I'm reading "When the body says no" by Dr Gabor Maté. It's very interesting and an eye-opener. It's winter here in Sydney and I just feel like staying in and reading, drinking mint tea and playing with my cats. Enjoy your summer break. ❤🌹

Elizabeth Strout is such a great author. I can recommend My name is Lucy Barton, and Olive Kitteridge.

I only have barefoot shoes, they’re great, so comfy. And I don’t live in the woods 😄 Glad your health issues turned out well! I’m hoping for a similar outcome very soon- been so worried, but I hope worried for nothing.

I truly recommend the book Wifedom by Anna Funder, specially now that you still have fresh the biography of George Orwell. It is about Orwell's wife and about how most Orwell's bipgraphers tend to forget how big of an influence she was in his life. Very interesting the way is written

I just finished reading Station 11 by Emily St John Mandel (Loved it!) And have started The Secret History by Donna Tartt (we’ll see…early days) Both fiction which is fun in summer. Being a minimalist-even thinking of trying to be somewhat minimalist (different) pushes people’s buttons! Nice chat.🐇

Thank you for another great video, Lia. I've discovered you only recently and so haven't had a chance to familiarize myself with all of your content, but what I do know already is that I feel inspired and encouraged by your authenticity, that helps considering I have some perfectionistic tendencies. As for this video, I love how much you sympathize with the characters in the books you read! All the best and have a fantastic holiday, greetings from Poland 😊

Random notes/answers/suggestions from throughout the video: in English the conspiracy hats are called tin hats most commonly, even though they are still aluminum (many Americans call aluminum foil "tin foil," so maybe this why); you're correct "bi" in bisexual is pronounced like "bye;" I'm a fan of a lot of Murakami's work (although in much of it I've had to just ignore the weird descriptions of women) so if you like his writing and want to read one of his novels, I would recommend Kafka on the Shore, Sputnik Sweetheart, or The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. Also, I'm super curious about the barefoot shoes also, I've gone down many internet rabbit holes on their benefits and love the wildings brand, but haven't bought any myself yet. Thanks for more great content :)

I have been wearing only Wildling shoes for past 5 years and its ok if you dont walk for miles on concrete every day. Unfortunatelly, this is my case and I had to stop wearing them and get back to cushioned shoes, so, its good what Lea says, dont get rid of all your "normal " shoes
@ELENAOttawa
@ELENAOttawa 6 дней назад
Humans were NOT meant to walk on asphalt, so we definitely require proper compensation for such unhealthy surfaces to walk on. Running shoes with proper amortisation are a must! But these “barefoot” shoes are still great for nature paths or dirt roads, because the surface is a lot softer and no additional amortisation is necessary. Understanding science is the most useful habit for a healthy and sustainable life!

What brands of shoes are you wearing now? Ive been wearing barefoot shoes for 3 years but lately I'm experiencing some foot pain that I think may be related to walking too much on concrete😢 but everytime I try on 'normal' shoes I feel like my feet are suffocating, they have too narrow toebox and generally are very stiff. They all look too 'pointy' for me, except for maybe birkenstocks.

@@alken87 hello, it happenned to me 2 months ago. I just bought secondhand sandals with quite a large sole and thick. I work as cleaner, I clean large places like cinemas, bločky of flats, lot of stairs, etc so barefoot is no option anymore.. as I say I bought ordinary sport sandals. Thats all I have for now. When it gets colder, I really dont know what ill do. Try to find large sneakers. On weekends I still wear barefoot shoes. Its just for my job

@alken87 6 дней назад
@@petravazanska5707 oh I get it. I have teva sandals (my only 'normal' shoes) and they are quite ok except they give me small blister on my pinky toe when I walk too much, I'm also going to try thicker insoles (I bought a pair for Wildlings but haven't tried them yet). I'm also willing to try some foot exercises and consult my physiotherapist, I'm soo desperate to not going back to regular shoes 😁
@pialupa
@pialupa 6 дней назад
@@alken87 You could try barefoot shoes that have a thicker sole. This way you can still get the benefits of having a wide toe-box, zero drop and no footbed, but have a little more cushioning when walking on concrete. For example, I've been wearing the Groundies Universe (6,9mm sole) in the city and I find it more comfortable than Wildings when walking for a longer amount of time. I also wore the Lems boulder boot (about 10mm sole) during the Winter in Finland to walk on concrete covered in snow and ice. Ok, that was mostly for heat insulation. But I just want to say there are brands that have thicker soles and it might be an option for you :)

I'm asexual and pan romantic. Thanks for learning about aces. So few people take the time to learn about us. My favorite books I read this month were Simon Sort of Says (YA fiction), The Lost Year (historical fiction) and When Religion Hurts You (non fiction)

Sounds like that psychologist was over psychologizing! I only travel with a backpack because I don’t like to carry stuff in the most literal sense and I’m a little lady who can’t put a big heavy bag in the overhead bin on a plane on my own.

I just finished reading The invisible Women's club by Helen Paris. Alot of important topics were opened. Also-I only wear barefoot shoes and my feet feel alot better and my toes not full of blissters like in normal shoea. I highly recommend them (Belenka, Feelmax)

Was passiert hier?“, i dont know

Hi Lia, thank you for another video! This might be an odd question to ask, but do you plan on having more kids? Sounds like you had your son a while ago, and I would be interested to hear you talk on this topic. Maybe is a more personal subject, but if you are willing to share your thoughts I would be very interested. I’m a month away from giving birth to a boy, and I’m very excited! But I don’t see myself having a lot of children, and I don’t think that should take away the valid desire to be a mom. Is also not very common around my social circle to only have one child, so I’m interested in hearing what you think about this if that’s okay with you!

Unhealthy shoes for urban life, since human body requires proper amortisation for artificial and extremely hard surfaces. Barefoot shoes are only good, if you live in the woods, with zero asphalt!
