Electronic Jam! Trying to build a 2-minute electronic track from scratch, was my challenge here (using only 1 instrument, the Elektron Digitone synth).
The recording was thus made in 1 take.
The Digitone is going through the Korg Kaoss Pad Kp3+ (dynamic effect/sampler).
All I did before the recording was just set up 4 different sounds for each of the 4 tracks of the Digitone. I also used the KB SCALE feature of the instrument which help not going out of scale when playing/recording live 😊
I started recording track 2 which had the arpegiattor enabled, then recorded a little chime (track 3), and another arpegiattor on track 4. The bass-line is being played live (track 1).
During the session, I also recorded on the Kaoss Pad, 3 random audio snippets coming from the newly created Digitone Pattern (the volume was kept down because I didn't want the 3 loops to be heard just after the recording).
At the end of the track, I finally enabled each loop (alternatively) improvising a bass-line over it.
