the same soundtracks as well. And the even better thing is that the composer always keeps hints of the original Ruby theme in it, so the tune isnt lost.

Why doesn't Weiss ever sing during the series? She's amazing! Maybe it's one of those gifts she has but doesn't want to exhibit; maybe she doesn't actually enjoy it.

I used to not really like Wiess' character because I just thought that she was mean, and wasn't strong enough. But within the fist 5 episodes I really started to lover her and aprettiate her character. She has definitely improved and delveloped. I can't wait for volume 5 so we can see how strong only her but also rest of the team become.

The opening annotation made me laugh out loud really hard. Maybe because it's true.

This reminds me alot of a final fantasy song... its beautiful... with an amazing beat... and has great story..

first of all I think this song and possibly Weiss is based in Snow White. Second of all why am I the only one that acctualy noticed that during the fight we never saw the scar weather it is their or not because until we see blood on Weiss's eye the video never really angled it good enough for us to see the eye without the blood. I have no idea if my animr fanboy is trying to trick me or something smells fishy.

Usually I download music for free but this time I went to pick up a iTunes card and bought both songs :D i am hooked with this series mainly because i want to do computer animation and seeing RWBY inspired me more can't wait for the other 2 trailer and the series premiere :D

I couldn't have worded this any better. i feel that you're right. And that part of her being lonely and stuff, if u saw episode 3, she snuck up behind ruby just to yell at her, but i mean if you're truly angry at someone, why sneak up on someone you dislike? Maybe she just wanted someone to talk to.

The song is so bad ass, yet when I listen to it I can't help but feel sad mainly because of the lyrics. Makes you want to help her. and then you remember that she isn't real. Just like all great animated characters you forget they are animated. And this is just the trailer!

Is it weird that I find this relaxing?

Poor Weiss falling for an obvious traitor, Poor Sun being friends with that traitor, Poor Weiss again for probably being the one to fight Neptune god of Earthquakes and the Sea. Poor Mercury for revealing his name, Poor Roman Torchwick for probably being their father figure, Poor Neptune why couldn't he have been named Poseidon. Poor Roman gods they're used again, they could have done like Norse gods there I would have loved to see Jupiter and Thor fight in this reality.

'White is cold and always yearning, burdened by the royal test.' That 'royal test' which is burdening her might be that giant suit of armor.

Hands down my favourite trailer song for my least favourite member of team RWBY (I still like her mind). Funny how bad it makes me feel for her.

Considering Monty is a renowned hardcore FF fan that isn't surprising.

Monty says they aren't, but then he creates a character whose name translates to the equivalent of "Snow White" and the song is called Mirror Mirror, an allusion to the Queen and the "Mirror Mirror on the wall" bit. Even if they aren't a retelling of the story, he is definitely drawing a lot of inspiration from fairy tales.

Blake, to me, raises the most questions. She's associated with beasts coming "From Shadows"

I really can't wait to get more of Weiss' back story.

the knight fight is a flashback, she has the scar while singing, remembering the fight, but when the fight starts she has no scar, then the knight punchers her in the face and we see how it happened.

Red has a Cannon-Scythe and White has an ice element sabre. Makes me wonder the type of weaponry that Black and Yellow will have as well as how these four all tie together

I know what you mean. I dont know if there will be a mirror but asking the mirror who the loneliest is, is worse than asking who the fairest is. In Snow White the villain wants to see herself when she asks who is the fairest. So being the fairest will put her obsession to rest. In the song, Weiss does not want to see herself in the mirror. So it might mean she will try to make someone else take her place. Or it could just mean that she will try to make friends even if it is hard for her to do so

Jewelry shops with gems are common, yet they're expensive as hell for what they are. Just keep that in mind.

Her behavior in ep. 2 really surprised me - opposite of what I expected. Even then, I think she cares for the things she values and will stop at nothing to defend them - which is why she got incredibly defensive when Ruby fell onto the case full of Dust. However, one thing I don't understand is when she said "It's nice to finally get some recognition around here." That was completely unexpected and I can't find a way to connect the Weiss in her trailer to the Weiss in the episode.
