Very helpful bub thanks a lot to you and your helper. I’ve had to go back and watch this video several times. You know the problems with ignition switches on these jeeps 😂
Thanks, just changed mine out and your video helped a lot. A little tricky getting the assembly back in place after changing the switch but otherwise pretty straight forward.
In my experience, all the job is done easily if you first remove the blend door actuator wich is behind the ignition assembly. It's an easy task and doing that will prevent a lot of effort in removing the ignition key assembly. Hope it helps. Thanks for the nice video.
Thank you for the video very helpful. I have a question. Say you did all this and your car still doesn’t turn on, power and heat comes right on with no problem. Can the the problem be the Key Fob ( the chip). I noticed my car won’t turn on without the original key, so can that be the issue?
What was the reason for changing it I’m having a problem with cylinder 5 miss fire and dash cluster not working coil and cam shaft sensor both been replaced Runs fine after restarting once or twice thinking this as next step 🤔
Some people online said they switched it because it would cause the dash and lights to flicker on and off and then throw a code for the fuel sending unit. Some people said they go out a lot. Code U1411.
@Emiranda0426 Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly. There's no programming required at all to replace this style ignition switch. The lock cylinder is not being changed, only the switch which is mounted to the back of the lock cylinder.
